Service Advisor Ted Weinsziehr is the main reason I will recommend this dealership to anyone. My wife (also known as "my boss") first took our vehicle to another GMC dealership on the south side of town, and our experience there was terrible. Our 2017 Yukon Denali was making a noise, but they couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. Because they couldn't identify the source of the problem, our warranty company wasn't going to approve repairs. To make matters worse, that dealership misled my wife, me, and the warranty company about work they claimed to have completed. After talking with several friends and a mechanic we trust, everyone recommended that we take our vehicle to Jim Ellis GMC, located at 5862 Peachtree Blvd. From the moment we arrived, Ted Weinsziehr made a great impression. He greeted us politely and asked how he could help. I explained that the vehicle would begin making the noise after about ten minutes of driving. Once Ted heard the sound, he immediately started the paperwork to have a diagnostic performed. He told us he would have an answer within 48 hours and he actually delivered in less than 48 hours. Ted provided outstanding customer service throughout the entire process. Every time my wife or I called, he either responded within minutes or returned our call within 24 hours. He was professional, honest, knowledgeable, and kept us informed every step of the way. It's rare to find someone who genuinely cares about their customers the way Ted does. I also want to recognize Nicole. Every time I called, she was friendly, kind, and welcoming. She always had a pleasant attitude when I asked to be transferred to Ted, and that level of professionalism did not go unnoticed. We can't thank Ted enough for everything he did for us. If you're looking for honest, dependable service, I highly recommend taking your vehicle to Jim Ellis GMC and asking for Ted Weinsziehr. If I could give him a 10-star rating, I absolutely would. 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 review
Great truck to own. The 2023 GMC Sierra Denali with the 6.2L engine delivers excellent power, smooth performance, and a refined driving experience. The ride quality, interior comfort, and overall build quality are outstanding. I have had no issues whatsoever, and it has been a reliable, enjoyable vehicle from day one. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a premium full-size truck.

2025 GMC Sierra 1500 review
I have the 1500 double cab with standard bed. The reason I have this vehicle is I really like the 6.5 foot bed. The crew cab with same bed is just too long. The things I dislike about this model is that it only comes in the SLE model. For the 2025 that means the external mirrors do NOT have a power fold in and it does not have a seat memory for more that one driver. The power fold in for the mirrors is extremely important to me.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 review
I own a 2023 Sierra 1500 Elevation equipped with the 2.7L TurboMax, and it’s been outstanding. It currently has 23,000 flawless miles. I’ll admit, I was skeptical of the 2.7 at first, but I jumped in feet-first and have never looked back. Living in Colorado, I regularly tow a 5,000-pound travel trailer through the Rockies with zero performance issues. The truck pulls confidently, handles grades with ease, and still delivers impressive fuel economy—23–24 mpg on the highway and about 18 mpg in town. I couldn’t be happier with this setup. If there is a negative to mention, that would be that after three years of ownership, the black wheels havent grown on me, and Im beginning to hate em. :) Lastly, the mpg while towing drops to 9mpg which is similar to that of a V8. All said, its been a great truck. :)

A couple of weeks ago I bought a used 2011 Toyota RAV4 Sport. My sales lady, Joyce, was very communicative and prompt to send me information about the vehicle prior to me coming to take a look at it. She was very well mannered, chill, and friendly. I was not going to buy the Rav4 at the listing price, and I wish I had tried to work the price down a little lower, but I am mostly satisfied with the price I paid and the condition of the vehicle. One neat thing is the Beaver Benefits package. Since my vehicle was sold as-is, it didn't come with every Beaver Benefit on the brochure, but it came with several that might come in handy. But I live in Athens GA, so Beaver Toyota of Cumming is a bit of a drive for me. Nonetheless, I might be able to take advantage of a few of the benefits over time.

