2019 Honda Civic Type R review
After I drove it around for an hour or so to get my shifting swagger of my pre-Prius days (15 years ago!!), I gunned it and holiee shiiiiiiiiiiii. I felt like a criminal. I'm mostly a well mannered gentleman but at that moment I must tell you that it feels good to be a gangster. A few of my buddies are rolling new 911s now and I thought for the longest time....actually every night on YouTube....about possibly getting one. Well, after receiving this Type R yesterday, I'm glad that I spent a third of the money to get enough of the fun with this. It's good enough for a guy that prefers to stay in his nice sofa than some cold hard jail cell. I don't wanna be put in the slammer. I got two kids. This, my friends, will do the trick for you too. Live a little, you know.

2019 Honda Civic Type R review
Best all around Bang for your buck "IF!!!!" you can find it for Sticker price I had to go to 17 dealerships to finally have one sell me one at sticker price. It is amazing car. TIRES: Current Stock tires tend to scramble for traction more times than I would like but sticker ties should fix that. RIMS: These 20" rims... this is a surprisingly comfortable ride, but allow Jesus on your side if you hit a pot hole, to bless your rims for another ride. TRANSMISSION: Seems to have an issue with downshifting which seems to be a known issue by most TYPE R owners. The shifter will not go into 4th, 3rd or 1st easily occasionally has been my issue. This is very annoying when it happens especially since its a brand new car but no where near a deal break at this point in ownership. COMFORT:Seats are next level comfortable, OMG car is almost worth just the seats on long trips short trips, sometimes I just want to hope in the car just to relax. PERFORMANCE: Is not...whats the word.... Fun. What I mean by that is, i've driven EVO 8, Silva, Intera, Miata, Prelude, RX-7, Skyline, RX-8, and WRX STI, and the Honda Civic is a better performing car than all of these vehicles, however all of these other vehicle FEEL more fun to drive because of the way the Type R delivers its performance. Its calm, collected, third gear will launch you from 30-->80mph in like 3-4 seconds and you have no idea you are retardedly beyond the speed limit until you hit the breaks and then the speed becomes apparent. Around turns it just grips and takes you through the turn. No drama, no excitement, no fun, just surgically, expertly, confidently a driving professional. This may be an awful description but I really hope it helps someone out! CLEANING: If you are doing it by hand there are so many nooks and crannies on the exterior it is quite the endeavor. Also the alcantara/suede/ whatever it is seats grab particles and hair like nobodies business. Overall the worst part about this vehicle is having to deal with the Honda dealerships.

Let me tell you a little bit about my experience… I knew I wanted to purchase a 2026 hybrid Civic hatchback in black. I was initially dealing with another dealership. Even though that salesman knew I wanted a hybrid, they quoted me for a gasoline model. I knew the price was less than I anticipated, so I went back to double check that they were quoting me on the correct car by asking for the VIN number. Once I had the VIN number and could verify that it was gasoline instead of hybrid, I went back and requested the actual car of my choice. At that point, we had to renegotiate the price and I realized they did not have the hybrid car on their lot. A week went by and I kept asking them if they could source the car. I found several of them online within a few hundred miles and asked if they would be able to bring it in for me so that I could continue doing business at that dealership. I felt like they strung me along for several days without an answer. I eventually reached out directly to this specific dealership and within 24 hours we had a deal and my car was on hold for me to pick up. I put down my deposit over the phone but the rest of this deal happened by emails and text messages. It was simple and straightforward. I did not feel like I got the runaround like I felt at the other dealership. I set a date to pick up my car, I showed up and signed paperwork and it was done. 2023 Honda Civic Type R review
1st of all you are giving a car that is beating lamborgin/porsche caymans/bmws best and more 3 stars?? "haha" Take it to a track and you will see why Honda is going to make elite cars think about pricing! I own a 2022 porsche 911 turbo s, and i have owned many bmw audi and ferrari. I have raced rally for years and this type R even at 60k smokes the competition. Mind blown how it holds the corners and zips right back up with the top porsche cayman gt3 gt4. Just a joy to drive!

2019 Honda Civic Type R review
Car is surprisingly compliant, I’ve had a few big Audis and vws with low profile tires and this car is really comfortable in comfort mode, took it immediately to a private event at Palmer a few weeks back and the car in stock form did fabulously, definitely lives up to the hype.... and then some. Only downside so far is the lack of options for tires since this car has odd-sized tires, non oem wheels are out of the question, the car has zero torque steer, aftermarket wheels would make all the magic go away. Also, 30mpg is a big plus. I traded my 2011 Range Rover sport for this and honestly the Honda rides better. Leaving the car stock will be the main goal, the car to my eyes is absolutely perfect and livable for daily duties. One thing I’ve noticed lately is that the car has not stopped from appreciating. Future classic is an understatement.

2025 Honda Civic Type R review
It's been 5 month since I got my Type R, and it was the right choice for me . It might be for everyone so I recommend taking a test drive if the dealer let's you and get your finance done ans shop around for MSRP. I had no problem driving 1400 miles round trip and wasn't beat driving the car. This is a keeper for sure.

2023 Honda Civic Type R review
A blast to drive! Brakes are very responsive, quick at lane changes. The car feels on rails at high speed on tight curves. Very happy with the performance of the car. Very decent gas mileage on long trips. I recently did a 680 mile trip and my average was 29.8 mph

2021 Honda Civic Type R review
One of the well-constructed cars I owned. I owned seven Honda/ Acura cars never one disappointment. The six speeds can run up to 7k RPM. This is a small rocket when needed in R-Mode. Comfort mode is great when it comes to mpg gas.

2024 Honda Civic Type R review
It’s what was best of the 17-21 then add more refinement. The +r mode can pogo sometimes but not a big deal since can program all the +r features with the comfort or sport suspension under individual. Sound system is fantastic, interior ergonomics are fantastic, spacious, 320 miles per tank which is good for a performance hatchback, track performance in stock form is fantastic, can hang with cars it’s not got business hanging with.
