2024 Ford Mustang review
I just purchased the 2024 rapid red turbo. I love the mode change and it has that great sound as you pull away from others. Great take off and smooth ride. The only negative and it is very slight-- it that it is difficult to change the temp, and my Sirus does not have all features. This is my 4th mustang, with my first being the very small box shape. Every model gets better

2015 Ford Mustang review
I have a premium Yellow 2015 GT convertible. Black interior (not charcoal gray) with a Black top. This car has the 6-speed automatic and therefore, it does not constantly shift up/down like the newer (lousy) 9-10 speeds. Mine includes the Ford Performance PowerPac 2 with RTR axle backs. With only 19,000 actual miles, this car looks, sounds and performs excellent. Would not sell it for any Corvette (have had 3 of them) nor any other Convertible with a 9-10 speed auto. 2001 Chevrolet Corvette review
I recently bought a 2001 C5 base automatic with 59,000 miles on it. I absolutely love this car. I’ve been using it as my daily and have put about 2,000 miles on it in about 5 months and it’s been nothing but great. Mine does have the Z51 package so it’s a little stiff and bumpy but with a sports car that what you expect. The only problems I’ve had are sometimes one of the pop up lights doesn’t go up but the good thing is there’s a hand crank for when that happens so you can put them up and the radio in mine had an issue where the lights on it would stay on and drain the battery but it is a 23 year old car so a few small electrical issues don’t surprise me. Besides that it’s been a great car so far and for anyone looking for a good, reliable, great looking sports car I don’t think there’s a better one out there especially for the money, it’s also plenty fast, I’ve recorded a 4.4 second 0-60 in mine on a non prepped road and all the mods mine has is a straight pipe muffler delete with no tips and pipes and a cold air intake so it’s pretty much stock. Overall I absolutely love this car and I hope to keep it for a long time (or until I get a C7 corvette) but I’d definitely recommend it if you can find a decent one for the money!

2005 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class review
A few concerns to address, the first is ABC active body control is a concern for this car. I own Phone Doctor in Frederick Maryland and hardware tech is my passion so I want to give my feedback. I love the classy lines of the exterior. The interior is equally elegant and tasteful without gaudy disco lights. I was mesmerized into test driving a 2005 SL500 because my daily driver is a 2001 Mercedes s600. The audio system is lackluster, next weakness is the headlights, but the biggest problem is the ABC (active body control) hydraulic suspension. The audio system is disappointing and leaves me feeling flaccid but I’m used to twelve inches of JL systems shimmed into my high school hoopties. The audio system is not the deal-breaker for this $90,000 machine. And the mediocre headlights can be remedied with aftermarket auxiliary lights. The biggest weakness is the high performance suspension system. Mercedes likes to call it ABC (active body control). The hydraulic pump, seals, and mechanical moving parts gets weak and loses its performance anywhere between 80,000 to 150,000 miles. It’ll cost just as much to replace the ABC system than it does to purchase your 2nd hand sl500. If you’re in the market for one make sure you have an extra $20,000 in socked up before you drop your drawers and plop $15k on your first SL500. A dream ride with one last caveat: This car will draw a lot of attention from single ladies!

2011 Chrysler 200 review
My 2011 Chrysler 200 has been a joy to own. At 200,000 the engine went out but repaired would be about 5k so I guess it will go to car heaven since I can’t afford to replace the engine. Just put $600 set of tires and new battery. I am truly going to miss it.

2014 Ford Mustang review
Under the rear seat it leaked water from the outside when driving in rainy conditions. I upgraded the stereo system and it was better for listening to music on the interstate and hi ways with the top down. I’m hoping to find another car soon.

