2018 Ford Transit Connect review

I don't trust used car salesmen or dealers. I believe their general reputation for hype and dishonesty is well deserved. My experience with South Street Auto was remarkable not only because it contrasted with nearly every other used car dealer I have visited over many years. It was absolutely positive. This is a professional operation. Here are the details in brief. I went there on a Saturday to look at a 2004 Volvo, which was advertised at a price $2000 below book value. The test drive was good, and the car seemed to be exactly as they advertised. They said their mechanic had checked it out thoroughly. But I wanted my Volvo mechanic to inspect it. They were very accommodating. We agreed that I would tentatively buy the car, and they would wait to put through the paperwork until they heard from me by the end of the day on Monday. On Monday my mechanic found three items of concern: a noise in the alternator that sounded as if it were near the breaking point, a leak in the power steering reservoir, and a crack in the seating for one shock absorber. South Street Auto was surprised by the finding, but readily acknowledged that these were meaningful concerns. I proposed a compromise: they would replace the alternator, and I would repair the other two problems at my mechanic. Within an hour the salesman had the owner's approval for this compromise. They replaced the alternator with a new one the next day while I waited there. Bottom line: South Street Auto is a company with honest, decent salespeople who treat you with respect, and who are willing to admit a mistake and to help in correcting it. The car is terrific, and was a great value even with the $450 in repairs, and the experience buying there was first rate. Let me note that I am a real buyer, I am not a relative or friend of anyone at South Street Autos, and they did not ask me to write this review (and don't know I am writing it).

Its the kind of commercial vehicle I was looking for and could not ask for something more reliable . I usually take to a ford dealership twice a year for maintenance and it has produced great mechanical results for my long distance rides. Hey guys, go for it!!!! would not regret it.

2020 Ford Transit Connect review
Bought a brand new in 2019 Transit Connect, since then we only had to change the brakes and oil !!!! Love this van. Works fine for our company needs. The money that we saved on gas alone is priceless (27/28 MPG). I decided to write this now because this is the only Ford product that didn't disappoint us. I bought a 2020 Tesla Model X at Baha after seeing it on Cars.Com. The listed price was really good so the only issue was the value of my trade-in. Mason made me a reasonable offer after I emailed pictures, then emailed me a Bill of Sale so I knew all the costs before I arrived. When I got there they took my 2016 Tesla Model S for a test drive and upped their trade-in offer by $2000 without any negotiation by me. They look like a typical corner used car lot with cars packed in, but they have a lot of nice cars. They listed my trade-in at a very attractive price. It will be a great deal for someone. Pro Tip: If you're coming from the north, don't get off I-94 at Cicero. Take the next exit east and enjoy a more relaxing drive to North Avenue.
