2013 Ford Explorer review
This car was gorgeous, royal blue. It exceeded every expectation i had as far as style and comfort are concerned. We have a big family so the third row was convenient and folded so nicely when unneeded. Sunroof and moonroof. Heated and cooled seats. Heated steering wheel. It costed entirely too much in gas and had a lot of computer glitches (in display screen not performance). Transmission acted a little funny one day so I decided to upgrade. Granted It was a 2013 not brand new, but if Ford isn’t built to last more than 8 years, I’m moving on.

Love this vehicle!! Went from 2013 Chevy Malibu to this 2019 fully loaded Ford Explorer. Love the navigation, hands free phone, auto bright lights and Windsheild washer, remote start, sun roofs, back up camera, luggage racks, hitch andtowing capabilities, 3rd row seating and stowing, the Ford app, the Ford warranty, leather heated seats and steering wheel, and all the safety and other luxury accessories.

2017 Ford Explorer review
I have owned Toyota and Honda vehicles for years. I love the space and comfort of my Ford Explorer. However I'm at 68k miles and just had to have my transmission rebuilt. If I didn't love the comfort and ride of this vehicle so much, I would trade it in tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed and praying this vehicle will hold out to 200k miles.

Best Ford, other than a pickup, I've ever owned. Minor issues and recalls. All fixed or checked expertly here in Woodbridge VA. Only 80,000 miles. All highway. Tows a trailer perfectly straight. 4X4 with tow package. Getting ready to sell. Nobody else in the house to use it ! Lol

2016 Ford Explorer review
2016 Platinum. Nice SUV, comfortable, very powerful, decent fuel economy, fair build quality, but there are some things to be aware of; the AWD models have a PTU (power transfer unit) which sends power to the rear wheels. It is positioned very close to the exhaust, and the heat generated by the turbochargers literally cooks the gear oil in the PTU, causing it to fail. The unit only holds about a quart of oil, and is NOT serviced or checked, even when you have the vehicle serviced at the dealer. We had trouble with the front camera, and the recirculation actuator on the climate control. If you are considering a used Explorer, I highly recommend buying the best warranty you can! The only complaint I have is the road noise. On new pavement, it's quiet, but on all other roads it's VERY loud inside!

2014 Ford Explorer review
I love the color of this vehicle - sunset orange. With a built-in GPS and 3-row leather seats, and front row heated seats for cold weather, this is the best vehicle I've owned so far. However, there're no deep cup holders on the side panels. Being a woman, I wish that there're more little storage rooms for use. A small hook to hang a garbage bag in the front passenger side will be ideal when I alone use the car most of the time. There has been quite a bit of recalls on this vehicle, but the dealer fixes everything free.

2018 Ford Explorer review
Love this car overall but I have only one complaint. I was putting some boxes in the rear of the car and one of the boxes must have touched the the rear seat folding mechanism as all of a sudden it tried to unfold the seats. If my grandchildren had been sitting there strapped in I hate to think what may have happened!! Wish you had coverage over the mechanism so this wouldn’t happen.

He made it clear that buying a car is a serious commitment, and once you buy, there are absolutely NO RETURNS. To help me make the best decision, he shared five key things every buyer should look out for: 1️⃣ Check the Vehicle History – They emphasized how important it is to review a full history report to avoid hidden surprises. A clean record means fewer risks! So get your own Carfax. 2️⃣ Have the Car Inspected – They strongly recommended bringing in a trusted mechanic to inspect the car before buying. A small upfront cost can save thousands in repairs later. 3️⃣ Understand the Warranty – They made sure I knew exactly what was covered and what wasn’t so I wouldn’t be caught off guard with unexpected repair costs. Their Cars are "AS IS" so when you drive off its all on you. The 30 day return document is a formality that will not be honored. 4️⃣ Review the Financing Terms – They Explained that none of their advertised EV cars get the discount it is just a way to get people through the door but they explained my financing options, including interest rates, monthly payments, and any potential hidden fees, so there were no surprises. You will be told you can refinance your car later by their finance guy but Nas let me know chances are slim since their cars have a salvage title. 5️⃣ Take a Thorough Test Drive – Instead of a quick spin, they encouraged me to test the car under different road conditions to make sure it felt right. Additional Important Steps They Advised: 🔴 No Returns Policy – Once you sign, the car is yours. They emphasized doing all research beforehand, getting an inspection, and making sure I was 100% confident before committing. 🔴 Salvage Title Considerations – Many of their vehicles have salvage titles, which means: Insurance rates will likely be higher, and some insurance companies won’t cover salvage vehicles at all—so check before buying. Resale and trade-in value will be lower, and some dealerships won’t take salvage vehicles. Many banks won’t finance salvage titles, so you may need to pay in cash or use a lender that specializes in these purchases. 🔴 Check the Vehicle’s Value with Other Dealers – One of the best tips the manager gave me was to take the VIN numbers of the cars I was interested in and check with other dealerships to see what they would pay for it. This way, I could compare prices and see if I was actually getting a fair deal. That level of transparency really impressed me! I truly appreciated how upfront and honest they were. They didn’t pressure me into buying but instead gave me all the tools to make an informed decision. 2013 Ford Explorer review
10 years since we bought this vehicle used. It has been awesome, over 110K on the clock; minor problems only. Biggest problems are with brake corrosion caused by very salty roads here. undercarriage corrosion is starting to take its toll. But the vehicle is still good enough we are hesitating to upgrade. Some minor, weird but occasional , electric glitches, mostly self locking. But then, the lack of electronics relative to newer models is a big plus to us. We have now owned this vehicle longer than any other we have ever had. interior issues are with the glove box hinge (plastic and breaks if you are not careful), and elbow rests cracking.

2017 Ford Explorer review
I have had several Explorers all have been great vehicles. My newest is only a couple years old. I also still have a great running 26 year old with almost 200k miles. Never had a big or expensive problem with either. I can say the same for the BMWs, Mercedes and Infinity’s I have owned…Once these expensive vehicles warranty expired everything but their engine seemed to fall apart. My Fords are reliable and never break down (knock on wood) Not flashy like the imports but solid.

2017 Ford Explorer review
Bought this car in 2019 as my daily driver. It has enough space to transport my large and was very reliable until about 160,000 miles. Gasket seal and O2 sensors failed causing me $800 in repairs. Not super expensive, but like the previous review says check to see if there are any open recalls. Currently at 230,000 miles and still driving. If you follow the suggested maintenance schedule you'll be fine. If not, you'll be in for some trouble.

2018 Ford Explorer review
This is my fourth Explorer. I decided in 2018 to order the top-of-the-line Platinum. This vehicle has all the bells and whistles for a person that wants the luxury of one of Fords top models. It has Platinum leather seats that are very comfortable. If you can find today, buy it. It has the 3.5L V6 that has great power on acceleration. You can only buy a V6 now on the 2025 Explorer ST which is a 3.0L. The cost is around $60,000 Loaded.
