2020 Audi SQ5 Review
from the Cars.com expert editorial team
What Is the 2020 Audi Q5?
The Q5 is Audi’s entry in the compact luxury SUV market, where it competes with models like the Acura RDX, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class. It was redesigned for 2018, when it gained slightly larger dimensions, more technology and a single powertrain: a 248-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard. The performance-oriented SQ5 version comes with a turbo 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 349 hp and drives an eight-speed automatic.
What’s New on the 2020 Audi Q5?
High-beam assist is now standard.
What Features in the 2020 Audi Q5 Are Most Important?
Standard equipment includes safety features like forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. Other safety items like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and a 360-degree camera system are available. Standard comfort and convenience features include heated front seats, leather seats, tri-zone air conditioning, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. The SQ5 has a standard adaptive suspension, and a sport adaptive air suspension is optional.
Should I Buy the 2020 Audi Q5?
The Audi Q5 is refined and delivers excellent ride and handling. Neither the Q5 nor its racy cousin, the SQ5, are a bargain, however, and some cabin details lack the polish you’d expect from an Audi. While they’re good — the Q5 finished second in our luxury compact SUV comparison test — it’d be worth your while to check out the competition, too.

Fourth Audi
Excited to "learn" its updated features. Feels familiar to drive as I've had a 2011 Q5 for 10 years. Quantum Grey is a stunning beautiful color. This is probably my last "new" car and I'm adoring the ... Read full review
