An OK Experience
December 3, 2018
The negotiation and buying process went OK, it took about an hour which is decent but this was a rainy Saturday so they weren't busy at all. I do, however, feel that an issue with the used car I purchased was deliberately hidden in order to sell the car. In the dealer pictures, taken in October, the dash photo clearly shows that there was a fault with the TPMS system. When I arrived for the test drive, this is something I checked and the light was off. As it turns out, when the system is reset, the fault indicator will come back on after 30 miles or so if the issue was not corrected, and guess what? It did, and it happened before I even managed to get the car home. My testing shows that the left side tire sensors are both bad, so I am spending $150 on 4 sensors, counting on all 4 being of the same age, and the install before my first hour of ownership is up. I am not mad about it, it is a 10 year old used car, but I do feel that the system was intentionally reset in order to hide the problem and I just dont feel good about that.
