Used Subaru Ascent for sale near Homewood, IL

My experience at Grand Subaru was grand. They did my oil change and checked my car for weaknesses. My Crosscheck passed with flying colors. My car is 10 years old and was the first hybrid back in 2016. When I received my color it was cleaned inside and out. I loved it!

Practical. We love our 2020 Ascent Limited and we live in the south. We have a large family and this is great while the kids are small. Once more than three are teenagers, we'll definitely need a larger vehicle that provides more leg room if you're sitting on the back row. Love the convenience and ease of how the rear seats fold forward when I'm shopping and/or loading up from the back. The 10 year 100k mile warranty was reasonably priced at less than $2.5k. Haven't had to use it yet (knock on wood). Again, it's practical so the seats aren't as plush as premium vehicles but they're nice and comfortable. This pretty much describes the interior. The electronics are comparable to most vehicles. It has everything you need but nothing over the top. (Again, practical.) Greatly appreciate the cabin air filter and ease of changing it. I like smelling a fresh interior all the time. We're in the south where it's high in pollen, so the HEPA cabin filter is perfect. In my opinion the Ascent is a great mid-size SUV option that looks nice, is practical and has that Subaru reliability.

After a lot of time and research we started our journey with a new Subaru Ascent. We then test drove 4 other vehicles and I didn't have the same feeling as I did in the Ascent. We originally were looking at a 2025; however, there was a beautiful new 2024 Subaru Ascent and that was the one! There is more room, I like the head space since we have some taller people in the family. We don't really use the third row, but it has come in handy and I am pleased with that. We keep it down a lot. As far as driving this vehicle, I am very comfortable and happy with this. You get a smooth ride with it and the engine has pick up when needed. This is my first keyless car; however, we had to have the remote start, we got spoiled. With that we needed to subscribe to Subaru and it was a small fee for 5 years, but there is a lot you can do on your phone. I like the screen and how well you can see while in reverse. I like the placement of the screen. I'm 5'2" and I can handle this vehicle and I am confident. Being short I liked that I can almost "kiss" the front and I am not tight and I can see clearly. My husband is taller and you have 2 presets for the driver's seat. One thing is that they offer a "refresher" type appointment and we went. It was one person who took us through our vehicle and the features and any questions that we had were answered. Had the questions been more important, I would have called his number ahead of time.

I absolutely loved the people who work there—they made the car-buying experience fun and stress-free. I drove off feeling confident that I got a great deal. I recently traded in my 2022 Ascent for a similar 2023 model. The 2022 model had brakes issues/noises right from the beginning of ownership. Subaru gave me a great deal on the 2023 model. A number of improvement were found on the 2023 model. Obvious one is the exterior styling with new front grille, headlights and taillights. Interior improvements include updated Eyesight, quieter ride, better steering and brakes, larger multimedia screen including front and backup camera screens, driver profile system. A few other tweaks here and there, making the 2023 Ascent Touring a decent and very safe SUV. Not necessarily sporty or thrilling but perfect vehicle for commuting in town and long road trips.

First service for 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid, oil change only. Quick and easy visit. Kevin kept me fully informed, answered several operational questions I had, and sought help on the one question he could not answer immediately.

We test drove the Grand Hylander and the Kia and this was by far the best riding vehicle. We love the all-wheel drive and the comfort of the seats. Drives quiet and super smooth. We were also able to get the car for significantly less than the other two options.

I am so impressed with how Devon Powers treated me when I inquired about a truck they had on their lot ! Although it didnt meet my needs , he didn’t brush me off because he wasn’t going to make a sale . Instead , he pointed me in the right direction and I am now closing in on the truck if my dreams !! This is my 4th Subaru and my 2nd Ascent. Overall it is a superb vehicle with minor issues in my view. The Driver Monitoring function is basically annoying. Either it disables itself or doesn’t alert at all (I’m always wearing sunglasses). The infotainment screen, at boot up, is agonizingly slow with some improvement after a couple of minutes. I assume that it is a processor issue. The front camera switch is in an awkward position (on the center console). It should be on the steering wheel or an icon on the screen. Acceleration is very good, brakes and steering as well. It is very quiet. Visibility is outstanding. All of the safety features are major pluses. Seats are very comfortable.

The safety feature saved us before we had 100 miles on the car. A van ran a stop a sign and the automatic braking stopped us 6-12" from being broadsided. Van was going 30 - 35MPH so it was great that we were saved by that.

Great experience, I knew what I was looking for before I had even arrived, Patrick Johnson was excellent. Not only did he show me exactly what I was looking for he even gave me the tour of the facility and of my brand new vehicle. We just traded our 2019 Ascent Touring, 52K miles (purchased used with 18K miles, and about 18 months old). We had no issues with the SUV. The turbo is just powerful enough to not worry about the power when needed. Interior held up very well to all the passengers, cargo, and 2 basset hounds as well. We're already sad and looking to get another one (we had downsized to Outback, but miss the big brute for many reasons, one of which is its interior space). I see some negative reviews here with brakes and other recall items, but somehow, we didn't experience either of those. Like I said, we're looking for another one, in hindsight we should've kept it. The only gripe I have is the poor tire choice by the Subaru, the original tires didn't last beyond 25k miles, replaced them with Continental tires and those should last the next owner for a while (originals were rated at 35k miles). Will update this post once we find a new one.

