2012 Toyota Matrix review
I have entertained the thought of buying a matrix every since my daughter rented one for a short road trip over five years ago. I was impressed with the handling and feel of the car ( hers was the base model). I purchased the S model 2010 certified used six months ago. I am a teacher full time and I am also a artisan/crafter, doing arts and crafts shows six months out of the year. The cargo space in this car is incredible, holds all my teaching supplies as well my crafting inventory when I do my shows. This car is eye catching. people give me compliments on the styling all the time.I have taken my car on the freeway for up to 5 hour road trips it purrrrrrs and handles well (very good on gas mileage). This is the second toyota That I have purchased, previously owned a solara camry that I loved. This car has captured my loyalty as well. I am 55 years old but this car has a light , airy, carefree feel that makes me feel 25 again.

2012 Toyota Matrix review
Wanted a car easy to drive, sits up a bit higher, white, 4door. No complicated cockpit, reliable.. Son said to check out Matrix, so I went and got one. Dealership most helpful. I am an Ol' lady (83) and do not shop or fool around. ( well, you know what I mean) so I am happy, though it does not ride like a Rolls. I did not pay for a Rolls, either. JR

2013 Toyota Matrix review
I owned 2006 Matrix and loved that car and so I purchased new 2013 model and hand down the older one to my daughter. Both cars were manual transmission, the ride is little bumpy but I don't care, great economy, great room for stuff like my push mower and very reliable, I don't have to worry about what is going to break next. Unfortunately Toyota stopped making them my 2013 model is the last year.

2009 Toyota Matrix review
I've owned my 2009 Matrix XRS since 2008 and it has been a great & reliable car that has only required regular maintenance to keep it going. I get 28-30mpg on the highway and even though I am 6'3", I am very comfortable in the driver's seat. My one complaint is the high performance tires that come on the XRS trimline are expensive and wear out much more quickly than the recommended ~40-50K mile range. I've driven my Matrix 108K miles and plan on keeping it for much much longer.

2010 Toyota Matrix review
Overall, I'm very pleased with my vehicle. Bought it Certified Used with only 300 miles on the odo; saw it on this website. It would have been nicer if it had the optional 400 watt JBL and a sunroof, but I'm very happy it has AWD. Vehicle came with optional, All Weather Guard Package - Outside Mirrors w/Electric Remote & Heater; Rear Seat Heater Ducts. I gave the vehicle 'good,' not excellent, under Reliability because of what I thought was a premature brake wear issue; four new rotors @ 28K miles :( Gave the vehicle 'good,' not excellent under Comfort, drivers seat leg room isn't that great for a person who is 6'4"; but I've managed. An excellent under Interior Design, next to the 12v plug is a 110v household plug outlet. An excellent under Performance, the 2.4L is no slouch when it comes to merging on the interstate. Leg room in the second row is good and folds flat horizontally (if I were to take a carpenter's level, the little bubble would be in the center). Something I 'really' like about the 2009/2010 models, is that the front passenger seat folds flat. I was able to transport six (6) - two by eight foot (2 X 8ft) long, rigid foam sheets from a big box hardware store. Other than the forementioned brake issues, no problems; just turned 65K miles.

2004 Toyota Matrix review
What a car! Roomy, the seats are very comfortable. The back seats lay flat so plenty of room.to load it up.. very low maintenance. The engine is bullet proof. I bought mine with 78k and now has 246k. Still get 35-38 mpg but to get that you have to drive speed limits. xxxxxxthru snow over my hood. I keep a 40lb bag of litter in the back. One of the best cars I ever owned. I love this car despite the canary yellow.

This is really a great car and has served us so well. We were going to drive it until it died (a long way off) but got a deal on a family member's car that I could not pass up. We found a [surprisingly] sought-after example of a Honda Element at Midwest Auto, for our son - four hours away from our home. A 22yr old car, with over 100k miles on the odo. I expected a decent car with some issues, for what I paid. Instead, I got the cleanest Vtec the local, mobile mechanic had ever seen. He climbed all over that car for 1.5 hours and thoroughly drove and code tested it - both past/recent codes and “likely fail” codes. I have a four year old, bought-new minivan that wouldn’t have tested that clean. I drove the four hours home with no trepidation whatsoever. I feel like I stole this car. The mechanic told me that he sees a lot of “good cars” come out of Midwest. Not only was the sale easy, no-pressure and quick, (as we knew what we wanted), they were accommodating and incredibly friendly. I’ve owned a lot of cars and after what I experienced, I would buy from this dealer sight-unseen and ship with no fear. ANY used car WILL have some issues - new ones do now! - but this one doesn’t need anything but what anyone should do for any car. It’s getting a fresh alignment and a new battery. That’s it. This is easily the cleanest decades-old ride I’ve ever bought. Five stars.

2010 Toyota Matrix review
I really like my Matrix-S. Using no-ethanol gasoline is recommended for optimum performance. It is able to fit 8-foot long items inside with the passenger seat folded down. I am fairly tall, so the little bit of extra bit of headroom I get with the sunroof is nice. With regular, recommended maintenance, I haven’t had any issues or breakdowns. [knock on wood] If you have a chance and if it’s the right fit, definitely pick one up.
