Jake is pleasant to work with, courteous, respectful, and shows great integrity with not trying to hide any vehicle flaws. There is no pressure to buy. 2012 Hyundai SONATA review
I've driven it for 90,000 miles. It's a FUN car to drive and other than routine maintenance (oil, brakes, etc) it has been VERY economical to maintain. Doesn't eat tires or brakes, other than a manufacturer replacement of the engine, nothing significant has broken. It's been a VERY reliable, comfortable car!

Less than a week ago I contacted our friend Steve Hollosi, a longtime auto retailer who has since gone into automotive consulting about who I should speak with about getting our family a new ride. Hollosi (Success 360) asked me some questions about what we were looking at. After doing some initial research, he told me to contact Earl Stewart Toyota. My wife and I bought a car all virtually, the first time I've done that (shopped cars online, but never did it all online until now). From our first contact with the dealership, talking and messaging with various team members including the credit department, through to the delivery by a fine fellow named "Vinny," this has been the best vehicle buying experience I've had in over 50 years of car buying. Other than a modest glitch on their website, it has been a 'red carpet' experience. We are enjoying our new ride and would recommend others consider Earl Stewart Toyota if they are looking for a professional, candid, no pressure and transparent experience. As I told my friend in thanking him for the introduction, I do not normally offer a positive online review, for several reasons. But in this case, the Earl Stewart team deserve it. 2012 Hyundai SONATA review
the 2012 Hyundai Sonata is a smooth comfortable car with a potential flaw that Hyundai has, in my opinion, addressed adequately. First the Pros: It is stylish in both the interior as well as exterior design. It is comfortable, even for me at 6'3" and is not tiring for extended periods on the highway. The fuel economy is good averaging for me about 32 MPG with mostly highway driving. The engine has reasonable power when needed and is generally smooth. The cons are that the 4-cylinder Theta-II engine that the Sonata Uses, (as well as the Santa Fe and Kia Optima and Sorento) has a known flaw that causes the #4 cylinder connecting rod bearing to wear out prematurely causing engine failure. Hyundai has recently extended the Engine Warranty to a lifetime warranty on these engines and that includes if you bought the car used. I think this is a reasonable response. My Sonata suffered this exact failure 5 months ago at 164,000 miles and the engine was replaced with no pushback. The car carried an original 100K mile warranty which is still considered industry leading so, legally, any car over 100K miles Hyundai and Kia could have stuck to their original warranty agreement and taken no action. But that is not what they are doing. One of the reasons I gave Korean cars a try several years ago was the lack of response I got on a Japanese brand known for their high quality that also had a known failure point but took no action after the warranty expired. Because of Hyundai's ultimate response I still highly recommend the car. if you have a higher mileage Sonata, my advice would be sure you have some sort of roadside assistance, so in case you experience this same failure, you will not be left stranded. The good news is that in the rare instance you experience this issue, you should receive a new engine.
