I have been searching for my next 911 for months, though I am conflicted. Mine is a 1999 911 that I've had for 26 years. It still runs very well. The clock shows 101K. The new engine has about 4K on it, e.g., everything works. But. It is 'time,' I think. The dealership, J & S, has had a number of cars in your system. The 2023 under consideration was more a mistake on my part than an intended event. Still, the dealer's initial representative was focused and enthusiastic. It was followed by contact from a second rep. I asked for the VIN. It was given. As time passed I continued looking at other cars from other dealers. Not wanting to leave false hope, I said so. They stopped. They did not pressure me. Their people acted professionally and competently at all times. I continue to look for my car's replacement.

1994 Jaguar XJS review
I've had my 1994 Xjs 4.0L for over 15 years. It came to me from the original owner in near perfect condition with only 70,000 miles and full service records from day 1. I now have 268,000 miles on the clock and with routine maintenance, this car hasn't skipped a beat. It still passes smog checks. I'm in the process of a full suspension R&R.

1995 Jaguar XJS review
Back in 1998 I fell in love with the XJS... I was 16 at the time and I vowed that one day, I’d own one. Fast forward to February 2025, 27 years later… that dream became a reality. I was so lucky to find a near perfect, signal red convertible that had spent its life in a garage. Even up on the rack, the car was near perfect. Everything still worked perfectly and the car had just turned over on 80k miles. Every time I open my garage door, I smile. The car has that power. Additionally, on the rare sunny day when I put the top down and take it out, I am bombarded with waves, honks, “thumbs up”, and inquires. To be honest, I think it is one of the most beautiful cars to ever exist. She has power, class, sport, and comfort. I was lucky enough to get the straight 6 engine, which I hear was the best of the best. The only cons: Back seat is basically used for shopping bags, because a human couldn’t fit.,, and no glove compartment. I must say, I can live without both! LOL! Another con is people are GOING to stare, so don’t pick your nose and always look your best. I absolutely believe I could drive into a brand new Mercedes dealer and everyone on the lot would break their necks looking… I can live with that con too! All in all, my favorite car I have ever owned (had other Jags, BMW, and Cadillacs) and if I live another 50 years, she will be parked in my garage and I’m sure at 93, I’d still be smiling. Wouldn’t take $75,000 cash for her today… She’s my dream!

2016 BMW 228 review
2016 BMW 228i xdrive convertible. The best part: reliability. We are approaching 94k miles and we've had no issues with this car. It feels solid, which is remarkable for a convertible. Everything works just as it should with just routine maintenance. I have only three complaints: the sport seats are my number one complaint. The seat has great lumbar support and is supportive, but the side bolsters on the seat cushion are rock hard and hurt my hips. I have to use a pad to raise myself up a little to ease the pain. The 2nd complaint, and this is worth noting, in comfort mode the throttle can be slow to react. This is so bad it got me rear ended once because the car simply did nothing for several seconds when I pressed the pedal down. Sport mode cures this. Lastly, it requires premium gas. Ford and others get similar horsepower results with regular gas, so I think BMW should be able to also.

2017 FIAT 124 Spider review
My car has a name. I named her Felicity. I've owned 2 sports cars before, but only weekend cars. Now Felicity IS my daily driver and I love it! I get compliments and she's surly a head turner! Fiat is overall reliable.. also she's a little four cylinder engine. Specifically, that features a 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four cylinder engine. I was told to stick to the 2019 model and to avoid years 2018 AND 2020. Felicity is a 2019 and this year is selected for the best engine experience. But only has 26k miles only! so singers crossed that further expensive repairs don't kick-in in the future lol

2012 BMW 128 review
I have had convertibles since 1975. 68 Camaro, 76 Jeep CJ5, 92 Chrysler LeBaron GTS, 96 BMW 328iC, 06 Pontiac Solstice and now the 12 BMW 128i. Retired in 2017 and had to feed the desire for another convertible in 2019 and the 128i ticked all the boxes for my current desires. Fit and reliability. At 6'1" I don't fit into a MX5, so that's the 1st two check offs. RWD, so no Audi, A4 FWD in my price range. Six cylinder preferably straight 6 for perfect engine balance. Nissan 350/370 are ugly chops. Then the exotics(shut up Porsche boys) were too expensive for repairs. I learned "basic" repairs on the E36. I have done many easy maintenance jobs in my garage that allows me to have this Touring car. As a touring car having a back seat is great for a cooler, backpack, and doggy space. With the trunk space (2X) of MX5 this makes a great touring car for weeks on the road. 230hp for a car this small is great for ripping through the Rockies and the Twisted Sisters outside of Fredericksburg of Texas.

