2016 Volkswagen Beetle review
I traded in my Buick Enclave for a VW Beetle over 6 years ago and have loved it nearly every day. The Turbo engine is fantastic. It's been a great little car. The only complaint is that it's not great (at all!) in the snow. Other than that, two thumbs up.

2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata review
This is my second Miata (first was a 1990), and I love it so much! Retractable hardtop roof is SO convenient!! Love the manual 6 speed for all the pep, and gas mileage is exceptional. I would consider a new one if the traditional, bright red paint and retractable hard top were both available. Since they're not, I'll stick with what I've got and enjoy it many more years!

I don't trust used car salesmen or dealers. I believe their general reputation for hype and dishonesty is well deserved. My experience with South Street Auto was remarkable not only because it contrasted with nearly every other used car dealer I have visited over many years. It was absolutely positive. This is a professional operation. Here are the details in brief. I went there on a Saturday to look at a 2004 Volvo, which was advertised at a price $2000 below book value. The test drive was good, and the car seemed to be exactly as they advertised. They said their mechanic had checked it out thoroughly. But I wanted my Volvo mechanic to inspect it. They were very accommodating. We agreed that I would tentatively buy the car, and they would wait to put through the paperwork until they heard from me by the end of the day on Monday. On Monday my mechanic found three items of concern: a noise in the alternator that sounded as if it were near the breaking point, a leak in the power steering reservoir, and a crack in the seating for one shock absorber. South Street Auto was surprised by the finding, but readily acknowledged that these were meaningful concerns. I proposed a compromise: they would replace the alternator, and I would repair the other two problems at my mechanic. Within an hour the salesman had the owner's approval for this compromise. They replaced the alternator with a new one the next day while I waited there. Bottom line: South Street Auto is a company with honest, decent salespeople who treat you with respect, and who are willing to admit a mistake and to help in correcting it. The car is terrific, and was a great value even with the $450 in repairs, and the experience buying there was first rate. Let me note that I am a real buyer, I am not a relative or friend of anyone at South Street Autos, and they did not ask me to write this review (and don't know I am writing it).
2013 Volkswagen Beetle review
I was initially looking for a used Golf, but the more I looked at the Beetle the more I liked it. When I found the one I ended up buying, it was love at first drive. This little car packs a punch with the 2.0T, and will throw you back in your seat. It’s an absolute blast to drive. Handles well around town and on the interstate, where it could easily get one in trouble since it wants to GO. The same engine as is found in the GTI, so this should be unsurprising. Easily gets 30+mpg on the highway when cruising along, typically around 20-25 city. These cars handle city driving just fine, but they are meant for the freeway in my opinion. I find the interior to be quite luxurious. Heated leather seats (not available in the Golf) with plenty of storage compartments. Not many frills, just a sleek and mostly practical dash. The trunk is big enough for grocery runs, and the rear seats fold forward for larger loads. It’s not going to haul large appliances or furniture, although it could possibly carry some bigger stuff on a roof rack. The Fender audio system is impressive, wouldn’t change a thing about it except it could benefit from an updated head unit with CarPlay. This hasn’t been an issue for me. I think the car is a real looker, it turns heads and has drawn the occasional compliment. My used model had some imperfections, but it’s still a great looking car that I want to look after and keep for as long as I can. It feels well built, the doors close with the satisfying weighty thud of a premium vehicle. Overall, I am very happy with my 2013 beetle. It’s not only fun, but it seems to be reliable with a couple caveats that some owners might not be aware of. The 2.0T engine is designed for premium fuel, using regular will eventually damage it. The 2.5 can run regular, but I believe the 1.8T will also want premium. The reason for this is lower octane fuel will cause detonation in these high compression engines. If you don’t know what detonation is, just know it’s bad. The oil needs changed more regularly than the manufacturer recommended 10k miles. 5k to be safe, 7k at a stretch. This is especially true for higher mileage vehicles. Speaking of stretch, there is a known issue with some 2.0T engines where the timing chain stretches over time and many miles, so if buying used that’s something I’d have a mechanic check out. This is an expensive maintenance item, but IF it’s needed, getting it done along with the tensioner and a new water pump for good measure will ensure that the new to you Beetle is reliable for many years and miles to come. The other issue is carbon build up. Getting it cleaned out is not as spendy as the timing chain but it’s also not a cheap fix. I believe this can largely be avoided by using top tier fuel (it contains detergents that help with this) as well as regular oil changes and some regular spirited driving. Would not recommend this car to someone who mainly does town or city driving, the 2.5 engine might be better suited for that. According to my research, the 2.5 is quite bulletproof BUT it’s not good for any engine to be driven at low RPM all the time.

