2026 Toyota bZ review
Toyota decided to get serious with their electric compact suv over their earlier version. Lowered the price making it competitive with all others in this class. Also making it now competitive is the increase in driving range, the XLE AWD model gets a significant boost with a 288 mile range. In addition the horsepower on the XLE AWD increased to 338 providing 0-60 in the middle 4 second range… that’s head snapping power. Also, major improvements were addressed to the charging system… now able to charge significantly faster and it comes using the NACS (North American Charging Standard) outlet connection for faster charging ( (originally called the Tesla charging connection). I personally enjoy driving the bZ around town but also on major roads. It runs quietly as an electric should but also isolates road noise. The instrument panel is different but coming from driving my plug in hybrid Prius Prime I’m used to different. I trust Toyota overall quality over all other manufacturers whether the vehicle is a traditional combustible gas engine or now electric.

From the moment I laid eyes on my 2025 Lucid Air Grand Touring, I knew this was something special. The beautiful and classy aerodynamic design immediately caught my attention, with its striking light signature and unique styling setting it apart from anything else on the road. Interior & Comfort – A Luxurious Haven Stepping inside, I was greeted by an exquisitely designed, driver-focused cabin. The materials, fit, and finish exude true luxury, and the beautifully isolated interior creates an oasis of comfort. The seating is exceptionally adjustable, allowing me to fine-tune my position for maximum support, making long commutes an absolute pleasure. Driving Dynamics – Performance Meets Refinement Having previously owned a BMW M850, I had concerns about switching brands, fearing that nothing would come close to the driving experience I was used to. However, Lucid exceeded my expectations. The three driving modes provide the perfect balance between efficiency, comfort, and exhilaration. The 819 horsepower is nothing short of breathtaking, delivering instantaneous acceleration that never fails to put a smile on my face. The handling is precise and confidence-inspiring, with steering sensitivity adjusting seamlessly based on the driving mode. Whether taking tight corners or cruising at high speeds, the car goes exactly where I want it to. Ride Comfort – Designed for Long Journeys Beyond its thrilling performance, the ride comfort is exceptional. Range & Charging – Living Up to Expectations The real-world range has been close to the advertised numbers, which is impressive given my driving habits. Charging speeds vary depending on the station and how I’ve been driving, but overall, I am very pleased with the efficiency and ease of recharging. Standout Features – More Than Just a Car The generous legroom in both front and rear, the stunning exterior design, and the ample trunk and frunk space make this car as practical as it is beautiful. Opting for the 21-inch wheels was the right decision—they enhance handling, road feel, and overall driving dynamics while also elevating the car’s appearance. Areas for Improvement – A Work in Progress Some people mention ease of entry and exit, but I personally have had no issues. The AI Voice Assistant could integrate better, but I know Lucid is actively improving it and will push updates over the air, so I have no concerns there. Final Verdict – A Game-Changer After owning Mercedes and multiple BMW models (M550, M850, 330, i4), I can confidently say that switching to Lucid was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. This car has completely redefined my expectations, and I am fully committed to the Lucid brand for as long as I can be. 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 review
I have owned our EQS 580 for about a month. It is my third Mercedes S Class vehicle, I owned a 2007 S550 4matic and subsequently a 2017 S550 4matic that I traded for the EQS 580. In addition to the typical benefits of its superior battery electric technology, the EQS is a more powerful yet quieter, more cosseting and more serene vehicle than either of my former top of the marque Mercedes cars. I measured the actual sound level inside the EQS at 73 MPH highway speed and found that it was 3db lower than than in my 2017 S class. The back seat area is not quite so opulent or roomy as those in my former ICE S class cars, but I did not opt for the highest level rear seat appointments in the EQS because we have never used the back seat for passengers except for relatively short trips in connection with social or business engagements. Even the unadorned EQS back seat is better than that of any other high end domestic or foreign brands we have owned. Our back seat passengers to date have invariably been impressed with the surroundings and comfort of the EQS. The car's lift back design provides a prodigious cargo capacity that makes it easy to pack for vacations or trips with large items. Even without lowering the rear seats, the practical capacity of the area behind the rear seat is substantially larger and more accessible than the cargo area of our Lexus SUV. The precise steering and excellent Level 2 driver assist capabilities of the EQS make driving a very easy and relaxing experience. The lack of shift points and the excellent one pedal driving capabilities of the car make operating it very satisfying. At first, the brake pedal feels a little odd when the car is in its maximum regeneration mode, but it's easy to get used to the feel, and the brakes are excellent. As with the S580, the EQS has 10 degrees of rear wheel steering that gives the vehicle a surprisingly small turning circle. It's too early to assess reliability of my EQS, but my previous ICE S550s were extremely reliable for a total of more than 200,000 aggregate miles, so I don't anticipate any problems. The onboard software, including the range planning software and the phone app, is excellent, and the hyper screen map display is unequaled. The controls, head up display and voice command system are essentially the same as those in the 2022 Mercedes S580. I opted for the augmented reality head up display, and I am very pleased with it. I am learning to drive for maximum range, and my average combined energy use so far over 1735 miles has been 327.5 wH/mile for a combined range of about 329 miles with full summer climate control engaged. Recently, I have learned to drive so as to increase the combined highway/city range to about 365 miles (295 wH/mile). The EPA range estimate is 340 miles (317 wH/mile) Edmunds got 422 miles on a full charge (255 wH/mile) in an EQS 450+, and I am working toward that goal. It will be interesting to manage the expected 20% reduction for winter range. High speed charging on the road is very fast on a 100 kW DC charger. The car will accept up to a 200 kW DC charge rate. I have charged the car on a Level 2 AC charger at about 9kW and a Level 1 charger at about 1.4 kW. The Level 1 charging is quite slow (ca. 4.5 miles/charging hour), but it is adequate in a pinch. I replaced the portable charger that came with the car with a Shell portable 40 Amp charger with a NEMA 14-50 to NEMA 5-15 adapter that will function as a level 1 or as a level 2 charger. I would not order the Mercedes charger and would apply the money toward the Shell charger if I had to do it over. Of course, the EQS 580 is very expensive, costing about as much as a similarly equipped S580, but such is the cost of top of the marque excellence. The EQS moves the Mercedes S class experience up to the next level and portends well for the continued dominance of S class luxury in our new world of electric vehicles.

