So let me tell you about this whole car-buying adventure... it started with me innocently "just looking." You know how that goes. I hopped on Edmunds, then slid over to the dealership website, and there it was... the Subaru Crosstrek. Blue. Not just any blue--that blue. The kind that makes you start rearranging your budget and your life decisions at the same time. Of course, I did what any reasonable person does--I went and had a little chat with ChatGPT, plugging in numbers like I suddenly had a finance degree. Credit score, trade-in, price... the whole works. Meanwhile, a salesman named Kevin texts me, asks what I want, gets my payoff, and says he'll get back to me the next day. Well... "the next day" gave me plenty of time to panic. After thinking it over (and probably overthinking it just a little), we convinced ourselves, "Yeah... we probably can't afford that Crosstrek." So I text Kevin and basically say, "Never mind, false alarm, ignore my dreams." ONE HOUR later... Kevin calls. This man comes back with numbers. Real numbers. Good numbers. "Wait a second... those are our numbers." And then he drops the kicker--it's for the SAME blue Crosstrek I had my heart set on. Y'all... we bought the car. For a better deal than we ever expected. And Kevin? That man didn't just sell a car--he showed up, followed through, and treated us like we mattered. In a world where you expect a sales pitch, he gave us honesty, patience, and somehow... our blue Crosstrek. Moral of the story: sometimes you say "never mind," and God (and Kevin) say, "oh no you don't."

AND it didn’t take countless hours to make the purchase. Yaay!! Our salesperson was named Santiago, and he was extremely helpful in answering our questions, and showing us all the details about the car we ended up buying. I was expecting some type of dealer fine print to pull the rug from under us, or some excuse about why the price was going to be higher, but everything was clear and accurate (I like to research cars before I even go to a dealership to look at them). We got way more than I expected for our trade-in, we were able to take advantage of Mazda’s financing deal AND special discounts, and Santiago even took our photo with the new car once we were done (and put it in a frame for us). Seriously?! I’ve NEVER had a dealer/salesperson come anywhere close to this level of customer service. 10-stars for McDonald Mazda, Santiago, and Johnny. You know they made a lasting impression because we still remember their names a month after buying our car! :-)
