2022 Subaru Legacy review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2022 Subaru Legacy?

The Subaru Legacy is a five-seat mid-size sedan with a choice of two four-cylinder engines and standard all-wheel drive. A 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is standard, and XT models get a 260-hp, turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder. All Legacy trim levels have a continuously variable automatic transmission. Competitors include the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima

What’s New on the 2022 Subaru Legacy?

The base trim level now has 17-inch aluminum wheels, while the mid-level Sport trim gains a power moonroof, as well as blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert and rear automatic emergency braking.

What Features in the 2022 Subaru Legacy Are Most Important?

  • Dual-screen multimedia system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity
  • Satellite radio

  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane-centering steering assist

Should I Buy the 2022 Subaru Legacy?

Standard all-wheel drive is a signature Legacy feature, but it also boasts good ride quality and interior space. Cabin materials quality and child-seat accommodations are also good. The CVT is noisy, however, and acceleration is sluggish when starting off. The beeping sounds from the EyeSight active-safety system can be excessive, too.

love my Subaru

from the first day I had it I haven’t had any issues with it as it handles great and gas economy is awesome. I don’t have a negative to write. I drove Lincoln’s for the last 20 or more years and because they stopped making cars and only Crossovers or SVU’s, I searched high and low to find an equivalent car and googled all the options that were a must and the Subaru Legacy Elite came up and my husband and I went to look and drove out with our new car and couldn’t be happier. The ride is comfortable and the car is just great.

Legacy review

Lots of safety features. Easy to drive. Very comfortable. I think it is well built . I feel good driving it . A car very much worth checking out

Love my 2022 Legacy

The Legacy is an excellent ride, with all wheel drive for that extra dependability in the winter time. Subaru is synonymous with reliability. I would recommend to anyone.
