Not so much a redesign as a whole new interpretation of Chevrolet’s venerable sports car, the eighth-generation Corvette — which was all-new last year — is a mid-engine two-seater with a 490-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Competitors include the Audi R8 and the Porsche 718 Cayman and 911.

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity is now standard, and the Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension is available without the Z51 Performance Package. Two new extra-cost colors are also available: Silver Flare Metallic and Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat. There’s also a new Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow interior color combination.
