I am so THANKFUL for Carli here at JC Lewis service. In 2021, we bought a brand new CX5 and drove our way from IL to Savannah. There, I left the new car and my daughter. Being 700+ miles away, I get very anxious about her dealing with "dealerships" and possibly being taken advantage of. Recently the car just "stopped" and had an emergency brake issue. We had the car towed to JC Lewis where Carli and the service team went to work. I cannot tell you how WONDERFUL, PATIENT, UNDERSTANDING, INFORMATIVE, KIND, all the feel-good words that Carli was and made me feel SO MUCH BETTER about my daughter having to deal with this. They had the car for about 3 weeks, provided a courtesy car and made sure to go over everything, made the repairs and then some. There were other issues that arose while they had it and I anxiously waited for a bill that could be in the thousands, but Carli was diligent in making sure anything that was covered under warranty, was. I cannot tell you how much I APPRECIATE her and her constant communication over the past 3 weeks. She didn't have to go that extra mile to put me at ease, as my daughter IS 26 :) but she did, and I am SO relieved. Seeing as this is the only Mazda dealership near my daughter in Savannah, she'll continue to bring her car there for all services. I did a lot of "homework" before we bought our Mazda's and if you're on the fence, Mazda (CX5) is the way to go & JC Lewis Mazda is the place for all your service needs. Thanks again Carli! Purchase: 2025 Mazda3 2.5 S Carbon Edition SDN AWD with a Polymetal Gray Metallic exterior with a red leather interior. We could not ask for a better experience at Whitten Bros. Mazda. From the Production Specialist Joseph Sparkman to the Sales Manager Ryan Phillips to the Finance Manager Matt Parrish, our experience buying a 2025 Mazda3 was worth the time and money spent. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, making my daughter and I confident in buying her first new ride and joining the Mazda family. I have always bought Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, and Nissan vehicles. I never even bought a Mazda until we stopped by Whitten Bros. Mazda by chance. After talking to the Sales team, I realized it was an easy decision. The vehicle ratings for performance, safety, and liability were outstanding. The staff explained the facts about the vehicle, and the price was better than the competition. My daughter is thrilled with the Mazda3, and I have peace of mind that she is in a safe and reliable vehicle. 2026 Mazda CX-90 review
3.3 Turb Premium Plus The Bottom Line I really want to love this car. It looks sharp on the road, and the dealership/salesperson experience was fantastic. However, living with it daily on a Premium Plus trim has revealed several glaring design and engineering flaws. From severe turbo lag to a center console layout that feels downright poorly thought out, it’s hard to fully recommend this specific setup. PROS Exterior Styling: The car looks great and has a sleek, modern presence. Dealership Experience: The buying process and the salesman were top-notch. CONS Severe Turbo Lag: When you press the gas pedal to the ground, there is a massive delay before the turbo kicks in and the car actually starts moving. It’s completely unresponsive and frustrating when you need immediate power to merge or pull out quickly. I'm ultimately just not a fan of this turbo. Poor Cup Holder Placement: The cup holders are far too small for modern cups. Worse yet, if you aren't incredibly careful when putting a drink into the holder, it is very easy to accidentally knock the shifter straight into Neutral while driving. Awkward Shifter Design: The shifter requires you to notch it over to the side, which is a lot to get used to. Because it doesn't feel fluid, it's far too easy to forget to put the car all the way into Park when getting out. Disappointing Storage: The interior storage is severely lacking. The center console bin is incredibly shallow, and there is almost no hidden storage space underneath the trunk floor panel. Subpar "Premium" Features: For a near-top trim, it’s just not that great. There is no option for an automatic easy-exit seat (where the seat slides back when you turn the car off). Furthermore, there is no remote start on the physical key fob; you are forced to pay a monthly fee for an app subscription just to start your car. Questionable Interior Build Quality: The leather/pleather area right around the door handles moves around a lot. There is a ton of play in that trim piece, which makes me worry it won't last long-term. Advice to Buyers If you are looking at the Premium Plus trim expecting a seamless, high-end experience, pay very close attention to the center console layout and the throttle response during your test drive. It has a lot of potential, but the daily quirks are tough to overlook.
