This testimonial is well over due! My experience started almost 15 years ago as a little kid seeing my parents come home with a new car, from Tom Pappas Toyota of course. I never understood why they???ve bought approximately 4-5 cars from Pappas until it was my turn to buy as a 18 year old teenager ready to make my first major purchase. I of course had to use Mark Garner because well, that???s who my parents trusted and referred. I bought a 2009 Scion tC, which meant no way to negotiate which meant pure pricing back then! I???ve had my ups and downs with my tc, bought her July 3, 2008. lets fast forward and talk about what seemed to me a very simple recall, regarding my car burning through a ton of oil, not good with cars but that???s the English version. I remember calling Chris Banks in a panic because my car was driving very ???rocky???. Of course he knew about the recall, told me to drive it up to so many miles so they can track the consumption per Toyota to figure out my issue. I drove away, got 1 minute away and freaked out! Called Chris and he said please come back and go from there. He was so good with keeping me calm and explaining the issues. Come to find out I almost blew a rod, what ever that meant, found out could have destroyed my engine and my car would essentially be non drivable. Chris immediately put me in a loaner and said he would look at her in more depth. Make a long story short, the oil piston recall if I???m using correct terms resulted in the damage. The damage would cost me roughly $7,000 in repairs including labor and rental. I was in no state of mind to drop that kind of money, she???s been paid off for roughly 2 years at this time. Oh and she unfortunely was not worth $7,000. This is where Kyle, Chris, myself and the Vice President which I believe was Tom Pappas son had a private conversation with how we were going to resolve this unepected surprise. Most dealerships would hand me the 1-800 number and say take it up with Toyota, because it???s a Toyota recall, not the dealerships issue. When I say this dealership went above and beyond, that would be an understatement. My out of pocket expense cost me nothing, they figured out the repair cost directly with Toyota! I remember Kyle calling me with the news and I was so happy and appreciative! They easily could have started the whole conversation with buying a new car but they didn???t. They recognized the many many years of loyalty myself and my parents had to Tom Pappas! I tell this story to a lot of people when buying/servicing their vehicle to go straight to Tom Pappas! Tom Pappas I really hope you recognize your team, I???ve never had any negative experience with any of your staff members. Do I have my go to favorites, well of course! Without those people, who knows what kind of car I???d be driving or how much debt I???d be in! As much as I???m dreading buying a new car, I just can???t listen to other people recommending dealerships and sales people to me. I laugh and smile and respond with telling them I have my people and place to buy my next car! Biggest shout out to Mark Garner who I bought my first car from, Chris banks who is always there to answer my silly odd questions and of course goes above and beyond without question, to Kyle who is service supervisor who went to battle with Toyota regarding my major car repair, to the Vice President at the time, I???m sorry I don???t recall his name, young fella who was extremely helpful as well! This is a great vehicle and we're so glad that we purchased one. We've had a couple of minor things go wrong that should not have such as the drivers side visor starting to squeak loudly. All said we are very happy with this car. On the down side there is now standard technology out there that is not available. Automatic wipers are missing and items like remote start and subaru's safety and security package are extra when Honda includes them both free. But my biggest issue is not the car it's that there is no convenient dealersl or service anywhere near me. The nearest service is 45 minutes away. The next car will have to be available locally.

Chuck Lucas was our sales person, and he was amazing! He treated us like family, and that made us feel like we were exactly where we needed to be. One of the first things he told us was that he is a Christian, and he feels called to make sure that his customer's car buying experience is a positive and blessed one. He was in no way pushy, and even asked more than once if we had any questions or concerns about the vehicle. Before I test drove a car, I explained to Chuck that we had just been discharged from a 5-year bankruptcy. I needed to let him know about that up front, because I knew financing would be a problem due to our credit situation. I did not want to waste his time or ours, if the dealership did not deal with people that have credit issues. Chuck told me that they are a family-owned and operated business, and they understand that life is not easy, and that hardships arise. At no time were my husband and I made the feel uncomfortable due to our credit situation. The finance department did a great job of getting our credit approved, and our payment where it needed to be. I would 100% recommend the Dick Dean Subaru team, and when it is time for another vehicle we will be back.

