Next to top rating in Consumer Reports. Lives up to its rating 100%. Only concerns thus far, after three weeks of use. 1) takes time to learn use of various electrical and mechanical controls -- after 20+plus years of VW Jetta ownership, "a lot is different." Just have to be patient learning all the new features. 2) Auto-safety features (staying in lanes, braking distance warning, etc.) are helpful to some less-attentive drivers but annoying to this long-experienced user. Fortunately, they can be turned off and stop the chirping.

This car is truly phenomenal. Take good care of it, and it takes good care of you. Keep up on maintenance and you have no problems. Wait for the engine to fully warm up before you romp on it and you won't have head gasket problems. It's pretty fun to slide around gravel roads as it gets loose and swings the tail pretty easy, but it's super easy to recover simply by countersteer and lifting off the gas. But stay in it and countersteer and beautiful drifts take place. Super funny to drift a station wagon. Had it to 110 mph once. Didn't feel unsafe or unstable. Car looks good from most angles. Daily communting was what I did with it (although obviously some fun stuff too), and it satisfied my needs with the helpful storage space of an SUV but good gas mileage of a crossover. Engine isn't super powerful, but has enough torque and grunt to get you by, just don't expect any supercar levels of acceleration. It's got great handling on dry and wet pavement, but take it out to a gravel road and she shines. Mine was at 268000 miles before I sold it to family, they say it's still going strong. Even at that mileage you can still drive it like a rented mule and it likes it. At over 200,000 miles I stopped driving it at 75-80 on freeway. Keep it to 70 and oil consumption stays pretty good. I extreme offroaded (being some things you might see on the trans-america trail, like mud pits, sand and river crossings) it a few times with all season Goodyear's and it had no problem. I can't say enough about this car if I ever have the chance to drive another one I will. Just make sure the engine warms up first before doing anything stupid.

This is our 2nd purchase at Grand Subaru. We had such a wonderful first experience that we continue to use Grand Subaru for service as well as for our recent trade in and purchase of our 2024 Forester. Everything went smoothly. Gabe, our salesman from our prior purchase, helped us again in his usual professional, friendly, efficient, personal, above and beyond way! He makes all aspects of a car purchase easy to understand with full details of our new vehicle, honest answers, genuine thoughtfulness, and complete follow through. We would highly recommend Grand Subaru for purchasing and service! Everyone is friendly and non-pushy in both regards. I have never owned a car that I felt comfortable bringing in for service at a dealership due to unfriendly service techs who made me feel like I couldn?t trust what they said the car would additionally need. I would leave it to my husband to take care of. However, I have always felt comfortable at Grand Subaru, from the friendly people who wave you in to the people who verify the service being done to the person at the counter who takes your payment. It?s such an unbelievably simple process that my son, who has autism, has brought the car in independently and has had incredible experiences, as well! That says so much to me in my mom book!! We love our Subaru and we plan to continue owning Subarus from Grand Subaru, even though we have closer Subaru dealerships to our house!

This is a review of a CrossTrac loaner car from a Subaru dealership while my Ascent was in for service. My likes: exterior styling-great looking small SUV, fun to drive around town-somewhat peppy engine, great commuter car-easy to park, feel safe while driving-great visibility and excellent crash test worthiness, fantastic AC-keeps interior of vehicle even in hot desert climate, always AWD, decent room for backseat passengers. My dislikes: Subaru seems to have eliminated headrests that tilt-this has always been a favorite of mine and a huge reason I have owned 7 Subarus, Premier trim seats not the most comfortable, needs a bit more horsepower- when passing other vehicles on highway one must plan plenty of time, not a lot of exterior color choices since many are dark metallic -my preference is white, beige, light gray, light blue, not very budget friendly-SUV pricing in general remains rather high. Would I recommend this vehicle? Absolutely!

Although the car we wanted didnt work out, the customer service was excellent. MARCUS is a STAR! He should be in management. I have brought many mercedes in the past. Carmax is turning the tide when it comes to purchasing vehicles. The best thing to do when you buy any car is to take it to another mechanic, and then bring it back to the place to be fixed within the warranty period. The Truck I purchased from them a year ago had a few issues but they did take care of it and I've not have any problems since. Carmax has set the bar high for purchasing returning and anything to do with cars. BRAVO!

I bought this car brand new with less than 10 miles on it; few years later it’s got 50,000 miles and I haven’t had a single issue with it. I feel like most cars I’ve had don’t ever feel the same as they did brand new after you break it in. That is not the case with the Impreza, it feels the same as it did when I first drove it off the lot. This is hands down the best car I’ve ever owned and I have owned over half a dozen new and used cars.

I just wanted to comment on how much I like Carmax customer service as a company. I bought me car from Carmax in Nashville Tn about 2 years ago and had great experience. Then few months later I my car started making a noise on the front end. Took back to Carmax in Nashville They put me in a rental car till the next day till they got it fixed... Which was great. They repaired my car free and payed for the rental car. Then April 6th I was traveling thru Jackson Tn and my car started making a terrible noise. I was very concern. Called Carmax in Jackson Tn took my car there they worked me in pretty quick. When they pulled the wheel off the found a pebble had past the dust cover and was rubbing between breaks and rotary. They removed the pebble and all was good. Thank God there was no damaged. Tech put my tire back on and sent me on my way. They didn't charge me nothing.. Thank you

I own several American cars in the past and I'll never buy another American car again after buying this Subaru. I feel a lot safer and a lot more comfortable in the Subaru Crosstrek than I ever felt in any American car built that I ever drove

This is my second Crosstrek and I love it. I live in the Northeast and it's the best car I've ever had for driving in snow and sleet. It also has great pickup for when I want to pass a car or for going uphills.