Our 2013 Terrain was purchased from Colonial back in 2016. It has almost 222,000 miles on it. Still performing well. We always get great service at Colonial. Kimberly is our service representative. She does a great job. This time was a fluky thing. The only key we had was lost and we had to get a new set of keys. A frustrating situation was made easier with help from Colonial and Kimberly.
2022 GMC Sierra 1500 review
Waiting for the Refreshed 2022 AT4 was well worth it! With all the manufacturing issues today, building and shipping was slow, but understandable. Love the truck and the features! Fit is perfect and quality is #1. Pricing was too high but all vehicles are running this way. You get what you pay for and this truck is perfect! I have owned many trucks and this by far is the best. The latest features are beyond most other makes and GM has thought this truck through from front to rear.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 review
I have a 2023 GMC Sierra Elevation crew cab 4x4 with the 2.7 Turbomax. Bought the truck used as CarBravo certified with 42k miles. I like the truck overall but have a couple of specific things that I would like to share: 1. If you are used to a V8, the 2.7 performance seems comparable to me, but the sound of the engine constantly reminds you that you are actually driving a 4 cylinder. It also feels a little more restrained than a V8 would feel in my opinion. If you’re looking for a V8 feel, skip the turbo for sure. It’s not a bad engine, just a different driving experience. 2. If you are considering this or any other GM truck, know that the factory wax coating on the frame rails is garbage. It comes off very easily and the frame rusts when that happens. Fortunately, mine isn’t too bad, and I have a plan to fix it, but it’s a maintenance pain that doesn’t have to be there. Fixing this is also an added cost I didn’t expect. Ford, Ram and Toyota all use an electro-coating process that seems to be better. The Sierra is a good truck overall, just know what you’re buying ahead of time.

2022 GMC Sierra 1500 review
My 2022 GMC Sierra 3.0 Duramax pickup truck is a good truck. I work on a farm and I also drive an hour to see my girlfriend. For the farm, it has excellent towing capability and for the hour long drive to go see my girlfriend, depending on the weather for traveling, I can get up to 35 miles to the gallon!

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 review

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 review
I purchased a new 2019 SLT with the X1 package. It has the Red Quartz Tintcoat paint. I usually never leave reviews, but honestly this is the most comfortable, nicest loking truck I've owned , and I've ownwd alot of them. The only issues I've had was the brake software was flawed, took it to the dealer on recall and they installed a new software patch, Other then that I love the styling, performance and the interior is very nice. No regrets

2025 GMC Sierra 1500 review
I bought this after going to the dealer just to look at colors. I had a 2016 Chevy 1500 LTZ that I loved. There was my down payment and took this Denali home. Only 2 options. Paint and moonroof. I thought my chevy with 3.42 gears was quick. This one goes with 3.23's. The ride is great. Fit and finish are perfect. My only complaint is this Bose/Apple play radio is not what the 2016 Bose was.

2026 GMC Sierra 1500 review
I bought the AT 4 version. Loaded. Has good ground clearance. It's powered with a 3.0 l turbocharged diesel. Has lots of horsepower and torque. I've had no problem but I talked to my friend who's a certified mechanic and they're having a lot of problems with the engine blowing up at very low mileage. A lot of the time less than 15,000. Some of them have problems with the thrust bearings failing causing increased crankshaft play back and forth to the point where the timing chain and the rubber belt that runs the oil pump can fail. The engine has been described as grenading. They're basically self-destructs. There's a specific power code that indicates low oil pressure and allowed rattle sound before it finally fails. I heard that the engines were on back order, so if you're one of the unfortunates you can plan on waiting 10 or 12 weeks or longer to get your truck back. They have to remove the cab completely to swap motors. But overall I love the truck. It's a big improvement over the 2022 I just traded in.

2026 GMC Sierra 1500 review
A little expensive, but comfortable, quiet, smooth ride. Great performance out of the 6.2L and better than expected fuel economy in the low 20s. Outstanding interior and good looking exterior, especially in the Downpour Metallic color. I don’t have 700 miles on it yet and have owned it for 3 weeks. Therefore, I can’t pass judgement yet on the reliability, but so far I am very satisfied. This replaced an 8 year old Ford F150 that served me quite well with only a couple of issues in the 100,000 plus miles.

2020 GMC Sierra 1500 review
Overall a great vehicle but I’m always concerned about potential DFM & 8L90 transmission problems. I had to replace four fuel injectors around 60,000 miles. I recently replaced a speed sensor in the transmission but this was at 110,000 miles. Others have not been so fortunate. This is not a vehicle built to be “hot rodded”. I strongly recommend 5,000 mile oil changes. Otherwise it’s absolutely the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Hope to drive it to 250k or so.
