2024 Honda HR-V review
So slow it’s almost unsafe! Front seats are not comfortable. Blind spot in side mirrors. Everything else is good. Base engine needs 40 more horses. Sport trim should have a turbo engine.

2018 Honda HR-V review
Some early reviewers did not like the power, but it has been fine for me. I am not racing anyone. I like the “magic seat” capability. That has been useful many times. Driven literally across the country — California to Florida — with little fatigue. 60,000 miles and no maintenance issues.

Alonzo went above and beyond today helping me And I want him to be. acknowledge for such a wonderful job he did. I'm a retired police officer and a Vietnam veteran and it was a pleasure dealing with him today. I also had the 10% off coupon from the coupon book I received when I bought my car. He made sure to give me the discount and told me to hold onto the coupon for next time. THANK YOU ALONZO you know how to treat a customer and to keep them coming back.I sent another friend over to your service department from new Lennox. He wasn't happy with his service department. Smart looking. Very roomy for a car in such a small class. Handles very well and rides nice on most roads. Its a little bouncy on very bumpy roads which is to be expected for a small vehicle. We love it.

2023 Honda HR-V review
For: Safety, Reliability, 2.0 liter K series engine has been proven to be a long lasting, relatively low maintenance power plant devoid of direct fuel injection, turbo .. The engine is smooth and quiet unless pushed hard. The chassis is capable. The ride good for this class of vehicle, especially if fitted with improved tires such as the Michelin Defender 2. Brakes are good. Headlights decent, Cabin room is good. Knee room more than adequate in the rear seats. Overall a well thought out design. Negatives : If you drive fast this is not the vehicle for you. Fuel economy is not as good as direct injection competitors. Don’t expect to tow anything as it’s a CVT. The rumored upcoming hybrid will make this an even better vehicle.

2016 Honda HR-V review
Overall, it's great! It's a Honda and it is reliable and holds up well over time! It can be parked anywhere! However, the heater is terrible - takes over 20 minutes to warm up the car inside (my 1996 Civic and 2002 CR-V had fantastic heaters, I don't know what Honda's done to ruin their heaters). It is also bad for road noise, it is difficult to hear passengers because of all the road noise on a highway!

We recently purchased a Honda Ridgeline after shopping at three different dealerships and considering three different makes and models of trucks. What ultimately stood out to us — beyond the Ridgeline itself — was the exceptional customer service we received from Daniel De La Torre Jr., aka “Junior.” From our very first interaction, Daniel De La Torre "Junior" was calm, knowledgeable, informative, and, most importantly, never pushy. At the other dealerships, we were constantly asked what other trucks we were considering, told they could make us a “killer deal,” or kept at the dealership while another manager came over to try to close the sale. Junior never did any of that. Instead, he listened. He asked what was important to us, answered our questions honestly, and gave us the information we needed to make our own decision. The Honda Ridgeline is a great truck and in many ways sells itself, but Junior was absolutely a major factor in why we ultimately chose the Ridgeline over the other makes and models we were considering. What impressed us most was that we never felt like Junior was trying to “sell” us something. When discussing different options and features, he explained them without trying to convince us that we needed every upgrade. He even shared some of his own experiences and what works for his family, while reminding us that we needed to choose what worked best for ours. That approach really built our trust. Junior also went above and beyond to find the exact exterior and interior color combination we wanted, even though his dealership did not have it in stock. Whenever a new Ridgeline came in, he would send us pictures and keep us updated. I still remember him telling us, “Don’t worry, we will get you the truck you want.” And he did! When it came time to make the purchase, he took the time to go over the details and fine print so we understood the whole picture. His recommendations actually made sense based on what we had told him was important to us. Even after the sale was complete, he didn’t rush us out the door. He sat with us, walked us through the truck’s features and technology, and even showed us which apps to download so we could get the most out of our new Ridgeline. That is what customer service should be. We also had an excellent experience with our finance manager, David Castellanos. David was knowledgeable, patient, personable, and made what can sometimes be the least enjoyable part of purchasing a vehicle surprisingly easy. He clearly explained all of the financing information and took the time to answer our questions without making the conversation feel like it was just about numbers. When it came to warranties and additional coverage, he didn’t simply try to sell us everything available. He listened to how we planned to use the truck, explained the different options, and helped us determine which coverage actually made sense for us. There was no pressure and no rushing, and he never made us feel uncomfortable or foolish for questioning whether we needed a particular warranty. We really appreciated David’s honesty, patience, knowledge, and personality throughout the entire finance process. When you are shopping across different makes and models, the vehicle itself is obviously important — but so is the experience and the people you are working with. We purchased the Honda Ridgeline because we loved the truck, but Junior and the way he treated us throughout the process played a significant role in our decision. If you are shopping for a Honda, I highly recommend asking for Daniel De La Torre Jr. — “Junior.” He is an example of what the car-buying experience and customer service SHOULD be. And when it comes time for financing, you will be in great hands with David Castellanos as well. Thank you both for making such a major purchase such a positive experience. 2024 Honda HR-V review
I have owned my HR-V for about a month. Did have to tint my windows was no big deal. I think it had great power has alot on get up and go. Just the right size for me. Still learning what all the buttons do. Overall I am very pleased. First Honda owned.