What a deal. Bought a 21 Challenger Scat Pack lowest price in country by thousands! Car was in mint condition, they were fast efficient and honest!The trade in process was simple gave me top dollar for my trade even though they gave me smoking deal on car! Bob is the best thank you and good luck!

I'm still driving the 2019 Ascent with 56k miles. Other than a few recalls handled quickly, no issues whatsoever. Dependable, quiet, performance, comfort. I just had a loaner of the 2023 Ascent Touring model and I was amazed at the improvements. While I am keeping and love my 2019, the 2023 has improved handling, quieter, the transmission is certainly smoother and a solid and comfortable ride. Perhaps it has to due with the Touring model. I am not certain. I find my Subaru dealer to be honest, supportive and with an educated staff. This Ascent is large, which I enjoy immensely and without any family. The fit and finish is outstanding and the dash is quality components. No cheap plastic knobs or low grade materials. I would encourage you to test drive one today.

This is my second Subaru Ascent. My first was the 2019, and when it came time that my son needed a car, we decided to pass that one on to him since I drive a lot and it had almost 100,000 miles on it. We went out and test drove other SUV's, and after doing so, decided on getting another Subaru Ascent because of how much I enjoyed the first one. The 2019 recall kinks seem to have been worked out in the 2023 model. What I can say about even the 2019 though is that the manufacturer stood behind the items that needed to be fixed, even replacing my whole transmission when the recall patch did not work correctly. We are now a Subaru family.

First Subaru ever. Got the Ascent Touring onyx. Fully loaded. The handling is great. I love the all wheel drive. It is much zippier than my Toyota Highlander Hybrid. For the money, the safety equipment, and extras are worth it. I LOVE the auto vehicle hold! Never knew I needed it until I had it. I miss the mileage of my hybrid, but the amount I drive it is not too much of an overall ownership cost difference. The center counsel system is slow to react sometimes, and would like physical buttons. Otherwise I love the large screen. Happy that the shifter is actually a shifter not a button or knob. Love the rear view camera, and surround cameras for parking are good. App, is better than most, and facial recognition is great for seat, mirror adjustments and lifetime gas mileage!

Took my mom to buy a pre-driven Camry. Car was there, clean, and ready to go. Test Drove, no issues. In and out fast, no games. No pressure. Good Sales Price. Worked with Mike Rubino, good experience! Would Highly Recommend Him!

7th Subaru for this Alaskan. This is the best I’ve ever had. Bought the Touring edition, new, & still blown away by the rig. Tested out with a cross country camping trip & comfort, adaptability, utilities, dependability - all a 5. Took a tent, but not even needed, w/firm foam to create a level, comfy bed area. Now I get why my cousin tried to replace his Ascent Touring with a Lincoln Navigator. Ended up selling the Nav to go back to an Ascent Touring. The first Sub I’ve had that Dad proclaimed ‘comfortable’ and ‘perfect’. I chose the Captains chairs for the 2nd seat, and passengers have loved the comfort & their view, as well as their controls, drink holders, etc. I love the options to simply control everything. Almost killed by a drunk driver long ago, I keep a very close eye on everything around me. Visibility in this rig is mind blowing. And that’s on top of all the cameras that monitor what’s happening. Safety features are perfect. Like listening to music, radio, podcasts? Sound in the Touring edition is heavenly. Very, very impressed with this rig.

Have owned this 2019 Subaru ascent touring model for just over 2 years. Eye site feature is my fav. Car responds to changing traffic speeds automatically. great in heavy highway traffic. The Subaru service department at my dealership keeps it in tp top shape. I highly highly recommend this car. I'm sure the newer models are even better.

Beautiful vehicle. Plenty of power, excellent braking. Fit and finish is outstanding. More headroom that other SUV's we drove. Right size for us, plenty of room in a midsize+ vehicle. Love the 4-wheel drive. Highly recommend.

Great bunch of people . Not high pressure sales . They go above on trying to help you and accommodate . I wish I would have went with them but purchased another vehicle thinking payments would be lower but they turned out the same .

Great SUV. Very comfortable, Performance is acceptable. I am 6' 2" and I have plenty of leg room. Even have to move driver seat forward to drive. Auto adjust feature for driver seat is nice. Wish it included side mirrors also. Only drawback I find is the gas mileage. In this day of soaring gas prices it is a huge downside.

Great car but excessive tones/beeps/alarms/etc. Jolting. You think something is wrong with the car. Especially the seat belt one—SCREAMS at you. Creates stupid drivers who rely on all these warnings.

Fantastic vehicle that is loaded with features. The value of this SUV is tremendous. It is certainly a great vehicle that should be top of list.