2024 Kia EV9 review
One month into owning my EV9 and I can say I’m a happy customer, both for city use and highway road trips. The range is great, exterior design looks great, and I’ve been impressed with the technology and infotainment features. The map function is not great (I was used to the Android Automotive platform in my previous Polestar 2, which is best in class and apparently what Kia is now switching to next year) but everything else is excellent. No quality or performance issues at all - great initial build quality. Feels zippy, especially for such a large car. Plus, they have some amazing lease deals running right now, it’s an exceptional value.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV review
I have owned my Silverado EV RST 1st edition for 18 months. This truck is awesome! It has everything, Power, range and it just looks great. I have had probably over a hundred positive comments about this truck. I have owned several different EV's and so far it is the best. At 66,000 hard miles still original tires probably will need changed at 70k. I would recommend this truck to anyone wanting a awesome ride. I really appreciate everything about this truck. With 4 wheel steering makes u turns on a dime. With 640 hp makes passing a breeze and with super cruise makes long trips a lot better. Way to go general motors!

2026 Cadillac VISTIQ review
We've had our Vistiq Sport for only a couple weeks - so I'm sure our view will evolve. Lots of positive things to say - performance, room, handsome (not gorgeous...it's no Aviator or Land Rover) design in and out, great range (we are seeing 330+ range), features for money, good visibility and appreciate the vegan 'leather' seats. It is, however, hard to master the infotainment system - super frustrating. The lack of Apple CarPlay is missed more than I imagined (does not seem like a sustainable strategy). Perhaps once we are able to drive it without having to hit enough buttons as if we were re-tasking a drone our love for it will grow.

2026 BMW i4 Gran Coupe review
I had casually considered electric cars the last few years and this year took a hard look at electric options, specifically BMW i4 xdrive 40. I couldn't be more pleased with the "electrifing" power of the i4, which seems faster than my two previous M340s. BMW offers the advanatages of an electric vehicle with its trademark high performance and sporty handling. Every friend who has test drove my i4 has been VERY impressed.

2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E review
My first EV car. Not sure if I love this car or the fact that it is an EV. What makes this a bit different from a Tesla is that it still reminds you of a regular car in terms of gear shifting controls and displays. My car is a premium trim, dual motor and long range battery extension, so if you get a lower trim, the experience might be slightly different.

2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E review
Exterior interior design of this car is absolutely fantastic! I got the premium edition with the premium interior and performance package, including special front air, dam, and Brembo brakes in the front. I couldn’t be happier with this car and in love with it!!! the front seats are a little stiff. Maybe that’s because it only has 5000 miles on it? I just completed a 300 mile trip and loved every mile.
