  • An amazing and faithful vehicle

I've own "Maxie" over 8 years. I have had very minor issues considering "her" age. She has a strong engine, silky transmission and is GREAT on gas (still). I just changed the radio (after 22 years) and everything on the inside still works. Cars are not built like this anymore and I'm keeping Maxie until she stops running. I have 193K miles on her and it is now the secondary (weekend) car!

  • The best vehicle I have owned.

I bought car 12 yrs ago. Done 129,000 Km's. Had 1 coil pack, 1 starter armature & 1 aftermkt radiator. Serviced religiously @ 10,000 km. Now done 229,000 & still doing 33+ MPG on the open road! There are thousands of this most reliable car on the roads in New Zealand.

  • Great car that cost me a lot more than I expected

Comfortable, roomy, great car. Needed a lot of small repairs and required premium gasoline. Ultimately cost me a lot more than I expected.

  • Really Comfortable and Reliable Car

Really good car. I have done a video review of this car which can found by googling "1999 Nissan Maxima ST Interior, Exterior Tour and Review" Here is a summarised version of that review - Interior and Comfort: The Interior is nice and comfortable. The wood grain inserts, the leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob gives a subtle hint of luxury. The factory stereo sounds really good, the automatic climate control and the cruise control works flawless as well. As mentioned earlier in the video, you have nice comfortable seats all around and all the necessary driver control functions are within your reach. I would have liked it even better if the interior road noise was a little less and slightly more headroom for rear passengers. Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Handling and Fuel Economy: Now coming to the engine, the engine on this car is one of the best in its class. It is silky smooth and quiet, but when you really put your foot down, you will feel that there is plenty of power available at your disposal. The shift changes are smooth. The suspensions are a little on soft side which ensures a comfortable ride and at the same the handling is not bad for a family sedan. Fuel consumption figures are 7.2L/100km for highway and 10.8L/100km for city driving, which is actually quite good it class. Things to look for: These cars are very reliable and last a long time given that they have been serviced regularly. So, before purchasing you should look for regular service history, log book and other usual checks. After reading through few internet forums, I have found that the coil packs on these cars sometimes fails and it could lead to some expensive repairs. Also, make sure that the sparks plugs were changed at 100K if not then you are looking at $25 per plug as you need to use platinum tipped plugs with this car. Overall it is a decent car with few negative points. So, I would strongly recommend this car.

  • The best car I have ever driven

I will not say anything other than that I had bought this car 6 months ago with 272,655 km on it. I can still feel how its engine is strong and smooth on the road. I still feel how it is a real luxury car. I was worried about the 3.0L engine. It is doing very good on gas. I am in Canada in Saskatoon, SK. I was worried about this car will screw me up in the winter. But it starts easily in -25 C without an engine block heater. For a car to start in -25 C without an engine block heater, it is not an issue of the battery only. It is an issue of the whole engine. I am really so impressed with its engine and how it is really still strong.

  • BEST CAR OUT ON THE STREET

I have owned my 1999 since new and its the best car i have ever ever owned in my life time. It had 3 miles when i got it and now i have 476362 on it and still runs just like it did back in 99. I take this car back and forth to cali which im doing in 3 days witout any problems. Only thing is replace your timing chain and water pump ever 150000 and you will never have a problem. Plugs every 12k and she will run forever. My father has the same 1 as me wit 780k on it and runs great wit out any issues. If you wanna buy a nice car get the maxima between 1995 to 1999 Stick 5 speed and you will be set for a longggg time.

  • 1999 Maxima maximizes driving enjoyment.

I bought this used auto with 36,000 miles. Ride is very comfortable with 6 way power buckets, and safety is good with front anrear seat belts, front and side airbags on all 4 doors. Good handling, instrumetation is easy to use, and we have made several long distance trips in this car that we have enjoyed. Mileage on hwy is about 30 mpg. Solid, depenable, spacious, and comfortable - everything you want in a full size vehicle.

  • Good Care

I had a 1999 Maxima SE which had 224,869 miles on it. The problem was that i bought it from some guy who wasnt taking care of the car. The car runs great for a period of time until one morning i tried to start it but would start. three of the six cylinders were not firing so i had to get rid of it. The conclusion is you have to take great care of these cars because they are very sensative; they could also bring you the extra "miles." "mine did."

  • Strong Car

I've had my Maxima for 7 years and it has been an excellent vehicle. I bought my Maxima used with 86,000 miles on it. It now has 168,000 miles on it and still runs like it is brand new. The engine is strong, the transmission shifts smoothly and the suspension soft. I have the GLE model with leather seats, sunroof, and Bose soundsystem. This IS a luxury car. It does feel a bit heavy when you have to brake ubruptly or corner sharply. All in all I plan on driving this car for another 100,000 miles.
