2022 Honda Pilot review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2022 Honda Pilot?

The Honda Pilot is a three-row SUV that seats up to eight people — or seven with the available second-row captain’s chairs. The Pilot is powered by a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and is available with front- or all-wheel drive. Competitors include the Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer and Kia Telluride.

Whats New on the 2022 Honda Pilot?

The LX and EX trim levels have been dropped, and new Sport and TrailSport trims join the lineup this year. The Sport trim is the new entry-level Pilot and includes LED headlights, tri-zone automatic air conditioning, an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. The TrailSport model features standard all-wheel drive, black 18-inch wheels, black fender flares and trim, an extra 0.6 inch of ground clearance, leather upholstery with orange stitching, a power moonroof, navigation and a wireless device charger.

What Features in the 2022 Honda Pilot Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Remote start
  • Heated front seats
  • Satellite radio
  • Honda Sensing suite of active safety features

Available features include:

  • Hands-free power liftgate
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Heated second-row seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Rear-seat entertainment system
  • Front and rear parking sensors

Should I Buy the 2022 Honda Pilot?

With its roomy interior and relaxed driving manners, the Pilot is a solid choice in the three-row SUV class. Its touchscreen multimedia system isn’t the easiest to use, however, and if you want second-row captain’s chairs you have to get one of the higher trim levels.

Great car on performance with loud road noise.

No complaints overall on performance and durability. Only drawbacks is road noise. If you like to avoid road noise, this car is not for you. noise is too much than expected. i even went to Honda dealer to report noise, they replied me this is normal honda noise.

poor security system, Easy to be stollen

Great car for long run, but easy to be stollen! This is one of the big news in Canada. Honda has very poor security or antitheft system in their car. Hackers can hack into the remote key easily.
