Made a deal on a truck and was heading to get it and they sold it out from under me, the salesman would not answer or return my calls or texts.
Avoid Automax! They do not pay off your trade in
On 04/30/21, my wife and I purchased from Automax Ford in Killeen a new 2021 Ford Explorer. As part of this purchase, we traded in our 2020 Ford Escape. As of today, 06/01/21, Automax Ford has failed to pay off our trade in. This is over 30 days and now that we have heard about this, will cause us to have a 30-day late mark applied to our credit for their failure to pay off a loan as required. I have verified this via Ford Credit, who had financed our 2020 Escape. Christopher Graham our sales person does not respond to my requests for info. Automax also refuses to provide the 2nd key to the vehicle, until they obtain license plates. I am not sure how a dealer can withhold an item you paid for? In addition to failing to pay off our trade, Automax has resold our trade in prior to having the title. We found this out when a subject attempted to access mysync, which is in our name on the trade it. In addition, after purchasing the vehicle, I requested to cancel the maintenance plan they sold me. The dealer is not responding to my email and letter about this either. The dealer is not responding to my phone calls asking why this has not been paid. I am concerned this dealer is going under. Avoid this dealer!
I am in the sales industry myself, and so I generally do not care for most car sales places because they typically are not the most honest sales people. However, Automax Killeen was definitely a different experience. I was looking to purchase a used car, and set up an appointment to meet Lyn. She was the nicest lady! We looked at several used vehicles and then test drove some. I talked to my wife and she came up as well. During the time I was waiting for my wife, Lyn discovered that the new cars were less expensive with all the incentives than the same model used car I liked. I am all for saving money so I looked at the same model new and showed my wife. We then purchased the new car. Lyn was so funny and personable that I recommend her to anyone and everyone. When I went over to the finance side Niyoka (Niki) helped me. She was not the typical car finance crook either. She was kind and very informative. Very professional and explained everything thoroughly. After picking my new car up the next day, Lyn had Gabe Hernandez show me all the amazing features of my car. This man literally took an hour out of his day just to show me all the features, despite me not being his customer and him not getting any pay from my sale. He helped me set up an online account for my car as well as answered all my questions. He did not leave until I was satisfied with all his answers. They have definitely gained a new customer for the long term.
Horrible Loaner Department
Horrible experience with loaner vehicle department, They did their whole pre inspection photos on their iPads and then when turned in they "found" a hairline scratch, when reviewing the prior photos there was a shadow/glare in the photo and the lady who took the photo even said it was a bad photo. I argued that you couldnt tell anything due to the bad picture taken and they wanted to play a picture game and take new photos to prove a point even when the vehicle was in a different spot and different time of day! Manager was horrible and was threatening more scratches and possible more money outcome! Ended up paying 150.00 for a hair thin scratch which was maybe 1cm big! Never will I ever use them for services and will never give them recommendations due to their lack of respect towards customers! I cant believe that this happened!

Mr Harvey payne helped me and my husband get into a car without much we came into the building and he was the only one who greeted us while everyone else was just looking at us he greeted us made sure we were getting a fare deal and got is into a vehicle with poor credit so I you are in need of a vehicle bad they will definitely try to make sure you are in to a good reliable vehicle
Great experience with Sam Carboyan
I went to Automax with the intention of tire kicking not BUYING. Sam Carboyan greeted us and made my wife and I feel very welcome. I wholeheartedly endorse Sam and doing business with Automax. I was just going to look but ended up buying. Sam was friendly and never high pressured me about anything. He was very knowledgeable about his products. He went way and above the call of duty doing such things as getting my registration plates early for me as I did not want to go out of town with dealer plates. He also arranged to switch some equipment items from my old truck to the new truck and there were other things as well. If I were going to own a car dealership, I would definitely start with a Sam Carboyan. Sales people like Sam are a rare breed. My experience with most over my life have been experiences where I could not wait to get out of there as I do not like the high pressure tactics most use. It was a great experience. I give Sam 10 stars for his work with me. Keep up the great work Sam. You'll be a great success wherever you work if you keep the same work ethic.

These guys are liars and thieves. The managers will make promises they will not keep. I bought a used car from them and it was the worst dealership experience I’ve ever had. Buyer Beware!!!