Well, I made the trip and it was as beautiful in person as it looked online and was EXACTLY as they had described it. Because we worked out a price that was fair to everyone and the car was what I was "sold" on the phone, I bought the car on the spot and am thrilled with my purchase and the quality of the car. 2002 BMW 330 review

We bought a 2009 Toyota Prius In January 2019. The mark of a good business is what they do if everything does not go perfectly. The day after we got it the check engine light came on. I called and talked with their service tech, Kevin. Based on the code he had an idea of what it was and wanted to have the parts on hand to do the work so he said he would let me know when he had the parts. He called me back the next day and we set up an appointment. On that day he described what he needed to do and promptly went about fixing it. The check engine light came back on 2 days later with a different code related to the same issue. Kevin told me it pointed to another part and if both codes would have come up together, he could have done it all at once. He got the part and called me and scheduled a time. Once again he described what he needed to do and how long it would take and set about it promptly. This time the check engine light stayed off. Part of the deal was providing a second key for the car. Their usual business partner was not available so they gave me contact information for someone with that business in my area and they would reimburse me. I got the key made and found out I was not charged the rate they had negotiated with the business, but a higher rate. They contacted the business and they got them to reimburse my credit card the amount over the negotiated rate and sent me a check for the balance. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and courteous. This was service after the sale going above and beyond. I would definitely feel good about buying from them again.

We have owned the car for a month and have put on 3,000 miles. Its a lot of fun to drive but the passenger side is really lacking in leg room and the center console controls are difficult to get to. Its a real head turner!

2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT review
I have had weekend cars for some years now. Started with BMW M3 (E46 competition package), moved to Porsche 911 turbo (997.1 with 6-sp), then 2015 Nissan GTR (I truly enjoyed that car) and I am on the 2018 MB AMG GTR now. I drive them only during late Spring, Summer and store them from October to April. I keep them for 2-4 summers, then move on. MB AMG GTR is the next level. It is starting to encroach into exotic car territory. Lots of attention. It is a race focused machine and by far the most uncomfortable sport car I have owned so far. But that is a good thing. Engine is at the moment one of the best in the business. Sounds awesome. It is a tricky car to drive fast so one has to be a bit more careful when compared to Nissan GTR/Porsche 911 turbo or even Porsche 911 GT3. I had a rear light failure within the first 4k miles. Fixed under warranty. Entertainment system is a bit old. In general I would say this car is worth the money.

Oh and I got my registration transferred and it's only been a week and a half and I already received my updated one in the mail. I have no complaints. Extra set of keys, full tank of gas, great warranty and a like new car. Love this place!!!
2019 BMW Z4 review
Practical, stylish, and quick, the G29 Z4 sDrive 30i excels as a summer sports car with a surprisingly large trunk (soft top doesn't intrude). At 6'3", I fit comfortably, even more so than in previous SL500/SLK350s. It easily accommodates two people and weekend luggage. The B48 turbo inline-4 is efficient (averaging ~28 mpg) yet delivers strong performance (0-60 in ~5.5s). The ZF 8-speed transmission is a responsive partner, offering versatile driving modes (EcoPro to Sport+), with paddle/shifter control. Handling is exceptional with the staggered 19" Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, holding traction even when pushed hard. The ride can be firm due to the short rear overhang, a trade-off for the Z4's superior cornering compared to the more comfortable but less engaging SL500. The i7-adjacent infotainment is user-friendly with physical climate controls and includes active cruise control, backup camera, and parking assist. Wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and the OEM interface are both good, though the optional wireless charger can overheat phones. Numerous customization options exist, with aftermarket apps (BimmerCode) offering even more. Comfort is good with supportive seats (plenty of legroom for a tall driver), excellent wind management with a removable blocker, and a calm cabin with windows up. The ability to operate the soft top at speeds up to 30 mph is surprisingly useful, and it can also be controlled via the key fob. A minor annoyance is the center armrest's asymmetrical opening and the passenger-side cupholder cover hindering armrest use and cup retrieval. Also, the aggressively bolstered, somewhat narrow seats might not suit wider individuals – a test fit is recommended. Interior storage is adequate with door pockets, under-dash space, enclosed center console (cupholders), and a rear tray with trunk access. The insulated soft top ensures a muted cabin with the top up, and the Harman Kardon sound system is impressive. Phone calls remain clear even with the top down. Overall, the G29 Z4 sDrive 30i is a reliable, efficient, stylish, and comfortable convertible, my best yet and one I intend to keep.

