What Is the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette?

The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is a two-seat, mid-engine sports car powered by a 490-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 that sends power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. An available dual-mode exhaust system nudges horsepower to 495. Coupe and convertible body styles are available; the coupe has a lift-off Targa-style center roof section, while convertibles employ a retractable hardtop.

The 670-hp Corvette Z06 has even more potent performance (and a notably steeper price tag), but it’s still docile enough to be a daily driver. The all-wheel-drive E-Ray is similarly pricey, but its 655-hp hybrid powertrain is a technological tour de force — and the new-for-2025 ZR1 (see details below) is a tour de force, period. In all its forms, the Corvette offers supercar style and performance at a bargain price compared with cars such as the BMW M8, McLaren 750S, Mercedes-AMG GT 63, and Porsche 718 Cayman and 911

What’s New on the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette?

The Corvette lineup gets a handful of new cosmetic options for 2025, but the big news is the return of the top-dog, hyper-performance ZR1. The new ZR1 uses a twin-turbocharged version of the Z06’s V-8 that makes an astonishing 1,064 hp. Among the ZR1’s many other enhancements are extra-large carbon-ceramic brake rotors (15.7 inches in front and 15.4 inches in back) and optimized aerodynamics, including an optional Carbon Fiber Aerodynamics Package that can generate more than 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed.

What Features in the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 8-inch touchscreen
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Rear camera mirror
  • Leather upholstery
  • Remote start
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Power-operated engine cover
  • Lane departure steering assist
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Power hood pull-down

Available features include:

  • Heated and ventilated seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Wireless device charging
  • Head-up instrument display
  • Blind spot warning
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Electronic limited-slip differential
  • Magnetic Ride Control
  • Engine appearance package
  • Carbon-fiber and microfiber interior trim
  • Carbon-fiber wheels
  • Carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes

Should I Buy the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette?

If you’re looking for a two-seat sports car that compares favorably to luxury exotic cars costing more than twice as much, be sure to test-drive a Corvette. In addition to its relatively bargain price, the Corvette also stacks up well from a practicality standpoint: Space inside is snug for taller adults, but front and rear cargo areas make the ’Vette much more useful than the typical weekend-only fun machine. They’re significantly pricier than other Corvettes, but the track-focused Z06 and insane new ZR1 are all-out supercars, and the E-Ray AWD hybrid is a high-tech showcase.
