2020 Audi Q8 review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2020 Audi Q8?

New last year, the five-seat Audi Q8 blends coupelike design and SUV versatility. It’s powered by a standard 335-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard, and competitors include the BMW X6 and Land Rover Range Rover Velar

What’s New on the 2020 Audi Q8?

New standard features include automatic high-beam headlights, lane departure warning and a digital instrument cluster.

What Features in the 2020 Audi Q8 Are Most Important?

Standard features include 20-inch wheels, full LED headlights, a power liftgate, navigation, a dual-touchscreen control system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, three-zone automatic air conditioning, a panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery and heated front seats. Options include a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo, a 360-degree camera system, four-zone air conditioning, an adaptive air suspension and a head-up display.

Should I Buy the 2020 Audi Q8?

Even though the Q8 puts style ahead of functionality with its sleek looks, it still has a large backseat. Interior materials quality impresses, as does the Q8’s ride quality and outward visibility. However, acceleration lag is a problem, and the drivetrain’s stop-start system isn’t great.

Best Car I’ve Ever Owned

First off, I have to comment on how safe I feel driving the car especially on the highway at higher speeds. It gives me peace of mind given that I transport my six grandchildren routinely. The car is extremely comfortable but I’m a short individual and have to sit fairly close to the dashboard. A right-hand armrest that could be raised and lowered as needed would enhance my comfort since I don’t reach the center console while driving. In addition a seat bolster that inflated the sides of the seat would enhance the car’s comfort for someone of my stature. A bit more storage room in the center console would be nice but I absolutely love the phone charging pad which does take up some of the room in the console. In addition, I love that the car verbally tells you if you leave your cell phone behind as you exit the car; that’s awesome! The stereo system is incredible, and the fact that you can modify and personalize the screens for your favorites enhances the car’s ease of use. The ride is so smooth you need to watch your speed because the car is quiet, and accelerates readily. I absolutely love this car.

Best of both worlds

The q8 exceeded my expectations in all aspects. It handles like a sports car while offering the safety and size of an suv. This vehicle is so luxurious inside and out.

as good as advertised

I have had this car only 2 weeks. It is as beautiful in person as it appeared online. (The car that I purchased had a different color than that of any of that model that I could find in any of the nearby dealerships so it was a bit of a leap of faith seeing it only online.) It rides really well. Since I did not buy it off the lot/had it come from the factory because of options I picked, and the color, I could not get a good deal on it, and it was more than I had originally intended on spending. Still, this model handles extremely well, looks its cost inside and out, and after test driving and extensive research of comparably priced cars among Audi, BMW, Infinity, Cadillac, Lincoln, Land Rover, etc, I still think this is the best of them. This site requires me to put in a rating for reliability but take note that I have owned this car only for two weeks.
