2014 Toyota Prius v review
The Prius was discontinued worldwide as of this year and was no longer sold in North America in 2019. It is a shame because it is an excellent car. MY car is close to 100K miles and I never had any problem with it. It was dealer maintained since buying it new in 2014. It is my second Prius V. The plus: - Fuel Economy: the car averages 40 mpg in the summer. I have managed at times to average between 25 and 27 mpg). The fuel economy drops during the winter which is normal for any car partially running on battery as batteries lose of their efficiency during the winter. - Versatility: The Prius V is a real Swiss Army knife. It can be used as a staion wagon, a crossover, a sedan. Used as a station wagon with the rear seats down, I can fit in more things than in our brand new Honda CRV. It also carries five adults on long distance trips in a very comfortable fashion. - Comfort: The car is amazingly comfortable on long distance driving. I have done a number of long distance trips (New England to Florida, DC to NYC to Boston to NH etc) and I was never tired. The seating position is very good, the driver's seat is adjustable (height, depth, seat back ) and it has an inflatable lumbar support which is very nice. - Heated outside mirrors: This may seem like nothing but it is essential in the Northern States as in New England during snow season. - Audio system and controls are good and ergonomically well designed. - GOod package in my car (I have the 2014 Prius V 3). BT, rear camera, all air bags, GPS etc. - Plenty of storage in doors, in the storage bin between the front seats, and in the double glove box compartments. - Good road handling. -Good acceleration when in Power mode. - Relatively quiet below 55-60 mph. IN fact the car is totally silent below 10 mpg especially when running in electric mode. Between 20 and 55 mpg, the car is very quiet for an hybrid. - Reliability. It is one of the most reliable cars I ever owned in 48 years. - Retail value as a used car. According to all specialized car sites, it is one of the best value in used cars. - Longevity: A Prius V will go well over 200K miles with no problem. I have read that the main battery should be changed at around 140 K miles but from what I read it has been seldom the case for most users. The minus: - Noise at high speeds: forget about listening to any soft audio above 60 mph. It is not loud as it would be in a smaller car such as a Honda Fit or any car that size. It is noisy but not extreme. Two people on the front can have a normal conversation without having to speak loudly. Some noise is expected as compromises had to be made with sonic insulation in order to reduce the weight and therefore improve the fuel economy. - Traction in winter time: Unless equipped with very good snow tires forget about trying to climb icy hills with this car. I was stuck half the way up three years ago in such a hill in Arlington, MA. It was scary. I was stuck once on a small snow drift. In typical New Englander way, I tried to get out by moving forward and backward repeatedly. Normally I should have been able to get out in no time. With the Prius V (I assume as with all the Priuses), there is no torque as when the car is idled, the electric motor is used and not the gas engine. Trying to move the car is impossible. As soon as one of the wheels, front of back senses the smallest slipping, it stops spinning. It is very aggravating. This being said, I have used the car for six winters in the Boston area and in NH with no problems otherwise. Driving on snow is typical of a front wheel drive. On heavily snowed in highways, I found the Prius V having a better handling that many cars around me. - Paint: The car gets scratched very easily. I assume that Toyota cut down in the number of coats of paint applied in order to save weight. - Fragile front and rear bumpers: On model years 1912 to 1915 any small shock front or back will damage the bumper. This was addressed in a redesigned of the car in 2017. - The stock light bulbs are not powerful enough. This is due to the double design of the headlights in the 2012-2016. There are two different sockets and casing for low and high beans. The casing aperture for the low beans is very small. I add to put in high intensity bulbs to be able to see anything on the road. This was also addressed in the post 2016 models. Excellent car.

2020 Kia Soul review
This is the second sol I have owned and I couldn't be happier. Although both were bought in Tucson Arizona the dealership in Lawrence Kansas has been great. I haven't been notified of a recall on my car I am concerned about the anti theft device I have been hearing about and the oil ring problem in some of the 2020 sols. Just a little worried my car may have this problem. Any info would be great.

