2021 Tesla Model Y review
The moment I got the demo car onto the highway, I thought to myself, “I LOVE this car!” Which rarely happens. I test drove both the Model 3 and Model Y in snowy conditions, and had not a single bout of fear that I may lose control. A few weeks ago, when we were getting a winter blizzard, I was driving my Mother home from Boulder. It was snowing about 2” -3” per hour, people were spinning out all over the place. One word for this dealership: WOW! I was looking for a BMW X5 and found FJ Motor Group online. From the very first phone call until the moment I drove away in my X5, the entire experience was five stars all around. Blanche was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, responsive, honest, and genuinely willing to go the extra mile. Best of all, there was absolutely zero pressure at any point. I never felt like I was being “sold” a car. It felt more like I was dealing with someone who genuinely wanted me to be happy with whatever decision I made. I’m very particular about my cars, and I had a few concerns before purchasing this one. I wanted the exterior to clean up really well, so Blanche had the vehicle professionally detailed for me. Afterward, it looked fantastic. I also wanted to have an independent pre-purchase inspection performed. Her response was basically, “No problem.” She made the process incredibly easy and gave me absolutely no resistance whatsoever. The inspection came back excellent overall, with the only real item being front brake pads that would need replacement soon — nothing unexpected on a used vehicle. The X5 had only one key when Blanche received it, and I told her that having two keys was important to me. Again, “No problem.” She arranged to have a second key made for me at her cost, which saved me a significant amount of money compared with what I would have paid elsewhere. Blanche truly gives new meaning to the phrase “going the extra mile.” Even the actual purchase process could not have been easier. I had already arranged financing through my credit union and arrived with my check. From the time we sat down to complete the paperwork until I was finished, it took literally about 15 minutes. I couldn’t believe it. It was easily the fastest and simplest vehicle purchase I’ve ever made. I have purchased a lot of cars in my life — easily 15 to 20 or more — and this was, by far, the best car-buying experience I have ever had. Not even close. I couldn’t be happier with the X5, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the way Blanche handled the entire transaction from beginning to end. Going forward, whenever I’m looking for another vehicle — or whenever a family member or friend tells me they’re looking for one — Blanche will be the first person I contact. So if you’re reading these reviews because you’re wondering whether FJ Motor Group is reputable or whether you can feel comfortable buying a vehicle from them, take it from someone who has bought a lot of cars: you are in very good hands with Blanche. Thank you again, Blanche. You made what is normally a stressful process genuinely enjoyable, and you earned a customer for life.

2021 Tesla Model Y review
The Tesla driver interface is unique, but becomes second nature and pretty good in just a few drives. Interior is very comfortable, quiet, and spacious, but a bit sparse for the price point. Performance is great but the inability of virtually all EVs to meet their EPA range estimates without going downhill with a tailwind is disappointing. Charging at home is great. The Tesla charging network works very well as does the Tesla app on your smartphone. We have seen none of the build quality issues others have previously noted. Tesla customer support for us has been good and responsive as we’ve worked through questions and bought accessories. Overall, with weight and aero being determinants of EV range, the Model Y is a very well designed vehicle. Aero drove the exterior design and weight the interior. The resulting looks are either something you like, or not, but for their purpose, they work. Right sized and shaped outside, very spacious inside. Recent price cuts made the value decision one we could live with. Compared it with every other EV of its size and very happy with our choice.

I called to negotiate price because the car was a bit overpriced compared to a strikingly similar car on the market. I was told they don't haggle. A few days later the car went on sale and I grabbed it right away. I paid cash, which the other dealership was making really hard to do: no transfer, wait for cashier's check to clear before getting the car, etc. This dealer took a personal check (it cleared several days after getting the car). Good follow-up afterwards. My only complaint was the whole process took several hours. I had no financing to process so it would have been nice to go faster.

People sometimes forget how important it is to have a trusted local mechanic and service team that truly knows your vehicle and will actually fight to get problems solved correctly. Everyone needs people like that in their corner. I want to recognize the team at Jeep Santa Monica, including Zachary, Head of Service, Meech, my service representative, and Jesus, the miracle-worker mechanic behind the scenes, who ultimately tracked down and solved a very difficult fuel-to-air ratio problem with my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I've been bringing my Jeep there for a couple of years now, and I can honestly say the service experience has improved fourfold. Communication, follow-through, professionalism, and willingness to stay with a difficult problem until it is actually solved have all noticeably improved. What started as an intermittent drivability issue ultimately turned into a major repair involving replacement of all six fuel injectors, along with additional diagnostic and repair work. Modern vehicles are incredibly complicated today, and intermittent air-fuel balance problems can be extremely difficult to isolate. Instead of taking shortcuts or repeatedly clearing codes, the team kept digging until they identified the root cause. , What impressed me most was that they also went to bat for me directly with Mopar Flex Care Extended Warranty (highly recommend getting this to have Mopar guaranteed service for 80 bucks a month) and were able to get the repairs fully covered, which was a huge relief considering the scale of the work involved. Yes, the process took time, and having my vehicle down for over a week was stressful. But in the end, I genuinely felt like the dealership cared about resolving the issue properly rather than simply moving the vehicle through the system. The Jeep is now running smoother and stronger than it has in a long time, and credit absolutely goes to the people who stayed with the problem until it was fixed. Thank you again to my pros Zachary, Meech, Jesus, and the Jeep Santa Monica service team. In today's world, good service people who truly stand behind their work are worth celebrating -- and everyone needs people like that in their corner.

2021 Tesla Model Y review
One of the best cars I owned. With recent price reduction on Teslas, this car is excellent value. First of acceleration does not get old. Puts a smile on my face every time. One pedal driving is fantastic once you get used to it. So many different features and you get more with every update. This is so cool to own car for 6 month or longer and still get new features. I’m assuming they had some quality issue with early models. Mine is 2022 and fit and finish is excellent. All works as advertised. I was a bit skeptical about getting a Tesla myself due to so many negative comments. But my personal experience is excellent. No rattles. Love using my phone as a key. So convenient. Audio system is one of the best in business. Give Tesla a try and you will not be disappointed. Range is plenty for daily city driving. Saving ton of money on gas. Convenience of charging at home. No more Costco gas station lines. Time will tell, but as far as I understand this electric engines are much simpler and this more reliable in a long term.
