our expert's take

What Is the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover?

The Range Rover is the pinnacle of Land Rover’s extensive lineup of elegant SUVs with go-anywhere capabilities. Fresh from a redesign for 2022 — one that oddly saw this all-new model sold alongside the outgoing version — the 2023 Range Rover is available with a mild-hybrid six-cylinder, a twin-turbo V-8 and a new plug-in hybrid powertrain. All-wheel drive is standard. Competitors include the Bentley Bentayga, BMW X7, Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

What’s New on the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover?

This marks the first model year in which this redesigned Range Rover doesn’t share showroom space with the previous iteration. A plug-in hybrid, the P440e, joins the range and features a 3.0-liter inline-six and electric motor. Total output is 434 horsepower, and its electric-only driving range is estimated at 48 miles. An all-electric model is reportedly in the works for 2024.

What Features in the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 13.7-inch digital gauge cluster
  • 13.1-inch touchscreen
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wireless device charging
  • Amazon Alexa
  • Satellite radio
  • 14-speaker audio system
  • Air suspension
  • 21-inch alloy wheels
  • Leather seating
  • Heated front seats
  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Blind spot warning
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane departure steering assist

Available features include:

  • Heated and ventilated massaging front seats
  • Refrigerated center console
  • Third-row seating
  • 34-speaker audio system
  • Rear-seat entertainment system
  • Quad-zone climate control
  • Hands-free park assist
  • 23-inch alloy wheels
  • Heated and ventilated massaging second-row seats

Should I Buy the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover?

If you have the means, the 2023 Land Rover Range Rover is one of the most luxurious and refined SUVs available today. Granted, pricier and faster rivals are now available from the likes of Bentley, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce, yet the Range Rover continues to stand apart with impeccable all-terrain capabilities and sheer refinement. Despite its substantial size and weight, it’s also agile around town and doesn’t feel unwieldy. The biggest issue is simply its starting price, which is now north of $100,000.
