2009 Toyota RAV4 review
Bought this car new in June 2009. Drove it daily for 10 years before giving it to my 16 year old son. It currently has 287,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Other than a transmission rebuild at 248,000 miles it has been essentially trouble free. I performed the typical routine maintenance: 5,000 mile oil changes, 100,000 transmission fluid changes, 100,000 coolant changes, brake service as needed, etc. At 225,000 it started to use a quart of oil between oil changes which I don't see as unreasonable for a 4 cylinder at that milage. It is a 4WD model but in all honesty I rarely needed to use 4WD to get through the snow. Front wheel only more than sufficed. I would recommend this vehicle as a used car if you find one that has been reasonably well maintained.

He allowed me fo test drive it on my own which made the test drive feel much better. Car was in clean condition and dealer had it priced under market value even after dealer fees. 2009 Toyota RAV4 review
My only issue is it uses a lot of oil they had a 2008 recall on oil consumption they did not do anything for the 2009 with the same. Uses a quart every 500 miles. Bad lower rings, Toyota knew that in 08.

With winter approaching, I was eager to acquire a reliable vehicle, so I informed my brother of the update, and we proceeded to sign the necessary paperwork the following day, on Saturday. We heard so many good things about this car/suv and this car in particular was low mileage for the year ... so we thought it the best of the cars we had seen so far ... we test drove it and we’re very happy with visibility - ease of turning radius - speed picking up - braking - Now after bringing it home and driving it in the dark - I will definitely want to get LED bulbs for better visibility But for the moment we are very happy with it right now
