Key Points

  • The 2026 Jeep Compass is priced from $30,990 (all prices include $1,995 destination charge).
  • Tariff uncertainty has next-generation Compass on hold
  • More standard luxury equipment on Trailhawk

A year ago, Jeep announced that a new Compass was coming for the 2026 model year. That vehicle was revealed this past May, but it is not on sale in the U.S. yet due to unstable tariffs on vehicles imported into the country. (The next-gen vehicle is built in Canada.) And so, for 2026, Americans get the old Compass, which is now in its 10th model year.

What’s New?

With little time to plan a 2026 extension of the previous-generation model, Jeep gives the Compass a revised trim ladder, a couple of new colors and more standard equipment on the adventure-oriented Trailhawk.

Release Date and Pricing

The 2026 Jeep Compass is on sale now. Full line pricing is as follows:

  • Latitude: $30,990
  • Latitude Altitude: $32,985
  • Limited: $34,885
  • Limited Altitude: $36,880
  • Trailhawk: $35,390

Trim Levels and Safety Features

The Compass is the cheapest Jeep, but even the base Latitude trim comes with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Other standard equipment on the Latitude includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry and start, remote start, a six-speaker audio system, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Available on the Latitude and Limited, the Altitude Package includes black wheels and trim inside and out, as well as different finishes for the grille and badges.

While the delayed next-generation Compass boasts semi-autonomous driving capability, the 2026 model we get for now gets a fairly typical safety suite. Standard technologies include forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure steering assist, blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor and automatic high beams.

Upgrading to the Limited nets buyers a black roof, hands-free power liftgate and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Inside, the Limited sports synthetic leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation, Alexa Built-In and satellite radio. In addition to its black trim, the Limited Altitude also gets 19-inch wheels.

Aimed at people looking to tap into Jeep’s reputation for off-road capability, the Trailhawk sports black 17-inch wheels wearing all-terrain tires; skid plates to protect the front suspension, fuel tank and driveline; and red front and rear tow hooks. The Trailhawk Convenience Group, previously a $2,575 option on the Trailhawk, is standard on the trim for 2026. It consists of a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a windshield-wiper de-icer and remote start.

Adaptive cruise control is optional on the Latitude; it and rear parking sensors are standard on the Limited and Trailhawk.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

A 200-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine powers the 2026 Compass with 221 pounds-feet of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The Compass returns an EPA-rated 23/31/26 mpg.
