The Ranger was redesigned for 2024, so there are no major changes this year, just some new paint colors and a Black Appearance Package. The new truck is longer, wider and sits higher off the ground than its predecessor, and it boasts an updated interior with more standard and available tech features. Highlights in the latter category include automated parking and a handy system to help drivers back up with a trailer attached. The long-awaited Ranger Raptor also arrived last year, bringing high-speed off-road excitement for about $20,000 less than the F-150 Raptor.

Not only can it tug heavier loads than its competitors — properly equipped, it can pull up to 7,500 pounds — but an available Pro Trailer Backup Assist system makes a challenging task easy. And there’s nothing else like the Ranger Raptor — except for the more expensive (and thirstier) F-150 Raptor. If daily usability and comfort are of greater concern than towing, though, you’ll likely be happier with one of the Ranger’s competitors.
