2022 Jeep Compass review
Bought this 2022 Compass Trail Hawk new for my wife. Earlier this year (2025) we landed a sweetheart deal on a new 2024 Wrangler Sport S. Guess who inherited the Compass ? I stepped down from a Grand Cherokee but I have no regrets. It has had a few electrical teething issues but all have been resolved and have not come back. The handling and fuel economy are much better than the Grand Cherokee. There are only 2 downsides..........the size of the gas tank (13.5 gal vs 24.5) and the cargo space behind the 2nd row seats. I have easily adapted to both ! I want to give a shout-out to our local dealership, Tri-City CDJR. Start to finish, an excellent place to purchase and maintain our Jeeps. BRAVO ZULU !

2014 Jeep Compass review
2014 Jeep Compass: I’ve had some issues with my Jeep but overall I’ve loved it. Bought it in 2016 with 34,000 miles on it. Now January 2026 I have 146,000 miles. Seems that things started to happen when it turned 10 years old. Tends to rust in the same places with all these jeeps (lower door trim, lower hatch trim). Had to get both front bearings replaced about $350 each side (suspension needs to maintained per manual timelines then you’ll have no problem), drivers window pulley broke and did repair myself, replaced throttle body myself (my fault for not keeping enough gas in the car). With that, I would recommend going above 3 in RPMs every now and again to teach your throttlebody to open wider. I’ve always kept RPM’s under 2.5. Stereo went out which is common in these models (went ahead and got a aftermarket stereo), drivers power window switch replaced (did myself for $80). Also, check engine light WILL come on if an oil change is needed. If your dash says oil change, you’re already waaaay too low. Now, my coolant is leaking around the cap. Thankfully it’s an easy fix I can do myself (about $100 repair). If you’re handy, these vehicles are easy to work on and if you keep them maintained, they will last a long while. With regular maintenance, I hope to keep it for another 150,000 miles. Oh yeah, 4WD gets stuck on or off sometimes. Not sure why but always seems to happen in the winter. Go figure.

2009 Jeep Compass review
I have a 2009 Jeep Compass has approx 16K miles on it with manual transmission and 2.4L engine. Interior is adequate, like the exterior and ride and reliability very good so far. Mileage has been approx 25 with a/c running and close to 30 without. Ride is more like a truck but overall handling is good. Feels very solid on the road, will keep this one for awhile.

2023 Jeep Compass review
I've owned my 2023 Jeep Compass High Altitude for 3 months and have put 2,000 miles on it, and overall it's a really good vehicle but would be better with a few improvements. The interior layout of the car is excellent -- everything is easy to reach, navigate, and adjust. The center screen is bright, crisp, and snappy and was one of the major draws for me over the prior models. The interior in general feels much roomier than other small SUVs in this class. The ride is smooth and comfortable on long trips, though I do find the premium leather seats to be stiffer than the "standard" leather seats in the lower trim models, which is surprising. The gas mileage is quite good and the brakes are fantastic. I also like the exterior design because it looks even more like a baby Grand Cherokee, and the two-tone paint looks sharp if you're into that. Also, the moonroof is huge and really opens up the interior of the car. I haven't owned the car long enough to comment on reliability, but so far so good in that department. Now for the things that need improvement. First, the engine sounds like a literal go-kart and is quite loud inside the vehicle. Yes, the engine is small but I feel like they could have done something to alter the sound or at least dampen the cabin noise better. Second, there are rattles coming from various places in the car, most notably from the headliner around the moonroof. Considering I paid 42k for the top trim, this is disappointing and quite annoying. Makes the car feel a little cheap and/or hastily assembled. Also cheap feeling are the buttons under the center screen and the interior/exterior door handles. I came from a 2018 Audi Q3 and the fit and finish just doesn't compare in that regard. Overall it's a minor thing but worth mentioning. The last thing (and maybe my biggest gripe) that I'm really bummed the Compass doesn't have is an adjustable tailgate. I have a small garage with low headroom and I have to unload anything from the back of the car before I pull into the garage because the tailgate would most certainly bang into the overhead garage door when fully opened. I believe the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee both had the option to set the max tailgate height and I don't see why they couldn't include that feature in the new Compass. They are in the midst of expanding their car lot and do not have a structured building. They only have a mobile unit currently on the property so it's a bit disorganized right now. Sales personnel did not seem very friendly but they also aren't pushy which I liked. Most of the cars exteriors were really dirty from a dust storm that occurred a couple of weeks ago. They have a large inventory of vehicle choices.

2018 Jeep Compass review
I,ve had several Jeeps and Subarus and Chevys and my Compass Latitude 4x4 is as good as any for around the city and my freeway trips. Better than the Subaru for the highway and offroad. I feel safe. posted this as i feel some people are harsh and wrong about Jeeps. Do the required oil and transmission services as requested.

