I Babied This Car, and It Took Care of Me!!

This car is not a hybrid. It is gas only. I purchased this car with 4,500 miles on it in 2004. As the former owner of this car, I can tell you that I never had any transmission problem with this car! It does not jerk, thump, and bump around when driving it. It is an extremely smooth ride...purrs right along! I rarely had any problems with anything while owning this car! Just basic maintenance. That is why I just purchased my third Honda Civic. Test drive this car yourself. As far as I am concerned, Honda Civic is the most well-made car around. The mileage on the car is accurate. The first 80,000 miles were highway miles that I put on while working in the Twin Cities. The next 19,000 were put on running around doing errands in a small town after retirement. There are fewer than 100,000 miles on this car yet. This car is a treasure and whoever buys it will never regret it!

Caution when buying this vehicle

There should've been a recall on transmission, but Honda refused they were aware of this issue. THE TRANSMISSION Jerks when taking off,and bumps, and down-shifts on its own.

Almost 400,000 Miles!

The IMA batteries conked out before 100,000 mile and was getting 52MPG consistantly before the batteries were done. Now, I keep driving the car without the help of the IMA with the Maintenance light on (because of the battery issue), and approaching 400,000 mile mark with no issues. Sure, I can't get the quick pickup any longer because of the IMA, but all good none the less... and I still get 52MPG. All I have ever done to the car is change the oil every 10,000 miles, starting battery ever so many years, and tires. Thats it! It just keeps on going!