2007 Subaru Impreza review
This car has been the most reliable, toughest car I've ever owned. It has never let me down. Maintenance is very affordable. Plenty of power for all your lane passing needs and plenty of stopping power even in the most slippery conditions. The AWD system is perfect for washington winters! All electronics still work! Cars Unlimited of Santa Ana may seem like your average used car dealership as you drive by. The reviews are a hit or miss online and you really don't know what to believe. My three takeaways from this place is transparency, honesty and quality. As a car enthusiast, I found a particular vehicle here I was interested in, and I worked with Peyman Reisi, the manager of Cars Unlimited of Santa Ana and I had a great experience. From Peyman to his employees everyone was extremely courteous and helpful. They were prompt to answer any questions I had about the car prior to coming in. They provided me with a Carfax and Autocheck report upon arriving and gave me ample time to check the car out and even allowed me to take it out for a lengthy test drive. The staff was fully transparent about anything they knew about the car and also fully encouraged me to have it checked out by a mechanic or dealership of my choice if I wanted to, of course, at my cost. If there were any issues, Peyman and his team said they would work on getting it sorted out, or reimburse the cost prior to finalizing the deal. You have to remember, this is a used car dealership, not everything is going to be perfect, it isn't a new car, but they will strive to make sure they get you into a solid, reliable car. Not even a large franchise dealer can guarantee something won't go wrong a few weeks down the road, that is why Peyman stands by his cars and offers a warranty if things do happen or allow you to get it fully inspected prior to purchasing. The entire team here was not pushy nor did they use any of your typical sales pitch when I was viewing the car. They were very hands off from the moment I pulled into the parking lot and the moment I left with the car. They gave you just the right amount of attention without being overbearing and pushy on the sale, whether you buy a car or not, they will treat you the same way they'd want to be treated. I observed this with different customers they interacted with. They have a very good selection of cars, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they can help source it for you and have it fully checked out prior to you purchasing it. At the end of the day, use your due diligence when buying a used car, whether it's from a smaller dealership like this one or a large franchise one. Not every car will be perfect, but it is the actions and integrity of the dealership that will set it apart. I am sure Peyman and his team will take care of any customer that have a reasonable issue with their car in a timely manner. Thanks again Peyman, I hope to see you around!

2017 Kia Soul review
I have owned a Kia Soul Brownstone Edition for 6 years now. It hasn't given us any issues aside from a brake ABS failure in warranty. However, since Kia skimped out on immobilizers, I wouldn't get one without push button start, which is most of them, unfortunately. While they extended the warranty on the engine, they have plenty of fundamental issues with it, and also, my Kia after 4 years, has noises in front and back suspension sway bars, and the strut tower bearings make noise. While these don't need to be fixed, they make the car sound like crap. I just drove a 2019 Kona with the same amount of miles, and the suspension on that was just fine. Might be due to the larger wheels and smaller profile tires, I don't know. If Kia ever sells the EV soul in the US, I'd get that. So far, they've been good.

Excellent and ver comfortable interior design with plenty of leg room and huge trunk space which can be accessed from the backseat. Being a hybrid makes you forget about having to put gas. Great car for short and long trips to enjoy the moonroof and wonderful Soundsystem.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek review
Bought my Crosstrek from the dealer, and have owned many cars, raced cars, built cars, and even owned my own auto repair shop. The 2013 was first year out, and yes it has improved over the years so I can't leave a 5-star review. The strong points for me have been reliability and looks. Secondary has been a 4cyl with great gas mileage, and decent performance. Interior noise is a little higher than an SUV like a 4Runner, sound system sucks, and Subaru probably should have mated it with a turbo, but overall it has been a great ride, and Subaru fixed many of these issues in later editions. The AWD is amazing in the rain! For those that have the oil consumption in later years, just add engine "restore", and the issue is solved. Replace your bearing w/ the backing plates, and you should be good to go for another 100K. For the first year out, Subaru did an amazing job.

2016 Kia Soul review

2017 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen review
Purchased used S 5-speed manual with 33,000 miles on it about four years back. Just passed 100,000 miles last month. Only one problem so far, with the passenger door latch assembly. We get about 37 MPG mixed city and highway, and 45-50 MPG in interstate highway driving. FWD and snow tires work fine here in Wisconsin. The turbo motor and 5-speed provide all of the acceleration one will *actually* need, and also provide those great economy numbers. As part of the Golf platform, it's a solid car and the handling is good. The ride comfort is also good, maybe enhanced by the taller 16" tires on the S version. Simple controls, without an overly complicated radio / info system. Manual ventilation controls (knobs) are a huge plus. With the rear seats down, it has about the same cargo space as our 2009 Subaru Outback: little narrower but also a little longer. Good outward visibility. Driver seat can get a little tiring after a long drive (4 hours or more) but it's comparable with other highway vehicles we've owned. Reasonably quiet inside considering it's essentially an economy vehicle. A very nice economy vehicle, though. We like it enough that we're considering getting another one before there are no more good wagons in the market.