What can I say, they are the best! Since 2013 I???ve bought 4 New Subarus from The Dean Team and I have a used Baja that is serviced only with them. Not only is the Salesman easy to work with, (you need to check into the guaranteed trade up programs) it???s what goes on after the sale. My 2nd Subaru Forester

My 1st Forester is a 2009 turbocharged model which is still going strong with 110,000 miles. The newer Foresters offer safety and convenience features mine doesn't have so I decided to upgrade. The 2019 Forester no longer offers the turbocharged version so I opted for a certified pre-owned 2018 XT Touring which has a turbocharger. I love the vehicle but because the turbo is no longer available, the used turbo versions have become quite pricey. I am keeping the old one for hauling dogs, lawn equipment and towing my utility trailer. The new one will be just for people for now. The vehicle is just the right size. I am 6'4" and would appreciate a little more leg room and thigh support but the Forester is as comfortable as any other small SUV I checked. There is plenty of headroom. The turbo does require premium fuel and has a lower mileage rating. With the turbo and sports tuned suspension, it is a fun vehicle to drive and worth the money to me. In over 10 years, the older one left me stranded only once when a drive belt broke after 100,000 miles. Based on reviews, I expect the same reliability from the newer one.

And boy have we encountered some of the most arrogant individuals in this line of work. However, not here nope you can tell everyone here puts their pants on just like us everyday! So.... We purchased a used vehicle from Jason!! I will tell you we did most of our negotiations via text and that was awesome! America is in the technology world and we get it so that was nice! Thank you Jason for taking the time out of your personal life to communicate. Like the rest of us in America our time off from work is valuable and I hope the owner realizes what an asset YOU are to his team! Perhaps if the Dean team doesn't reimburse their staff for personal devices they should consider such. Thank you for taking the time out to go over all the details of the jeep and making sure we return for the follow up details and other equipment to be installed on our jeep! We wanted to point out that if you are NOT in shape or lazy you shouldn't apply to work here ... For no one we ever seen walks ... We were like wow "do you see how everyone runs here" to the customer or a vehicle. It was hot out but they were more concerned if we needed a drink.... More like they needed one ... We encountered much aggravated times after weeks of shopping at other dealerships .... One time we said "hurry up get in the car and drive off" so the salesman couldn't see us lol .... We drove another vehicle and litterly something fell OFF that jeep (oh boy) ..... Another dealership couldn't find 3 different vehicles that they said they had and NO CLUE where they could be yet still tried to show us something we had no interest in ... Yet another dealer made us feel like we went to Edward Jones and NOT car shopping as he gave us advise on what banks to use while treating us like we had a 500 credit score (no joke) the general manger told me no I was tall enough and I didn't need side rails for my jeep so he wouldn't put them on and they would cost me 1100.00 .....(I'm 5'2)!!! I could say soooo much more but at the end of the day this what I'll say.......... See you next week Jason when you put my side rails on our NEW jeep!!!! ( for a for a fraction of what the above mentioned dealership told me) Btw.... The Dean Team's F &I guy (Rick) a thank you for your professional attitude and work getting us in and out in record time! That's always a hassle but NOT here! Jason .... We will see you again

I've been shopping for a 2018 Subaru Outback (Premium) for awhile and did my fair share of homework on the three major Subaru dealers in St. Louis. What brought me to Dean Team Subaru initially was the email communication I had with Mark McNulty and the low pricing on their website. Mark was great through the couple of email exchanges I had, helped me understand my "walking out the door" price and wasn't pushy on having me come in. When I ended up coming in, I met with Tony Wright. Tony from the get go was personable and affable, generally all around likable. I told him I was interested in the Outback but that I had plans to visit two other dealerships before the day was through. Tony said he'd love to do whatever was needed to help keep me at Dean Team and save me the trip to the other locations (Thanks Tony :) ). Since I knew what a fair amount about the Outback, there wasn't much "training" that I needed however Tony clearly was knowledgeable on the product line. He took the time to answer the few questions I had and provided clear and detailed information. He suggested a great stretch of road to do a test drive on so I could try out the various features the car had to offer. When it came to negotiations, the process was beautifully simple. Telling me that he wanted to know "what it would take" to make a deal, I was straight forward with my requirements and with a quick conversation or two with his manager and agreement on my end we were writing up the sales contract. All while doing this, Tony took the time to get to know my wife and I and shared stories about his own family. The finance manager we worked with was Jason Moore. We didn't spend a ton of time with him but he did a great job, got us through all of our paperwork quickly and we weren't pressured into any add on products like we've experienced at other dealerships. At the very end, Tony made sure to explain every last feature as we were doing our final wrap up and even offered some great suggestions on coming back for more information on the cars and to not forget to take advantage of their free car washes! When we were done, we were totally content with the process. Will definitely go back to Tony and the Dean Team Subaru folks for our next vehicle.

