Out of State - From the North!
December 3, 2018
I was in the market for a used Ford Transit T250 High Roof Extended. There isn't a large selection of the extended models available. There were a couple much closer to me, but this dealership had the one we wanted, with low miles, and the best price. However, it was 4 hours away (one-way). I didn't want to drive down twice, so I needed to use the data on the website, speak with them on the phone, and trust that the vehicle was going to be exactly what was expected. Coming from four hours away, one thing I liked was the fact there were a ton of photos of the vehicle and a video. I actually didn't even look at the video, but I could see literally every square inch of the van. It was spotless. I then spoke with the General Manager, Jason, who runs the dealership with his father on the phone. Jason told me all about the vehicle and I got a good feeling that it was exactly what he said it was going to be.
I arranged my own financing since I'm a part of a franchise and we have a company that will finance equipment and vehicles for us. I immediately put Jason in contact with our financing people and they worked out all the details behind the scene so that I could just come down, check out the vehicle, sign my life away, and head back to Michigan.
I didn't know what to expect when I got down there. What I found was a diamond in the ruff. Here was this nice family business in a house that was converted into an office. It was very nice with antique car memorabilia with a very relaxed environment. Everytyhing about the lot and the office indicated that everything was well kept up and maintained. It was very comfortable.
When I met Jason in person, I liked him even more than when I spoke with him on the phone. I had one minor concern which was probably a misunderstanding on my part, but Jason and I talked about it, he listened, I listened, and we came up with a quick solution that made everyone happy.
In the end, I found out that Jason was a Marine. I just felt I could trust him. We talked about family and his oldest two boys whom are also in the service. I could tell that Jason works hard, gives it his all, and does so with integrity and honor.
So we finished up the paperwork and then talked about fishing and life. It was a great ride back in an awesome vehicle that I knew I had paid a fair price for and was exactly what I was expecting.
I would absolutely make the drive again and I'm sure this family owned dearership with have great success in the future. I own my own business and I hope my own customers receive the kind of service and have the kind of experience I received.
Thank you Jason!
