After almost 180,000 trouble-free miles with our 2015 Pilot and an excellent Honda dealer near by, we really didn’t look hard at anything but another Pilot when it was time for a new car. Our EXL, purchased in March 2024, just turned 20,000 miles. We have had no issues with it, and the trip computer says we have averaged 27.1 mpg over the last 5500 miles. That is about 4.5 mpg better than the 2015. The good: It is extremely roomy and comfortable, even the third-row seats. We are very pleased with the fuel economy for a vehicle of this size. The headlights are the best we’ve had on any vehicle. I really like the rugged looks, especially compared the the previous generation. It’s great on snowy and slippery surfaces. The not-as-good: This is my first vehicle with all the modern safety aids. I find the lane-departure system annoying, especially in construction zones. The first time I backed out of the garage with bikes on a hitch-mounted carrier, the car automatically slammed on the brakes so hard I thought I ran into something. (Pro tip: Use tow mode when hauling bikes.) I don’t use the adaptive cruise control because it starts matching the speed of the vehicle ahead long before I would normally change lanes to pass, even with the system adjusted accordingly. However, I can’t see that future vehicles will have FEWER of these features, so I suppose I will just have to get used to them.

No complaints overall on performance and durability. Only drawbacks is road noise. If you like to avoid road noise, this car is not for you. noise is too much than expected. i even went to Honda dealer to report noise, they replied me this is normal honda noise.

I had a great experience with the parts department — especially with Taylor, Kam, and Chad. They diligently helped me figure out exactly which tail light bulb was out, and made sure I got the correct replacement. The whole team took excellent care of me, and they did it quickly, too. This is the first Honda I have ever owned and will likely be the last as I expect it to out live me lol. We travel back and too from North Georgia to SW Florida and the car is so comfortable that I make the drive in one day. We get good gas mileage and the Pilot is a nice looking car with plenty of power.

I have had my X5 (and also a X1) serviced a number of times at BMW of Towson. We have always had a great experience there. My dad had a 2008 Honda Pilot EX-L with rear entertainment system. (RES/DVD PLAYER) It was the best in the we were on a road trip to Texas and 9 1/4 hours out of 10, we crashed but it was not our fault. Then a few days later it was totalled after we drove it back to Omaha. Best car in the world. Had it for 13 years.

I have the TrailSport and I tow a 3000lb camper. Positives: 1. Ruggedness. I have off road tires and steel plate. I don’t plan to rock climb but camping and exploring often comes with bad roads and if your family is with you, this three row is superbly equipped and capable. 2. Comfort. The Trailsport is tuned off road but what a nice cushy ride without a lot of truck-like bounce. Potholes barely disturb it. 3. Layout. Really easy to jump in and drive away. I did not need a two-hour class at the dealership. A good blend of old and new. Not to hard to get into the menu to reset seats and few other things. 4. Towing. I towed 3000lb at 75mph with no problem. It was steady, tracked well and with the trailer brake (added on) it stopped just fine and gas mileage was great at about 13-14mpg loaded up. I was as high as 11,000 feet. It’s really a great all purpose family vehicle to tow the camper or boats. Negatives: 1. Solid black vinyl interior. You only get black and it gets hot as xxxx if it’s in the sun with a window down or door open. You cannot get ventilated seats. Honda, seriously, add another lighter color. 2. You cannot get a bench middle seat which I prefer and is in ALL the other Pilots. 3. Speed. The power is good but it’s geared for off road and towing so really it’s a neutral but it will not take off like lots of others unless you press the pedal pretty hard. It’s not lacking, just takes more pedal travel. Overall, I love it as a good value for the money, well equipped with the 360 cameras I love and tows and does dirt roads well. I would NOT get this model for soccer team suburban duty but if you do real SUV things then it’s hard to beat. I am also not afraid of future expensive repairs being a Honda with a tried and true engine.
