Review: Living With 3 Chevy Bolt EVs for past 6 years Owning three Chevy Bolt EVs has been one of the smartest financial and practical decisions we’ve made. Each year, we’re saving $6,000–$7,000 combined on fuel and maintenance compared to when we drove gasoline cars. We get about 250-300 miles of range depending on heat and AC use. We bought them used around $20k each, had batteries replaced in 2020 so 100,000 mile warranty, can't beat it! Charging at Home Is Simple, either use 110v and charge overnight or upgrade 220v dryer plug We picked up a Level 2 home charger for about $150 on Amazon. Installing and running it is as simple as hooking up clothes dryer. The charger just uses a standard 240V outlet, and the energy demand is nothing unusual for a typical household. Pulls same amount of power as microwave or toaster oven. Very reliable car. Drives good, corners in back a little blinding to see cars or persons behind you or on sides. Also persons trying to break in car get the device from a kia service.

25K trouble free miles so far. Everybody picks on the 55 kW maximum charge speed, but the car is so efficient that it still adds 100 mi in ½ an hour at a DC station. Imagine a 200 HP Fit, and you've got the idea. Zero dollars on maintenance/repair.

The 1990 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with the 4.2 liter V6 and a manual transmission is a real Jeep. By real I am talking about it being Jeep tough and easy to work on. What is shares with the Jeeps of today besides those things that I would say make it a real Jeep is its off-road capability and convertible top which enables those in it to really enjoy those capabilities. This old Jeep makes power at very low RPMs unlike the Jeeps of today. While I have yet to try, it likely would climb a tree in 4-low at 1,500 RPM. This kind of fun does come at the expense of it being a comfortable highway cruiser, though it is still capable. And then to top it off, if someone takes fair care of it, these hold their value. All Jeeps are fun vehicles, but the old ones are more about the off-road fun - making them best as a second vehicle.
