2020 Chevrolet Trax review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

The Chevrolet Trax is a subcompact SUV that can seat up to five people. It’s powered by a 138-horsepower, turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that drives a six-speed automatic transmission. Front- and all-wheel-drive models are available. Competitors include the Kia Soul, Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V

What’s New on the 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

There are no significant changes this year.

What Features in the 2020 Chevrolet Trax Are Most Important?

The standard 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, and 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hot spot (data subscription required after initial trial period) can help you stay connected on the go. A 60/40-split folding backseat and a fold-flat front passenger seat enable the Trax to carry items up to 8 feet long inside the cabin. Available active safety features include blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and lane departure warning.

Should I Buy the 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

The Trax offers good visibility, a tall seating position and rides well, but you must put up with its weak, noisy engine. A lack of advanced safety features on lower trim levels isn’t great, either. The all-new 2021 Trailblazer is another small SUV option within the Chevrolet family.

My wife loves this car

My daughter bought this car for her mother for Mothers Day. She really enjoys driving it. We have just over 1000 miles on it but so far so good.

4.9

Great Safe Reliable Vehicle

We have two of these cars for the kids. An excellent safe reliable choice for the family! Affordable new car that everyone loves! Highly recommend this vehicle.

2.3

A failure by general motors.

You'll enjoy hours of time at the service center due to cheap parts and bad engineering. Chevy has failed to provide a dependable small turbo charged motor and drivetrain. Fuel mileage is as lackluster as the output of this failed endeavor and dependability is a bust.