Fabulous car, some downsides

To be honest, the car is great. It looks and feels great in and out. The seats are stylish and the dash is sleek and has a large touch screen (mines a Sport model). However, there are downsides. I love how cool the screen is, but not having buttons feels dangerous. I have to look down too much to hit the buttons since I can’t feel then like a regular radio/whatever. Secondly, whoever thought it was a good idea not to make he cup holders round is crazy. Half is curved, but then it’s straightens out to look like a short bullet shape. What this means is that no cup is secure and the drinks bounce around and when you learn about it it’s from spilling coffee all over in your brand new car cuz you went over train tracks. Third, the transmissions jerks sometimes when you let off the accelerator. When it downshifts you can feel the car since back as the transmission starts to stop the car when it should be saving energy by coasting. These I’m told are normal traits in the car. Lastly, the 28mpg city rating is false. I get 20 in the city driving like a grandpa. Apparently these things suck when the engine is could and my 2 miles commute sees the worst efficiency I can imagine for a brand new 4 cylinder with such a good rating. All in all though, I like it and it’s a sexy car.

Actually found my "dream" car, (I had been searching for over 2 years!) It was a very SPECIFIC 2012 make, model, and color with other features. It showed up via "Car Gurus" and it was located at this dealership. Called to see the vehicle spoke and spoke to salesperson John Biermann. He was most helpful, friendly, accommodating and went out of his way to make certain that ALL of my questions/needs were met and I purchased the car! Although I took my husband along with me, I most appreciated the fact that he realized that I was the car buyer and not my husband. The entire car buying experience was awesome!

I worked with Mike Betts; he was knowledgeable about the inventory and more than willing to answer every question I had. I had never bought a car before and wasn???t even quite sure of what I wanted going into this whole process. He never pushed me to make any decision regarding a vehicle and made sure that I felt comfortable in my decisions across the whole process. With Mike???s help, I ended up getting a Subaru XV Crosstrek... a vehicle that I didn???t even know existed within the Subaru line. I absolutely love my new car, and am thankful for the wonderful people who made this a reality for me. I began looking at Buick Enclaves a couple of weeks ago, and stumbled across one at Dean Team VW in Ballwin. We live in Arkansas over 3 hrs away, but were planning a trip to the STL area within the month. I had some questions and quickly received a text AFTER HOURS answering all of my questions. I soon had others, and I'm sure I made a pest of myself asking question after question, wheedling them down to a lower price, a different interest rate, etc. I had another Enclave in the STL area we were interested in, but that dealership was stand-offish to us from the moment we walked in. At times, the other dealership was downright rude, nearly refusing to even to run a loan approval to find out what interest rate!! They did offer a small incentive, however. I had had Jason apologize he could only stay until 5, but his fellow salesman would take care of us. So we walked out of the rude pressuring dealership, drove immediately to Ballwin, met with James, told him the incentive we were offered, and James and Rick spent the next several minutes getting that incentive not only matched, but beaten! We were thrilled! We bought the Enclave on Friday, and have continued to text Jason about our experience, as he is continuing to follow through after the sale, including at 10:30 at night! What service! It was truly refreshing how honestly, upfront, low pressure, but completely committed to pleasing the customer this whole team was! I would definitely drive the 3+hours next time to do business with them again. Thanks Dean Team!

This car is perfect for me. It combines comfort, reliability, styling and exceptional performance on all types of roads. I have the Touring turbo model which is very quick off the line and hustles down the road easily when prodded. Needed something to fit my grandchildren's 'stuff' plus easy for my 92yo Mom to get in and out of. With the price of gas constantly fluctuating gas consumption was a key factor and my 'new' ride averages 31mpg! It's a solid QUIET ride with plenty of pick-up! (Coming out of an Infiniti Q60 I thought I would notice less pick-up.)

