Brand new under 2000 KMs Ford Edge 2024 has engine noise

Brand new under 2000 KMs Ford Edge 2024 has engine noise issues. Service couldnt fix as Ford engineers decided to go cheap and removed engine cover and noise dampening lining from the hood. Such an unpleasant experience driving this loud car with engine noise as if something is going to blow anytime. Never buy Ford Edge for this unreliable quality issue

I have owned 3 Ford Explorers and am on my 2 nd Ford

I have owned 3 Ford Explorers and am on my 2 nd Ford Edge. I needed reliable transportation so I purchased new. It is a very basic model. No power seats, no auto rear gate lift and the rear seats you press down by hand and difficult I find as I have a weak back. Cloth seats, and apparently the cubic feet interior must have changed. I believe it is much smaller. Disappointed to find they are no longer manufacturing this model. I couldn’t afford the Explorer model after my husband passed away and the Escape is just too small feeling for me sitting in that driver’s seat.

2022 Ford Edge review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2022 Ford Edge?

The Ford Edge is a mid-size SUV that seats up to five people. It has a standard 250-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an available 335-hp, twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 that powers the performance-oriented ST trim level. The base engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the ST has a seven-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is standard. Competitors include the Chevrolet Blazer, Honda Passport and Hyundai Santa Fe.

What’s New on the 2022 Ford Edge?

A new Black Appearance Package includes gloss-black 19-inch wheels and black exterior accents, while a new Adventure Package features gray 18-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and gray and black accents.

What Features in the 2022 Ford Edge Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Cruise control
  • Cloth upholstery
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot (data subscription required after trial)
  • Vertically oriented 12-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Lane keep assist
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Rear parking sensors

Available features include:

  • Hands-free power liftgate
  • Remote start
  • Leather-trimmed seats
  • Heated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Wireless device charging
  • Bang & Olufsen premium stereo
  • Navigation
  • Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability

Should I Buy the 2022 Ford Edge?

The Edge drives well and offers good ride comfort, and its many standard active-safety features are welcome. The base engine that goes in most trims delivers modest power, but the high-output V-6 in the ST model is considerably stronger.