2021 Jeep Compass review
I had a really nice 2022 Chevy Equinox RS last year, but due to my commute over a mountain pass during winter, I was afraid it was going to get trashed. I decided to trade it in on a 2021 Jeep Compass Limited, believing that it would be a more rugged option. I am so impressed with my little Compass! Its leaps and bounds over the Equinox in my opinion. The Compass is more responsive, more comfortable and definitely more solid. I love how my doors unlock when I reach for the door handle. I love the tight turning radius (I’ve owned two Wranglers), and I absolutely how it handled compact snow and ice on the highway in Montana earlier this spring. I felt extremely safe driving my little Jeep Compass, whereas the Equinox always felt like it was “lightweight “. The only “bells & whistles” the Equinox had that the Compass lacks, is the remote rear door release on the fob and on the driver’s door and maybe the 9-speaker Bose sound. As long as I can listen to my memory stick with 5k+ songs with all 8-speakers working, I’m happy!! The mileage is comparable; the Equinox had a 1.5L 4 Cyl w/turbo and 6-spd transmission; the Compass has a 2.4L 4 cyl w/9-spd transmission, and I like having a little more meat under the hood. The Equinox is considered a mid-size SUV, Jeep Compass is a little smaller and rated as a “compact” SUV, however cargo capacity (cubic inch) is equal. The seats in the Equinox were very short under my behind, only extending halfway between my butt and my knees, if that, so long trips were not super comfortable. The shorter seats did allow for a little roomier cabin, which my husband liked, but since it’s my vehicle… yeah. I absolutely love my Jeep Compass Limited. I really wanted a Trailhawk model, and I might trade up to that version later, unless I can afford another Wrangler or ultimately a Gladiator. Summing it up, I am a Jeep Girl, and while I initially thought the Compass “isn’t really a Jeep”, I have happily been proven wrong. I refer to it as a Baby Jeep that wants to grow up to be a Wrangler Unlimited.

2023 Jeep Compass review
I've owned my 2023 Jeep Compass High Altitude for 3 months and have put 2,000 miles on it, and overall it's a really good vehicle but would be better with a few improvements. The interior layout of the car is excellent -- everything is easy to reach, navigate, and adjust. The center screen is bright, crisp, and snappy and was one of the major draws for me over the prior models. The interior in general feels much roomier than other small SUVs in this class. The ride is smooth and comfortable on long trips, though I do find the premium leather seats to be stiffer than the "standard" leather seats in the lower trim models, which is surprising. The gas mileage is quite good and the brakes are fantastic. I also like the exterior design because it looks even more like a baby Grand Cherokee, and the two-tone paint looks sharp if you're into that. Also, the moonroof is huge and really opens up the interior of the car. I haven't owned the car long enough to comment on reliability, but so far so good in that department. Now for the things that need improvement. First, the engine sounds like a literal go-kart and is quite loud inside the vehicle. Yes, the engine is small but I feel like they could have done something to alter the sound or at least dampen the cabin noise better. Second, there are rattles coming from various places in the car, most notably from the headliner around the moonroof. Considering I paid 42k for the top trim, this is disappointing and quite annoying. Makes the car feel a little cheap and/or hastily assembled. Also cheap feeling are the buttons under the center screen and the interior/exterior door handles. I came from a 2018 Audi Q3 and the fit and finish just doesn't compare in that regard. Overall it's a minor thing but worth mentioning. The last thing (and maybe my biggest gripe) that I'm really bummed the Compass doesn't have is an adjustable tailgate. I have a small garage with low headroom and I have to unload anything from the back of the car before I pull into the garage because the tailgate would most certainly bang into the overhead garage door when fully opened. I believe the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee both had the option to set the max tailgate height and I don't see why they couldn't include that feature in the new Compass. Overall, it's a good car with more positives than negatives, but with a few improvements it could be the perfect small SUV.

2023 Jeep Compass review
My wife and I bought a 23' Jeep Compass Limited with 15K miles. We were looking for something small but also a vehicle that could offer 4x4. My initial impression of it at the dealership was that it has an awesome exterior paint color (granite crystal) and black wheels to compliment it. The car drives great on the highway and city. It's a very comfortable ride and the car can turn on a dime! I am currently averaging 30 mpg while commuting to work each day. I have noticed the car will sometimes have difficulty up shifting. As long as I apply more gas it eventually gets over it. Not a big deal for me as my last vehicle would do the same thing. The rear view camera is nice on the Compass, however it is completely useless at night. Overall we are very happy with our purchase.