2021 Mazda MX-5 Miata review
This is my second Miata. I also own an ‘03 NB and have put a lot into it over the years. I’ve eyeballed ‘16+ Miatas for years and finally found a ‘21 Grand Touring with 2k miles on it and bought it. Aesthetically, it is a beautiful car. Ergonomically, everything is in its proper place and I fit perfectly at 6’. I have the seat pushed all the way back so anyone taller could possibly find themselves uncomfortable. I swapped the original rims and tires out for some Konig rims and Continental all-season tires. The stock rims are 7” wide and the aftermarket are 8” wide: more traction on the road. Off the line, you can chirp the tires so the power is certainly adequate. The manual gear box is tight and shifts cleanly. It is an extremely fun, nimble, and reliable car. The Grand Touring has the leather, backup camera, and Bose stereo. I have driven this car hard through the “twisties” and cruised it 500 miles with no reservations. There isn’t anything really needing done to this car; it is a fantastic ride out of the box. I did, however, give the performance a “4” because I know there is room for growth with aftermarket products. Nevertheless, you won’t be disappointed. Be careful though! My buddy wrecked his ‘19 Miata RF two weeks ago pushing it just a little too hard.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray review
On December 10th, 2024, I purchased a red 2015 Corvette Stingray Convertible 3LT from Country Chevrolet in Warrenton, Virginia. I have purchased 26 new and used cars in my life, and I have to say this was by far the best buying experience I have ever had in my life. My first car was a new 1980 Corvette, and I evolved into planning for my last car to be a red corvette convertible. After much research, lots of shopping, and numerous test drives, I found this car listed on-line at Country Chevrolet at a listed price in the range I was looking for. I called and set up a test Drive for the wife and me. We drove up to the dealership and noticed one or two folks outside who immediately said hi, welcomed us to the dealership and went to get the salesman for our test drive. The environment at this dealership was more welcoming than any Chevy dealership I had ever been to. When Kirk Hughes, our sales consultant introduced himself, we could clearly see we had found at great person to work with. Kirk is friendly, professional, and an absolute expert in corvettes and cars in general. Kirk is by far one of the best salesmen I have ever met. I consider myself a car person, as I enjoy buying, selling and talking about cars. I also perform much of the simple maintenance tasks like changing fluids, brakes and normal maintenance items. Kirk is truly knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to talk to. After being at the dealership for a bit, I bumped into Kevin Bearce, another sales consultant and person we knew. He is another unbelievable friendly professional and a true joy to talk to. With sales folks like Kirk and Kevin, I would recommend Country Chevrolet to any and everyone, as they clearly only hire the best of the best. Kirk had three surprise visits by existing customers during our time shopping, and Kevin jumped in without skipping a beat, to assist in what turned out to be our purchase of the corvette. The finance consultant, J. C. Welch, quickly assisted in finalizing the sale at a price I considered fair. He too was friendly and professional in all. My whole experience at Country Chevrolet was completely different than my previous experiences buying cars. The atmosphere and attitude of the people was friendly, upbeat and caring. This tells me that the management and ownership of this dealership sets high standards for their people, and the result is great buying experience for a customer like me. Everything was great except for some scratches on the vehicle and I wasn't aware that the vehicle was stripped down to bare bones for example the Radio doesn't even have Sirius Xm. A little disappointing

2021 Jaguar F-TYPE review
I had a 2106 Cayman. I was hesitant about moving into a Jaguar. However after I drove the car (P300), I was convinced. It drove as well as the Cayman but has a better ride. Jaguar gives you a lot of options standard whereas Porsche charges much more. Examples: torque-vectoring, navigation and launch control- all standard. PLUS a $8000 rebate. These cars are going to disappear.

2004 Chevrolet Corvette review
I had my 2004 for 10 years. Great car and performance. At 6'2" the C5 provides me with comfort which its predecessors do not. Only issues have been the ignition switch a common problem which I changed out fairly easily, and the climate control lighting which I fixed by resoldering the board.