When I came to Grand Subaru in Bensenville with my family, I didn't have an appointment. My friend recommended Mateusz Drwal to me, so I asked about him. He welcomed us with a smile on his face. He devoted his time to us and explained everything. Matt goes above and beyond when it comes to buying a car, we were coming and going undecided 2 times, he was always there to help and answer all of our question. These was no waiting, he was very helpful, non-pushy and have us good advice and consideration. When the care was chosen and all the details discussed by Mateusz, I suddenly changed my mind. I told him that I would probably prefer another car. Without the slightest problem and with a smile on his face he said that it was not a problem and asked which car I would like to see. from the first day I had it I haven’t had any issues with it as it handles great and gas economy is awesome. I don’t have a negative to write. I drove Lincoln’s for the last 20 or more years and because they stopped making cars and only Crossovers or SVU’s, I searched high and low to find an equivalent car and googled all the options that were a must and the Subaru Legacy Elite came up and my husband and I went to look and drove out with our new car and couldn’t be happier. The ride is comfortable and the car is just great.

We currently own the Outback 2024 XT, and it’s a great car to drive. However, its turbo CVT engine does produce a slight lag in acceleration and when slowing down. Just a matter of getting used to. Also had issue with the lift gate button, which broke after only two months in possession. My wife and I are in our 60s, and all our kids have their own families, so thank goodness we don’t have to drive those 8 seater SUVs anymore. This outback has been the best alternative for us.

Great performance 4 door car for the money (sticker price). I have had mine for three years and have had no issues. Decently quick, handles great, comfortable and fairly luxurious for what it is. Best part is the gearbox and drivetrain.

Cheap, reliable, comfy, low maintenance. These cars from my experience will last you a lifetime. You should consider one and you won’t regret it. I’ve owned server all Subarus in the past and they all have been amazing to me

I like the solid feel of the car and the sturdy and high ride. Good acceleration. It would be a better SUV if the ground clearance was at least 10” or 12”, with the exhaust pipe properly tucked away!

Great car. Great Price. No complaints. Just the right size for me, mainly for visibility. I've upgraded to more bells and whistles than I had before. Love the backup screen for parking. Love the miles per gallon at 32. The car has great pickup - just what you need when you need it.

got the car mid 2023 as a gift. it’s my first car and honestly, it’s amazing. doesn’t have anything too flashy, but gets me from point a to b. she’s super spacious, though my heated seats sometimes don’t work. the ac does break sometimes, but i love how fast the take off speed is :)

The Forester is the first SUV I ever owned. It has had a few issues, but the dealership, Kenny Ross in Irwin Pa, has always been top notch in customer service. First issue was the orignal tires went bald after only 10,000 miles. I called Kenny Ross and they said they would contact corporate. Got 4 new tires at no charge. Next issue I did not even know I had. Took it in for an oil change and they tell me I need a new CVT. Didn't know I had a problem. No charge again. Last issue was a radio that kept giving an error message and would not work. Took four visits to isolate the problem, but now have a new radio that brings in more stations. Again for free. Highly recommend the bumper to bumper warranty. Money well spent.

Spontaneous windshield cracked to 2 1/2 feet in just seconds! No stones seen, without warning, bang. The part cost $850.00 more for eye-sight calibration! Subaru dealer said total cost, around $2000!

Very dependable and reliable vehicle regardless of the terrain traveled. The perfect vehicle for older folks or those with knee problems. Seat height is perfect, you can slide in and out of the seat with ease. Smooth ride and overall great vehicle.

7th Subaru for this Alaskan. This is the best I’ve ever had. Bought the Touring edition, new, & still blown away by the rig. Tested out with a cross country camping trip & comfort, adaptability, utilities, dependability - all a 5. Took a tent, but not even needed, w/firm foam to create a level, comfy bed area. Now I get why my cousin tried to replace his Ascent Touring with a Lincoln Navigator. Ended up selling the Nav to go back to an Ascent Touring. The first Sub I’ve had that Dad proclaimed ‘comfortable’ and ‘perfect’. I chose the Captains chairs for the 2nd seat, and passengers have loved the comfort & their view, as well as their controls, drink holders, etc. I love the options to simply control everything. Almost killed by a drunk driver long ago, I keep a very close eye on everything around me. Visibility in this rig is mind blowing. And that’s on top of all the cameras that monitor what’s happening. Safety features are perfect. Like listening to music, radio, podcasts? Sound in the Touring edition is heavenly. Very, very impressed with this rig.

I purchased this as a commuter car, but ended up taking it on long trips with the family. Currently has 65k miles. Interior is comfortable, the leather seats are easy to maintain. The infotainment system is great and easy to navigate. The only issue I had with it was the power lift gate. It was under warranty, so no big deal - but it would’ve been expensive had it not been. This is a great car for a family with small kids. The only reason I’m got rid of it is because my kids are growing and we needed something bigger. Routinely hit 23 not on highway. It’s got some pep, but you’re not buying it for sports car experience. AWD does very well off road and in snow. The exterior plastics are somewhat cheap and occasionally need to be set back in place. Otherwise, no mechanical issues and drives like the day I brought it. I’d recommend highly.