2004 Ferrari 360 Modena review
I have owned several sports cars, including a Corvette and 2 Porsches. This car is better and way more fun to drive than any car I've ever owned or driven! The steering feel is simply awesome, the sound is breathtaking (I'm not kidding). The looks are unreal. The speed and handling is not like a GTR or any other super fast car, but it definitely is not slow, and easily fast enough to entertain any normal person. I wasn't sure about getting the paddle shifting F1 transmission over a satandard 6 speed, but the more I use it, the more I enjoy it. It doesn't shift as quickly as a dual clutch transmission. It's only a sequential single clutch but it sure is quicker than if a human was shifting. It will also rev match and do perfect heel and toe downshifting, and in sport mode it does awesome double clutch upshifts with lightning speed! This car gets a little more attention than I would like, but I guess it's expected with such a beautiful car. As far as comfort goes, it is a sports car with stiff suspension, so you have to expect a firm ride. The ride is very stable though, and the chassis is very ridgid so it feels very solid. I'm not totally crazy about the stock seats, after about 40 minutes, I get a little achy from them, I think it just hits my upper back in a bad spot. The Daytona optional seats are definitely more comfortable, and worth getting if possible. The interior is very high quality. The materials are nice, it's mostly leather covered, but it is a little spartan. It is definitely classy though. Simple, but classy. I have no regrets on the purchase, and only have one question: Why did I wait so long? It is almost like a drug, I can't stop driving it! If I go 2 days without driving it I start getting anxious to drive it again! I never had that feeling before with any other car, even though I'm a car nut. If you are considering one, just do your research to make sure that it doesn't have any of the "common" issues wrong with it, and make sure all the recalls/campaigns were done on it. Make sure that it had a recent belt service (must be done every 3 years, and cost a few thousand $'s). Also make sure you do a PPI (pre purchase inspection) at a reputable dealer or private shop. This will be a few hundred dollars, but it will be a great investment. Repairs are VERY expensive, you want to minimize that. Take your time and find one that suits your needs and price range, they vary greatly. These cars can vary from $50K to $110K depending on mileage, condition, coupe or convertible, etc. I don't know about reliability yet because I've only owned it for 2 months and 700 miles.

2004 Dodge Viper review
Where do I start? The car is rare! You dont see many in good shape. That’s because ham fisted drivers will crash this car easily. No traction control. This is a true drivers car in every sense of the word. Tough to find parts (especially wheels). Most common parts are easy to find, ie fuel pump, brake parts, tires, oil filters. Interior is minimalist , plastic and light weight ( it’s not a luxury vehicle) but it’s for a purpose. You can remove the interior panels with a few twists of the screwdriver. If you are over 6’ tall , top down driving is the only way to go. Tough to get in and out of the seats without kicking the sill plate. Side pipes will singe your legs if you rub your calf on the sill for too long. Speaking of side pipes, they sound quiet in stock form and the cross over pipe is right under the cockpit. Great for New England fall days, but toasty in the summer. Keep telling yourself this is a race car and not a sports car. I installed a rear camera and gps head unit. Install was easy to run wires . Tough to judge the edges of the car. Give plenty of space when parking so you don’t scuff the wheels. Transmission- The big V 10 motor torque pulses in first and sometimes second gear at slow speeds. Trying to get around in the parking lot is not fun. If you are too heavy on the throttle off the line and you let off for a bit the Viper lurches begging to be driven. I’ve had to pull the clutch in just to re-align the rpm because I am not on a race track ringing the neck out of it. The gears need to be shifted with purpose. It is not a smooth gearbox and very primitive. Shift with authority. The shifter is very long and I will probably install a short throw handle in the near future. The motor- The V 10 is bulletproof and barely works to get you up to speed. You can quick shift from 1st to 4th and still have plenty of torque to get you going. Make sure you have a fresh battery in the car as it does work hard to turn the motor over on first start as the big pistons take a lot to turn. Brakes- The brakes are phenomenal on this car and I mean really phenomenal. The one drawback is they do create an abnormal amount of brake dust which leads to a lot of squeaking at slow speed stops. Your chrome wheels will get dirty relatively quickly. Did I mention that the brakes create an abnormal amount of dust? LOL Exterior- Low ,sleek and sexy. I get compliments everywhere I go. The car has excellent aerodynamics, the top is leakproof, and everything looks and operates as it should. One thing of note, because the body is completely fiberglass, it’s relatively easy to fix. The suspension is dialed in and very sensitive to bump steering. You MUST pay attention when driving. Excellent steering and cornering when the tires are heated up. A couple parting comments. First if you store the car for long periods of time make sure you crack the windows down about 4 inches because if the battery dies you cannot open the door as the window is wedged under the soft top. Second the battery is located in the back left corner of the trunk and it’s relatively easy to get to. Make sure you put a tender on it for the winter if you’re not driving it. Also if this car is driven at any point below 60°, you will not hook up, you’ll just spend tires so be very careful when it comes to cornering and accelerating. The car comes with run flats but rides 100 times better with regular pilot cup tires. 2013 BMW M3 review
I'd been driving 328i's for over 10 years but always wanted an M3. I only wanted an E92/S-65 version and took my time to find the right one. I found it two years ago (in 2018) at a dealership 900 miles away from where I live: It was a 2013 with only 27,800 miles on it. I flew down to check it out. It was Space Grey and had the competition package and cold weather package. Another interesting feature I discovered when I got there, was that it also had the Dinan exhaust system as well. The dealer never mentioned that and the web pictures never showed it. He had no idea of the added value. The car was spotless and I was impressed. The test drive sealed the deal. What a machine. I felt I stole it for $34,000. It has the 7 speed dual clutch tranny. I've always driven sticks, and my previous 328's were all sticks, but at 61 years of age, and with the idiot drivers in NC, I actually preferred a slushbox at this point. The dual clutch tranny is outstanding. The shifts are tighter than anything I could ever do with the manual, but if I want to go into sport mode, I can do it grabbing the console shifter or by tapping the paddles. While the M3 is more known for its speed, it is also incredibly comfortable to drive. The leather seats are well cushioned and just hug you from the side. I have a bad back, and driving this home from Miami to NC straight through, I had no additional pain at all by the end of the trip. The interior trim is fairly simple but well appointed. Mine has the wood grained dash, and also has the rear window power sun screen. Also has the recessed GPS and the premium sound system. This car is the last of a rare breed - a naturally aspirated V-8 with a sound that is simply glorious. It has three tones: a low smooth rumble at idle, a growl with normal acceleration, and an absolute roar if you jump on it. According to my 21 year old son (who owns my previous 328i coupe), I drive it too gently, though he's not always with me. :-) I let him drive it a couple of times and his face lit up as he put it through its paces in sport mode. I probably do drive it too easy most of the time. I don't track it, but I've certainly had some fun with it. It is nice to know I have the power there when I want it, especially on the interstate. Going into "M" mode is a real treat. The car just takes off like a rocket and it pins you to the rear of the seat. It's handling is firm, but not uncomfortable, and it takes corners with ease. Beyond its power and handling, this is simply a beautiful car with incredible lines, my favorite being the flared rocker panels. I originally figured I'd keep it for a couple of years until I "got it out of my system". I still haven't, and can't imagine I ever will. I still look forward to driving this every day. The newer M3's are admittedly even faster, but they sound like crap. I rarely even listen to music in mine. The sound of the S-65 engine as it goes through its paces is like a symphony to me. It now has 55,000 miles on it, and those are predominately interstate and back road miles to and from work. I'm getting ready to retire, so the yearly mileage will be even less now. I don't plan to sell it. It's just too much fun to drive. I recommend this car wholeheartedly. As the last of the naturally aspirated M cars, is destined to be a classic and I believe it will hold its value very well.