I live in north city so after Randy Blount closed I chose this location because of the accessibility from home and work just in case a car problems ever occurred. I have owned each new model 2006 Mazdza 6i, 2009 Mazda 6 , 2010 CX-7 , & presently a 2015 CX5. And because of my purchases I have had more encounters for service with Shawn. I had a battery problem on January 9,and Shawn DeGrasso who I have chosen as my service advisor took care my issue. Over the years he has always been friendly, been patience, & he listens and is always professional. I received an email from Mazda Customer Service Survey and answered it on January 13 and Shelly Adams did a follow up call regarding my service yesterday. I want management to recognize Shawn's worth because he knows I have had some very unique issues with all my car purchases. I have learned to respect his knowledge with my car concerns and I believe he believes my concerns as being legitimate. Because who wants to come a dealership unnecessarily (smile). Also, over the years I had the pleasure to have some car issues solved from Glen and Bruce regarding some defects. Finally , the office personnel, and other associates, & parts department have been outstanding, too. Great Job!!!

I contacted Dean Team to see about getting a 2018 VW Beetle Dune, with certain specifications that I wanted. Reese contacted me and we started the process. Here are some highlights: - Reese went over every part of the process with me so that I understood what was happening. - He made pricing very clear, including any fees and taxes I would need to pay over the price of the car - They had to do an extensive search to find the exact car I wanted. Reese was very diligent in this search, keeping us informed as the search was progressing, then as the car was found and was making its way to St. Louis (the nearest car they could find was in New Jersey!). - Doing the paperwork didn't take too long, maybe 90 minutes of discussion, waiting, and signing. They have free Wi-Fi so it eases the wait a little. - When I took delivery of the car, Reese walked me through every feature and function. He even came in on his day off - Overall, working with Reese was a very pleasant experience. Not to knock other car salesman, but he doesn't have that slimy vibe that makes you want to head for the hills (you know what I'm talking about). If we buy a VW again, we'll go to Reese for sure.

This car meets and exceeds all of my needs. I looked an numerous wagon-like models, because my old car was . VW Passat wagon. I looked at the Outback and the Forester, and immediately chose the Forester because of the feeling of space (more head room, bigger windows, and the moon roof).

Matt Vallee was very knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient. He didn't seem to mind some of the dumb questions I had. We drove several cars around the lot before making a final selection. The whole process went smoothly. Matt was kind enough to help me clean out my trade in since I wasn't really prepared to turn it in. Mike in financing was also very knowledgeable and courteous. However, he had to apologize several times for the length of time it took to get the financing completed. My FICA score was 850. I don't know why the financing took so long. I arrived at the dealer about 3:00 PM and had my car selected and priced by 4:00 PM or so. I didn't get to leave until almost 7:00 PM. Three hours for financing seems way too long. Something needs to be done about the time it took for financing. I am enjoying my new 2018 Chevy Cruze in what I describe as Cardinal Red! I learn new things about it every day!

This is my 4th STI and I have tried to buy other cars for daily driving like m3, m4 ,911, GTI yer none of them have the same feeling as an STI. I think most STI owners understand what I’m referring to. From the community, the drivability, the versatility, the safety all these thing but there is still some unexplainable feeling you get from driving these cars that I just don’t get from other manufacturers. I will always be an STI owner and can’t wait for the new generation to be unveiled!

Original equipment tires wore out at 20,000 miles. Replacement Uniroyal Tiger Paws went 42000 more miles. Was unable to meet factory specs for wheel alignment. Despite that replacement set of tires wore evenly. If you purchase a new Subaru require that dealership align and show you results are at factory specs before taking delivery. The radio controls are difficult to use. touch screen is insensitive in cold weather. Radio knobs taper away from you so are difficult to grasp. Overall electronics are way overly complicated. Handling is very good. I like the CVT trans. It matches the power curve of the engine. Very secure car at highway speeds. Great traction in wet/snow. Zero mechanical problems. Great carrying capacity. I am at 62000 miles and will keep the car for several more years. Remarkable fuel mileage of 34.5 MPG overall.
