  • Gelreat car for the most part.

Gelreat car for the most part. I got it used with 125k miles. So far so good knock on wood on engine coolant leak issues. But the only downside and i've never had major bad luck with ford. Except on those junky focus transmissions 2012 to 2018. Well I got 170k miles on it and my flex plate is bad or cracked. My understanding is the issue is cause by torque converter weld stud bolts not welded properly from factory. I have been confirmed by my mechanic that it is flex plate rattle. Whats crazy is there is a csp on it for that same flex plate rattle but im over the 120k mile mark. But other ford edges with my same 2.0 engine on the 2017 year model have a recall for torque converter welds and recalls are unlimited mileage. I think thats what caused my flex plate issue. I understand normal wear and tear but 170k mile when i have taken care of it, that dont seem fair.

  • Do not buy the 2017 2.

Do not buy the 2017 2.0L turbo-charged titanium. It will break your heart and pocketbook! Bought mine used at 75k miles. Kept all maintenance up to date. Initially had problem w door weather stripping on rear doors. Poor design and was repaired right away with a cheap Ford customer support bulletin job. No problem until about 130K. The transmission literally fell apart! Flex plate cracked and needs to be replaced, torque converter needs to be replaced and the transmission pump as well. This is a much more common problem than Ford wants us to know. They have recalled select Edge and MKX vehicles built within a tiny window of time for this problem. Way more vehicles, including mine, are affected than Ford wants all to know. The problem started with an “innocuous” stall as I accelerated from a stop, turning onto a busy 55 mph road. Luckily I was able to pull over immediately onto the shoulder. We could have been T-boned and maybe killed! No problems after that for a couple of weeks and then an awful racket and the shifting/downshifting issues began between 2 and 3k rpms. It would rattle at idle and as I first accelerated, but was quiet as long as I stayed at about 45 mph. There was a terrific revving and racket if the car shifted automatically while climbing or descending even slight hills. The repair is NOT covered under any current Ford program or my extended warranty.

  • My wife and I purchased our 2017 Ford Edge Titanium new

My wife and I purchased our 2017 Ford Edge Titanium new back in 2017. Great car for the first several years of ownership. At around 80k miles we noticed the car was consuming engine coolant at a faster rate than it should. We then began to notice a "sloshing" sound behind the dash along with rough idling. The issue got worse and the car began misfiring and jerking with a flashing check engine light indicator. We took it to our local Ford dealer and was told that the cause of the issue is engine coolant intrusion into cylinder #1. The only solution is a complete engine replacement. This is caused by a design flaw with the 2.0L EcoBoost engines (you can read about this issue for yourself on the internet). We haven't heard the final word from our dealership, but understand that Ford is charging its customers thousands of dollars to replace an engine that they poorly designed. I would not recommend someone purchase a used Ford Edge unless the engine had already been replaced. Very frustrating!

  • No Issues

We own this vehicle , it currently has 70,000 kms . We have had zero issues with it . The only fault of ford is that you have to pay to have new gps software installed and it won’t update automatically with wifi . The neighbourhood we live in is brand new so we needed to connect our phones to find anything when we moved here in 2019 .

  • Ford’s lost all customer focus!

Ford continues to offer non essential electronic gadgets & options without fully vetting their reliability. The huge number of Ford recalls are very disgusting! More recalls the past few years than the total number of vehicles built is very very poor engineering! Ford has basically allowed marketing to override the need to fully sort out new options/models. Customers are forced to deal with the many recallls & keep track of all the problems Ford voluntarily passed on to buyers. Not ethical or good business! Dealers are not customer friendly. They are over whelmed with recalls, take many days to even diagnose a problem & yet don’t offer courtesy vehicles while repairs are being done. Ford drivers spend more time in the Dealership than at home. Customers are literally screwed by Ford & the Dealership. I just paid over $1300 & a week without my car fixing a software & controller problem to fix the power lift gate on a 2017 Edge! That’s disgusting and completely inappropriate for Ford! No, I don’t except Ford’s response “that’s what extended warranties are for” it’s this kind of non customer focus & inferior build quality that has converted me, a life long Ford buyer & fan to Japanese produced vehicles who sort out the vehicles they sell so customers don’t have to! Lost all respect for a company I bought dozens of cars from.

  • Expecting another great Edge ownership experience

This is our second Ford Edge, this one being a 2017 Sport, and the last a 2011 Sport. We haven’t owned the 2017 but one month, but the miles driven so far remind us of the Great ownership experience of the 2011 which we owned for 11 trouble free years. I expect the same experience from this 2017 as well, due to the manner in which we maintain our vehicles.Although the Edge is a great vehicle, maintenance is key to a lasting vehicle ownership experience.

  • Terrible vibrations when accelerating

My car has the worst cabin noise/road noise of every car I have driven. It also continues to have an aggressive vibration at 2000-3000 rpm’s. It has been in the shop 4 times and continues to fail me. This is the second Edge I have owned. I really wanted to like this car.

  • All About My EDGE

I love this car. Had to put my husband in A helicopter because of a heart attack and transfer him to Mason City Hospital from New Hampton. This car beat the helicopter to the emergency center in Mason City. It is classy and sassy and very comfortable. It is very dependable and we get good service from Dan Deery Motors (Waterloo).

  • 5 yo Foird Edge 2017 Needs New Engine

I purchased my Edge 2017 from Sunnyvale Ford, CA, in 2015, was brand new. Two months after the purchase, the car suddenly stopped on the freeway, and I had to tow it away. The car never had a period without any issues. The radio button never worked. The seats are not comfortable. The cup holders have a poor design where I hit my elbow if I place a water bottle. The hatch malfunctioned 8 months after the purchase, it would not lock even if the car was parked on a flat surface. Last year I took it to the Fremont dealer, and they said it needed a new motor which cost $1200. Despite that it continued to malfunction (won't open at all). Now 5 years after the purchase (68000 miles), the car died, and two authorized dealers confirmed it needs a new engine because the engine fluids are leaking into the cylinders! Ford Motor's case manager has not shown any interest in assisting because two more weeks pass and my car has not gotten any work done. I have been without a car for 4 weeks and am very unhappy with Ford.

  • Over all happy with the car.

This car is the Sport model. Plenty of power and good gas mileage. Very good handling and comfort. Ride is a little harsh because of this model with stiffer suspension. Cruses nicely on the freeway. Fit and finish is very good.
