A 261-hp version of this engine is also available, and each utilizes a 12-volt mild-hybrid system to boost fuel economy. Want a little more get-up-and-go? The spicier S4 sedan is motivated by a 349-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that’s paired with an eight-speed automatic. The A4’s rivals include the Genesis G70, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series.

All A4 trims get a host of new standard features, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure steering assist, parking assist and a heated steering wheel with hands-on detection. All trims except the base A4 40 now include remote start through the myAudi app. A Navigation Package that’s optional on the Premium Plus trim and standard on Prestige trims gets added functionality, including traffic sign recognition that activates predictive adaptive cruise control. Navigation-equipped models now come with a six-month trial subscription to Audi Connect Plus, making music, video, gaming, navigation and other apps accessible through the center screen.
