Used BMW X5 for sale near Clifton, NJ

It’s funny how one row has normal sedans and two cars later there’s a fresh sports car or a big truck. That’s a plus for me: I came in with one budget in my head, then realized I could stretch a bit and move up without changing dealerships.

Biggest negative on the X5 is the run flat tires. I think they reduce the quality of the ride and at 5,000 miles had to replace two flat tires ---- non-repairable damage.

Before you buy any BMW older than 2018, check out the Isley V BMW lawsuit. You will find the V8 in all pre 2018 BMW's to be problematic for oil leaks and valve stem failures due to defective engine design and excessive heat. I have this X5 with the V8 and it's a wonderful car to drive and look at. It's my 5th BMW and by far the most reliable. Unfortunately, even with all the meticulous care, my car has experienced the oil leak and smoking exhaust, just like all the N63 & N63TU engines through 2018 will experience this problem and the cost to repair exceeds $20K from the dealer. If you find one that had the valve stem seals replaced, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, it's a great vehicle in many ways.

I have a question everyone . I have a 2008 bmw x5 . It has 183,000 miles on it . It’s has a 4x4 light on engine and a triangle looking thing on top . I want to drive it 9 hours back and fourth , would it make it there ? How far have yall driving yall bmw ?

This 4000 lb beast maneuvers like a sports car. As someone who's always been passionate about cars, I leaned towards vehicles like the 3 series coupe or Audi A5. However, when the need for family space arose, SUVs felt dull. Then I got behind the wheel of the X5. It's a revelation—you truly don't have to compromise. The car is spectacular, it only brings a defect to me concern, the star/stop bottom does not have the option to deactivate it, although in sport mode it is not bad. In areas of uneven pavement the car jumps like a rabbit, it's not comfortable, but smooth is not bad. The car is almost perfect except for those two things, and very economical in the city, spectacular on the highway and off roads or mountains, it is super good and capable. Mine has not brought mechanical or electrical problems. super nice everything

I’ve owned two 2015 X5D’s - daily driven for 7 years for a combined 173,000 miles (sales job), I averaged 29MPG on each tank in mixed driving (38+mpg on hwy using renewable diesel in CA), and it’s been so much more reliable than any gas car I’ve owned… The only car that compares in reliability is two BMW 328 diesels I’ve owned - I’m not going back to gas cars. I may consider Cayenne diesel as the only other alternative daily driver, otherwise I’ll stay with X5 diesels.

We take trips to Cashiers/Highlands NC frequently. The drive is just over 5 hrs an it flies by quickly as the car is so comfortable. The peppy V8 has lots of power to pass quickly on the highway when necessary. Once we get into the mountains it feels great to switch from Eco mode to sports mode to attack those tight turns :)

This my first BMW x5 sdrive. I bought it used with 61,000 miles. Everything works perfect. I just had it serviced at BMW of Murrieta California and as expected it showed with no issues.

I love my X5 !!! It meets all my needs. There is enough space for the dogs and the kids. It drives great, it is very comfortable. Big enough but not too big. It tows well.

I have this car for 26,000 miles now. This is the best X5 that I have ever owned. The new engine is great on the xdrive 40i. No need for the M60. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. Handling is great. Tires and much better than on the previous generation. The ride is tight and comfortable. They did an awesome job. Hopefully, this car will last as long as my previous 2010 X5.

Delivery was not as promised postpone timing 4 times now waiting for the Liscense plate paid in full has not received any receipt nor paperwork? Leakage of Antifreeze no washer fluid oil needed to be changed waiting for PA Liscense plate to obtain state inspection….
