What’s New?
The GMC Yukon and its long-wheelbase Yukon XL twin are mainstays in the full-size three-row SUV class. They combine spacious seating for up to eight occupants and a large cargo hold with the ability to tow up to 8,400 pounds. They’re wrapped in finer furnishings than the mechanically similar Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban without the full cachet of the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV. There are no major changes to the Yukon for 2026.

Trim Levels and Safety Features
Every 2026 Yukon boasts a comprehensive suite of standard safety technologies. The list includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure steering assist, blind spot intervention, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, road-sign recognition, automatic high beams, a 360-degree camera system and automated parking. Super Cruise hands-free highway driving is optional on every trim level.
The entry-level Elevation trim rides on 20-inch wheels and features LED exterior lighting, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power liftgate, keyless entry and start, and remote start. Inside, the Yukon is upholstered in a blend of synthetic and genuine leather and boasts power-adjustable and heated front seats, heated outboard second-row seats, a heated steering wheel and three-zone automatic climate control. Cabin tech consists of an 11-inch digital instrument panel and a 16.8-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging and a 10-speaker Bose sound system.
Only available with four-wheel drive, the Yukon AT4 gets a tough off-road appearance thanks to black 20-inch wheels wearing all-terrain tires, a unique front bumper with red tow hooks and a skid plate. It also gains adaptive dampers, a hands-free power liftgate, perforated leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a power tilt and telescoping steering column.
The standard Denali features upgraded interior materials and trim, as well as second-row captain’s chairs, a power-sliding center console and a head-up display. The AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate trim levels include an adjustable-height air suspension, a panoramic moonroof, an integrated trailer brake controller, an upgraded cooling system for towing, a security system and a driver-attention monitor. Additional luxury equipment includes massaging front seats, an 18-speaker Bose sound system, two 12.6-inch touchscreen entertainment displays mounted in the front-seat head restraints and an 8-inch rear-seat climate-control touchscreen. The AT4 Ultimate sticks with 20-inch wheels, but the Denali Ultimate upgrades to 24s.

Powertrain Specs and MPG
The standard engine in the 2026 Yukon is a 5.3-liter V-8 making 355 horsepower and 383 pounds-feet of torque. A 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 hp and 460 pounds-feet is optional on the AT4 and standard on the Denali, Denali Ultimate and AT4 Ultimate. A diesel 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder is available on all trims and puts out 305 hp and 495 pounds-feet. Regardless of engine choice, a 10-speed automatic is the only transmission offered.
Rear-wheel drive is standard on the Elevation and Denali, with 4WD; 4WD is standard on the AT4, AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate. The diesel is the (relative) efficiency choice, returning an EPA-rated 21/26/23 mpg city/highway/combined with RWD and 20/24/22 mpg with 4WD. There is less difference in efficiency between the two V-8 choices than buyers may expect, with the 5.3-liter rated at 15/20/17 mpg with RWD and 15/19/17 mpg with 4WD and the 6.2-liter returning 15/20/17 mpg with RWD and 14/18/16 mpg with 4WD.