2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT review
I have had weekend cars for some years now. Started with BMW M3 (E46 competition package), moved to Porsche 911 turbo (997.1 with 6-sp), then 2015 Nissan GTR (I truly enjoyed that car) and I am on the 2018 MB AMG GTR now. I drive them only during late Spring, Summer and store them from October to April. I keep them for 2-4 summers, then move on. MB AMG GTR is the next level. It is starting to encroach into exotic car territory. Lots of attention. It is a race focused machine and by far the most uncomfortable sport car I have owned so far. But that is a good thing. Engine is at the moment one of the best in the business. Sounds awesome. It is a tricky car to drive fast so one has to be a bit more careful when compared to Nissan GTR/Porsche 911 turbo or even Porsche 911 GT3. I had a rear light failure within the first 4k miles. Fixed under warranty. Entertainment system is a bit old. In general I would say this car is worth the money.

2003 Lexus SC 430 review
After 20 years of dreaming, I found my Egyptian Sand Pearl ‘03 beauty with 142910 original miles. Got most of its records and it had great care! I have changed all the fluids and timing belt water-pump Tensioner, thermostat, hoses & radiator to drive everyday in the summer and fall! Mileage on super has been 19.8 to 22 mpg mostly city driving ! It has been nothing short of a fantastic cruiser! Make sure you do the tb and wp every 9 yrs or 90000 miles and the engine will be bulletproof.

2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF review
Car drives and handles like a true sports (not race) car. The hardtop convertible is a big plus especially if you aren’t keeping this somewhat protected from the elements. The only small complaint is where the glove box is located. I understand they have it in the center for interior constraints, but I wish they would have found some way to have it by the passenger front side.

2009 Aston Martin DB9 review
I own a newer 2014 Aston Martin DB9 Volante and can say they are absolutely awesome cars, and this is coming from someone who has owned Lamborghini, Corvettes, Dodge Viper, Mustangs, Camaro's etc... Such a beautiful car and they are in a league of their own. They certainly stand out in a crowd and unlike Corvettes and Ferraris, you will be a loner at Cars N Coffee because they are not so common.
