2026 BMW X5 PHEV review
We leased a 2026 BMW X5 xDrive50e on 3/31/2026. There were at least a dozen on the dealer lot and we were able to find one with exactly the packages and colors we wanted. We got an excellent deal and, including our 6-year-old paid-off trade-in, left with a monthly payment of less than $300. The car is beautiful, manhattan green with cognac interior. This is our first PHEV, so we started with the included level 1 charger and then installed a level 2 charger (Emporia Classic) in our garage as quickly as possible. For our typical around-town use we've been able to drive almost entirely in EV mode. The EV mileage gauge starts off at 50 miles and, given recent mild weather, appears to be accurate. The interior displays are quite usable. We particularly appreciate the heads-up driver display, which shows speed, speed limit, and even driving directions. The most common operations are still associated with knobs and buttons, with interior temperature settings relegated to the central LCD but visible by default. The main LCD is a touch screen and the BMW iDrive puck is particularly helpful for changing settings. The depth of settings and options is immense. Fortunately an expert at the dealer set up all the basics before we left. We're still experimenting with various features such as automatic locking and interior lighting, but we can find our way around. The ride is softer than a previous (~2015) X5 we had, which is actually nice. The car can be raised and lowered. You can drive in EV, hybrid, or sport mode. So far we've kept it in EV and the performance is plenty good. It still has the tight handling we expect of a BMW. If you punch the gas, the engine fires up and the car really takes off (483 hp). We had a bad experience with run-flat tires in the previous X5 and switched to regular tires plus a spare kept under the back storage area. That is no longer an option because that space is now taken by batteries. We hope we won't have similar tire trouble in this car. With our three-year lease and bumper-to-bumper plus maintenance coverage over the entire period, we will have minimal worries about anything going wrong.

2021 BMW X5 review
I bought a 2021 BMW X5 4.0 with the M Sports Package and this had been one of best vehicles ever owned. The reliability, comfort and curb appeal adds to it value. I traded a 2016 Lexus GX 460 for the X5 and have no regrets!

2023 BMW X5 review
Very comfortable, with massaging seats plus heated and cooled seats. I’m not sure that it’s a great value because it is expensive. The adaptive cruise control and the lane keeping work very well and almost make it self-driving.

2022 BMW X5 review
Only had the X5 for 4 weeks now but so far it is an awesome vehicle that runs and drives great. It appears to be very well built with good body lines and fit. Some of the safety features and electronic systems take some time to get set up properly for the best driving experience but the reward is well worth the time as everything is customizable for two drivers. Only bad thing is that a mower along the roadside threw a stone and put a chip in our paint and the paint isn’t self healing.

2017 BMW X3 review
STAR AUTO MALL: Worst car dealer EVER! I bought a 2017 BMW X3. They never checked the car! I had problems immediately! I called, emailed & texted... Star Auto Mall would NOT return my calls, texts or emails! I went to BMW dealer, and they found lots of issues! Wires hanging down, tires rubbing, etc. It cost me $480 to fix it! I billed Star Auto Mall, and it looks like they're just chucking me the finger!! AVOID these incompetent thieves! We canceled our previous appointment and left our car hunt with Fito. We had an awesome experience buying our car at Tradeline Motors. Starting with our car salesman, Fito. From the start, he was very polite, personable and helpful to us. He even personally took a video of the car we were interested in and sent in to us the day before. When we got there, he was so accommodating, respectful and understanding of our situation. He made the whole luxury car buying experience much more enjoyable and we felt no pressure at all from test driving the car to the negotiation to the sealing the deal. We left the place at peace with our purchase. Fito rocks! I highly recommend him and we’ll definitely go back to Tradeline Motors when we’re ready to make another purchase. Their excellent service did not stop the moment we signed the contract. Because it was raining when we test drove our car, he had us return for a full detail and full tank refill once weather cleared! The whole team is a blessing! Thank you Fito and Mr. Bennett!!
2025 BMW X5 review
Biggest negative on the X5 is the run flat tires. I think they reduce the quality of the ride and at 5,000 miles had to replace two flat tires ---- non-repairable damage.

2024 BMW X5 M review
If you're looking for a luxurious family hauler that can embarrass most sports cars between stop lights, you've come to the right place. The 2024 BMW X5M LCI is an amazing piece of engineering, able to defy physics with its 617-hp twin turbo V-8, massive tires and brakes, and adaptive suspension. It's no nimble sports car, but you'll be able to take more along for the ride, and bathe them in luxury while still taking your fair share of pink slips from unsuspecting, overly confident drivers who are unaware of what lurks underneath the hood. The price of admission is steep, and it takes a lot of gas to produce a 3.7 second 0-60, but its worth it. I get compliments on the Isle of Mann Green, which looks amazing in the sunlight. idrive 8 is a little buggy at times, but work pretty well on the massive screen. Overall, I'm happy with the vehicle. It ain't perfect, but what is? If you have the means, I suggest you pick one up.
