What Is the 2019 Dodge Journey?
The Dodge Journey is a mid-size SUV that seats up to seven in three rows. Offered with standard front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive, the Journey is powered by either a standard 173-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission or an available 283-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 with a six-speed automatic. Buyers can choose from three trim levels: SE, Crossroad and GT. Competitors include the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Kia Sorento.
What’s New on the 2019 Dodge Journey?
New standard features include foglights, three-zone climate control and LED taillights. The SE trim level also gets updated front and rear styling cues.
What Features in the 2019 Dodge Journey Are Most Important?
In-floor storage bins in the second row are standard, and the standard 60/40-split second row has a Tilt 'n Slide function for easier access to the two-person third row. The available 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen multimedia system is easy to use and can incorporate navigation capability. Families might be interested in the Journey's available rear-seat entertainment system with a 9-inch overhead screen.
Should I Buy the 2019 Dodge Journey?
Despite its easy-to-use 8.4-inch touchscreen system and versatile cabin, there's no denying that the Journey is aging — and aging hard. While its base price is certainly attractive, it’s important to not overlook the Journey’s mediocre reliability, unimpressive fuel economy and lack of increasingly common active safety features like blind spot warning and automatic emergency braking.
