Front- and all-wheel-drive versions are offered, and competitors include the Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40.

Other standard features include rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power liftgate, power-adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming audio and automatic air conditioning.

Available features include a panoramic moonroof, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a Harman Kardon surround-sound system, a sliding and reclining backseat, a head-up display, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.

The 2019 BMW X1 scores points for its roomy interior, cargo and storage spaces, good visibility and cabin materials. While its turbo four-cylinder offers good passing power, handing and brake-pedal feel disappoint.