2014 Toyota Prius v review
So my wife picked it out Nov 2014. I was a little apprehensive, but the price was right. It had 9miles and we now have 50,056. The only issue was the front air dam between the wheels. Pull to close to the parking block and it will tear off when you back out. Never bothered to replace it. With gas on the rise our timming was really good. I'd get another V but it was discontinued. Versatile is a perfect description for it. Happy shopping 😁 It really handy size wise and mileage is super.

2014 Audi allroad review
I bought this car in early 2021 (Premium Plus package) and have had it for about a year now. I'm absolutely in love with the car - the handling, passing power, refined cabin with all the bells and whistles, aggressive body lines for a wagon and overall size. I've long owned wagons; mostly subarus with a WRX, Forester and Crosstrek XV; and was once a die hard Subie owner... until I got into this Audi and it blew my mind. Subaru is not known for its interior features or designs, so the refinement and design of the interior on the Allroad was a major change for me and I never realized how much I appreciate the bells and whistles like power seats, heated seats, Bluetooth compatibility, Nav, independent climate controls, etc. Most notably is the highway power... the "get-up" in this car at freeway speeds is absolutely outstanding and excites me everytime I need to pass. Took it on a road trip to southern Cali last summer and was very impressed with the gas mileage on the long trip (about 420 miles to a tank) and the ride is soooooo smooth and enjoyable. I long commuted from Phoenix to Sacramento (780 miles/13hrs) in my Subaru's and by hour 6-7, I was always hurting... took me about 8 hours to get to SoCal last summer and the entire duration of the drive was enjoyable and my body felt great upon arrival in the Allroad. If you like wagon's... this is the vehicle to own!

I found the vehicle I had been looking for online. A lower mileage Honda Ridgeline. The proprietor, Ehab had the foresight to offer Carfax for this vehicle. This afforded me the opportunity to view the history of the vehicle, which in review of said Carfax, found me interested. Calling, contact was made and the vehicle was discussed. I live in northern Nevada well over 500 miles from St Wannas car dealership I arraigned for my mechanically inclined nephew living in Riverside to venture to the dealership. There a test drive was afforded, questions were answered, and a deal was struck. Ehab expedited the paperwork which was valid with what was discussed and what was reported on Carfax. A test of faith was made wiring a substantial sum and soon I received the paperwork i.e. title etc. Shipping, another concern was coordinated by Ehab, and he paid an agreed amount/portion for this. Also, on his dime, he put new tires on it as well as a new battery. My nephew, who was my eyes looking at the vehicle stated Ehab was professional and true to his word about the condition of the vehicle. The vehicle was slow to get here but that was not his fault we had our biggest snowstorm of the year which delayed arrival. It got here in fine shape. While we were closing the deal I told him we missed the citrus fruit from the area, in that we lived down there years ago and knew what good citrus was all about. In the back of the vehicle were some oranges and comquats! In conclusion, I think his business at least in my experience, offers a service to the community for fair priced vehicles and amiable salesmanship. My nephew and his wife who gave the purchased vehicle his inspection said, yes, he would even consider St Wannas in the future, if he was looking for a quality used car. Respectfully DTW, Northern Nevada.

2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV review
The front seats are awful, I'll never understand why GM decided to save $20 in exchange for a terrible reputation. The headrests are bent forward so that slacker drivers who don't want to sit up and pay attention won't hurt their necks in an accident. The infotainment system was programmed by an imbecile who REALLY wants you to listen to the radio. POP-UP ADS ON RADIOS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED. The rear cargo area has no anchors or tie-down loops.. pretty absurd on a $30,000 car. Putting this grocery getter on a set of 17 inch rims was possibly the dumbest trendy thing ever, it rides like a 90s Honda Civic with the springs cut. Fortunately the majority of these things can be pretty easily fixed. Get a set of 15-in rims off of a Chevy Sonic and put 215/65r15s on it to massively improve the ride comfort, straighten the headrest legs with a vise or a sledgehammer, put some elastomeric cushions underneath the stock seat foam, get some round tie down anchors off Amazon, the round ones fit perfectly in the circular indentions in the rear cargo area and grab the spare donut out of a Buick Encore in the junkyard, it fits perfectly under the subfloor. I solved all these problems in a weekend once I gathered up the tools and parts. There's nothing special about the bolt, everything everyone likes about it applies to every electric vehicle but the bolt does have one big advantage over everything else, availability.