2013 Volkswagen Beetle review
I was initially looking for a used Golf, but the more I looked at the Beetle the more I liked it. When I found the one I ended up buying, it was love at first drive. This little car packs a punch with the 2.0T, and will throw you back in your seat. It’s an absolute blast to drive. Handles well around town and on the interstate, where it could easily get one in trouble since it wants to GO. The same engine as is found in the GTI, so this should be unsurprising. Easily gets 30+mpg on the highway when cruising along, typically around 20-25 city. These cars handle city driving just fine, but they are meant for the freeway in my opinion. I find the interior to be quite luxurious. Heated leather seats (not available in the Golf) with plenty of storage compartments. Not many frills, just a sleek and mostly practical dash. The trunk is big enough for grocery runs, and the rear seats fold forward for larger loads. It’s not going to haul large appliances or furniture, although it could possibly carry some bigger stuff on a roof rack. The Fender audio system is impressive, wouldn’t change a thing about it except it could benefit from an updated head unit with CarPlay. This hasn’t been an issue for me. I think the car is a real looker, it turns heads and has drawn the occasional compliment. My used model had some imperfections, but it’s still a great looking car that I want to look after and keep for as long as I can. It feels well built, the doors close with the satisfying weighty thud of a premium vehicle. Overall, I am very happy with my 2013 beetle. It’s not only fun, but it seems to be reliable with a couple caveats that some owners might not be aware of. The 2.0T engine is designed for premium fuel, using regular will eventually damage it. The 2.5 can run regular, but I believe the 1.8T will also want premium. The reason for this is lower octane fuel will cause detonation in these high compression engines. If you don’t know what detonation is, just know it’s bad. The oil needs changed more regularly than the manufacturer recommended 10k miles. 5k to be safe, 7k at a stretch. This is especially true for higher mileage vehicles. Speaking of stretch, there is a known issue with some 2.0T engines where the timing chain stretches over time and many miles, so if buying used that’s something I’d have a mechanic check out. This is an expensive maintenance item, but IF it’s needed, getting it done along with the tensioner and a new water pump for good measure will ensure that the new to you Beetle is reliable for many years and miles to come. The other issue is carbon build up. Getting it cleaned out is not as spendy as the timing chain but it’s also not a cheap fix. I believe this can largely be avoided by using top tier fuel (it contains detergents that help with this) as well as regular oil changes and some regular spirited driving. Would not recommend this car to someone who mainly does town or city driving, the 2.5 engine might be better suited for that. According to my research, the 2.5 is quite bulletproof BUT it’s not good for any engine to be driven at low RPM all the time.

2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata review
Every time I have sold or traded in my Miata I have regretted it. We relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas from Salt Lake City, Utah last November. We had three cars including a 2008 MX-5 that I had bought in 2020 with only 36,000 miles on it. We sold the 2008 MX-5 and after moving I decided to get another one, my fourth. It took about a month but I was lucky to find a 2010 GT PRHT WITH!!! just 1500 miles! I had it shipped here from Garland, Texas and am so glad I did. This Miata must have been in a car collection since it looks like it just came off of a showroom floor. The engine still smells like a new engine breaking in and there is not a scratch on it. Love this car and will never sell this one. This 2010 handles better than my previous three did.

2011 BMW M3 review
The E92 BMW M3 competition introduced in 2011 is a magical sweet spot in sports cars and the M lineup in particular. THREE circles overlap. ONE. The S65 engine is bespoke, only introduced in the 2008-2013 model. The normally aspirated 4.0L V8 weighs less than the inline 6 it replaces from the E46 and revs to 8300 rpm with 100 more hp. Literally the international engine of the year during every year of its production. Importantly it has no turbos. 8 separate throttle bodies, and a lightweight fly wheel. It will teach you what throttle response really means and overlaps with.. TWO. In the ZCP competition variant of the E92 this mates with a Getrag dual clutch. A manual lover, this made me switch religion. Odd/even transmissions and millisecond shifts with no gap in power pair perfectly with the race revving v8. And THREE.. sublime MDM traction control. All newer M models with turbo engines and comparatively sluggish throttle response include this. This is the final overlap. Instant throttle plus instant transmission plus instant handling equals the car dancing in and out of its performance envelope like a trained show dog. Buy one and good luck. I have several Ms. Not selling this one. Oh.. Minuses: Eats expensive tires like popcorn, sell your clutch foot to pay for brake platters. Head gaskets ooze around the 100k range. Worth it.

2012 BMW Z4 review
After moving to Florida, I've been looking for a used sport convertible as a 2nd car for having fun on the road. After test driving the Mazda Miata and the Fiat 124 Spider Abarth, I found the 2012 BMW Z4 to be much more comfortable for my size (6ft. 1in). I also like the classic design, additional luxury accessories and the retractable hardtop. Even though a 2012 Z4 is priced higher than later model Mazdas and Fiats, for me it was worth the extra money.