If you want to buy a Toyota in VA, go to Leesburg and ask for Frank Samadov! Frank worked incredibly hard to make my difficult transaction go smoothly. I purchased the Prius before it had arrived at the dealership; it was an out-of-state purchase; and the vehicle needed to be shipped to the west coast. All of the paperwork had to be done online and via FedEx, and the registration/licensing and taxes had to be arranged through both Virginia and Washington State. Frank was amazing! 2015 Ford Mustang review
I have a premium Yellow 2015 GT convertible. Black interior (not charcoal gray) with a Black top. This car has the 6-speed automatic and therefore, it does not constantly shift up/down like the newer (lousy) 9-10 speeds. Mine includes the Ford Performance PowerPac 2 with RTR axle backs. With only 19,000 actual miles, this car looks, sounds and performs excellent. Would not sell it for any Corvette (have had 3 of them) nor any other Convertible with a 9-10 speed auto. 2023 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF review
At first glance you ask yourself... what did I buy. It looks small and very low to the ground. You manage to get in and start the car. The engine roars to life and it's louder than what you might be used to. The seat hugs your body and you begin to get comfortable. First gear sprints the MX-5 into what feels like a roller coaster ride. It's lively and fun, and you tell yourself... yeah, I can get used to this. Is you're looking for excuses to take it out for a ride.

2006 Pontiac Solstice review
I got my solstice for only $5000 with 36000 original miles on it. Checked car fax and it had oil change less than every 1000 miles by one owner and was barely driven by most owners. I’m the 6 th owner. This car is prestine. I could sell it amd make $8000. But I love it too much to do that. It looks more expensive than it was. It handles and goes around corners like no other. I don’t think it’s possible to roll this car. I do not have a turbo in it, I would just get in trouble. 170 hp 5 speed manual id fine for me. The miles will stay low because I live in tahoe and it’s got to be stored for the winter months. This car turns heads. Downside, if I have a passenger, there’s absolutely no room for anything. It’s not a car I would take on a long road trip unless you were alone. I drive it nice so far just because it’s in such excellent shape. The weight capacity on it is under 400 lbs. so if you’re a big person with a big spouse, the car wouldn’t be practical. I’m 110 lbs and my boyfriend is 200 lbs and that’s about the max load... especially if he has groceries piled on him. Definitely not built for a wider person. If you’re tall the car does have ample leg room and height with the top up. I call it my fun weekend car. That’s what it’s for, for a nice drive on Sunday or to go out and have a showy car on a Friday and Saturday night, maybe a solo shopping trip too. It’s definitely a fiat weather car with the rear wheel drive as well.

I was interested in a Nissan NV 2500. Viewing several of these vehicles on cars.com and other sites. I decided to make the trip to Trust Auto in Maryland from West Virginia. About a 4 1/2 hour trip. I had talked to David on the phone to make sure the Nissan was still available and explained when I could be there to look over the vehicle. We made the trip in good time only running into one delay. Upon meeting David he brought the vehicle up to the front of the dealership and told us to inspect it, which is what we did. I had two top mechanic with me. While we knew the vehicle had been in an accident, the repair work was very well done on found a few bolts missing. One in the valance and the other from the inner fender. This could have been from the accident or just from being a service vehicle. A little over 94,000 miles on it. The detail shop did a great job on their work. Very chean for sure. After running the computer test, we took the Nissan NV for a test drive. It did not disappoint. Extremely happy with everything we saw and felt during the test drive. Steering was solid and tracked well. No pull to either side while driving. Throttle response was perfect as well as the braking system. The comfort of the Nissan NV was Avery pleasant surprise. The ride was almost as good as my Lincoln MKZ, almost.😎 Much like a 2006 GMC dually I had in 2007. Very nice. When returning to the dealership myself and the two mechanics talked things over and decided to go to the next step. After a little negotiation we settled on a fair price and made the purchase. David was very kind to us and I feel like we got a great deal. We finished the paperwork and was ready to leave but we were blocked in by another vehicle. I backed back into the parking spot when one of the ladies that worked there said she would move the vehicle so we could be on our way. She came back within a few minutes moved the vehicle and with a big beautiful smile waved goodbye to us as we left. That truly made my day😇. Trust Auto in my opinion is a great dealership and when I need another vehicle, they will be the first ones I will go to. They were unable to negotiate on any of the pricing, but they made up for it by getting me an Uber from the train station to their shop, which made to logistics of the trip so much easier for me. They have a really great selection of fun cars at the facility. The price was very reasonable. The staff was really pleasant to work with, and they had my financing all ready to go. The facility is very pleasant. It is clean, bright and hospitable with a lot of consideration towards operating within modern tech conveniences. I conducted the bulk of my business with them, prior to going to the lot, via text, which I appreciated. I highly recommend buying from this company. My only critique was how long it took to button up all the details and get back on the road. Otherwise, they are great, and I would actually go all the way to Maryland to buy from them again!