2017 Honda HR-V review
I own a 2017 Honda HRV 1.5 Petrol FW CVT (European model). I’m the first owner and I just reached 220k Kilometers. No issues so far except for a start/stop button replacement and a scheduled suspension replacement (200k). All the services and oil changes were made on time according to the manual. I also started doing the oil/fluid changes (engine & cvt transmission) in less kilometers than the proposed schedule once the car reached 180k kilometers. The European edition 1.5 petrol motor responds well but I believe that a bigger motor would be more suitable for the specific model. I’ve traveled a lot on asphalt, gravel and snow (with a good pair of snow tires) and in temperatures varying between 14 to 113 Fehrenheit.

2024 Honda HR-V review
Love how car handles. The HRV is wonderful on traveling bc I have arthritis and it was a pleasure to drive on long trips. It’s smooth riding and an attractive car. It is easier to get into than the CRV bc I am short (5’2) so I had to climb up into CRV but not HRV.

2020 Honda HR-V review
The pros say this about the car: pros - fantastic storage - taught suspension - very reliable drivetrain cons - rough ride - weak engine - difficult to use climate controls - lack of standard features What I say, I bought the sport model, as a replacement to a Mazda 3, I wanted a slightly less tight suspension, but still a tight ride. The sport model has the easier climate controls, which I like. The CVT took some getting used to, my Mazda had the slickest automatic tranny of any car I know of (with a perfect manual mode), but I can get about 80% of the utility with the HRV Sport mode. Drive vs Sport mode HRV detailed writeup: Drive has a softer gas pedal map, and the CVT shifts up when you let off the gas to give you no engine weight at all, so braking is required to slow down. Sport mode has a more aggressive gas pedal map making the engine feel more powerful, and simulates engine weight. Drive also keeps the RPMs down more aggressively than sport which lets the engine rev more freely. Sport mode's easier engine revving obviates the need to use paddles to downshift for more power, you just shift into sport. And sport modes engine weight eliminates the need to downshift for more engine weight, you just switch between drive and sport, and most of what you need a manual mode for is done. There is even a dashboard indicator if you are in sport or drive so you don't need to look down if you forget which mode you are in. So I shift back and forth a lot, and don't use the paddle shifters at all. Sport mode has a very interesting effect with the paddle shifters. In sport using a paddle shifter puts you in 'manual mode' until you shift out of sport into drive. In drive the paddle shifter times out after about 10 seconds and returns to automatic mode. So sport has a dual use, it can function as a full manual mode, and if you stay off the paddle shifters, affects engine weight and accelerator maps, but still shifts automatically (I find sport in automatic mode a lot more useful). Personally I think paddle shifters are a joke, because they are only useful in a straight line. You gonna drive a twisty mountain road and keep the steering wheel perfectly level all the time so you can use the paddles? No Way! Useless! But sport mode is so good you don't need the silly paddles. On to the cargo capacity. I am a one vehicle kind of person, so I want a do-it-all kind of vehicle. ppl say the magic seats are a gimmick, but they are a really useful gimmick. The enormous storage for such a small vehicle is one of the reasons I love this car. As for the suspension, it is softer than my Mazda but still pretty tight, this hits the sweet spot for my aging back. The sport model also has a lower steering ratio for a more sporty feel, which I really like. The increased turning radius is a drag though, but you get used to it. The other cons don't bother me at all, this car feels like the lap of luxury to me, but that's an individual thing. A word about the eco button, the only thing I notice is it reduces the air conditioner's power, so I leave it on for cooler days, and turn it off for hot days. I love that this car is small, I like cars that are easy to park, and easy to zip through tight spaces. The engine is 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. Up to about 50 mph you don't notice it being underpowered. On the highway it isn't going to be a great passer on a 2-lane road, other than that it is plenty fast for me. The upside is the gas mileage, which I also like. Basically this is the best car I have ever owned. I like small utilitarian cars that are on the cute side, are fun to drive, and this one fits the bill beautifully. I don' drive to work any more, but this car would be a great commuter IMHO. In traffic you might want the EX for the adaptive cruise control.
