I love my 2014 Mazda CX-5. It is technically a 2014, but apparently no 2014s on Cars.com to review. It is so reliable—requires just basic maintenance like oil changes, new windshield wipers and tires as you’d need on any vehicle. Handles well, even on snow. Wish it had a turbo engine, but it’s plenty fast and not an issue. Never had any big expenses or surprises. My only 1st world complaint is the outdated/cumbersome GPS system and it sometimes doesn’t connect to my Bluetooth when trying to play Pandora—but the phone has never been an issue. I may look for a newer to me CX-5 just for something new to drive! My step-son may be the lucky one in line to drive the 2014 CX-5 next!

We were looking to buy my daughter a reliable car she felt safe in but also was not gonna break down. As soon as we pulled in we were nicely greeted and shown several cars in her price range she tested drove a Nissan very clean ran great she loved it we ended up buying it Hampden Trading Co went through the car , detailed it and we picked it up in a few days .They were all very polite and pleasure doing business with. Whether you’re an enthusiast or not, you will enjoy this thing until the wheels fall off. Now, if you’re an enthusiast, or just someone who loves the feel of the road underneath you but needs something fairly practical? This is the car for you. With ample power, and steering feel that would put some sports cars to shame, you will feel confident, and often joyous when behind the wheel of the CX-5, especially with the Manual version that came in the “Sport” trim! Although that engine is suggested to be fairly gutless. However, if you prefer the automatic versions with the larger engine, like in my Grand Touring trim, you will absolutely be able to enjoy the road, regardless of the local speed limit. The CX-5 may not be the fastest car in its class, but it surely is the most fun, and the best value among its competitors.. but it’s mainly just fun. I recently got my CX-5 at my local dealer, and it has done nothing but get me to work when I want it to, taken me on small trips to wherever I want, and without any real complaints. Only times it gets annoyed with me is if I need to pass anybody at highway, but that’s what makes it so much fun to live with in my opinion, especially with the little rev-happy 4-pot motors that it can come with. In conclusion, if you want a sub-compact crossover.. but also want the feel of Mazda’s own roadster? Get the CX-5. It will bring you as many smiles per gallon as you need it to.

I bought the 2015 cx5 used a few months ago with 88k miles on it. Based on my research it should last up to 300k miles with regular maintenance and non aggressive driving. I have the grand touring trim in all black. It's a very good looking vehicle inside and out. Placement of gauges is very good and buttons/functions are easy to access. Temperature functions are simple and work really well. Good venting. Windshield wipers work fine but the intermittent timer sometimes seems to fluctuate either based on speed of the car or there's something malfunctioning. I can't tell to be honest. Storage is good and there's enough pockets, compartments and spaces for personal items. Overall the look and feel seems right on the bubble of being luxury. The handling is on the stiffer side made to give a feel of performance which it does. I get a pretty strong connection with the road. The turns are tight. It feels good to drive and it's even fun though I don't push that. I used to have a Mazda protege in the 90's and it gave that handling excitement despite its modest power. The cx5 reminds me why I liked that car. The lag when pressing hard on the gas is a bit annoying and the 0-60 time seems a bit slow for the 184hp 2.5l engine but once it gets into it's power band it goes. Gas mileage is very good imo. I get 26 mpg combined city/highway. Seats are comfortable enough though I might have chosen the touring model for the cloth seats instead of leather because items slide off the seats and I notice some wear and stitching tears that I'll need to have repaired. The adjustments with the seats are very good I think. I like the lumbar support. The hatchback works well but I would have appreciated an automatic open/close function. I haven't had a large hatchback before and it's a bit annoying having to force the closing if I have items in my hand. 1st world criticism certainly. The biggest issue with this model year (and I think all models up to 2018(?) is the gps and entertainment unit. It uses the old TomTom navigation system which is very clunky and too frustrating to bother with. I use my phone instead. The entertainment system works well enough but I'm surprised it included a CD player even in 2015. I don't listen to the radio or have a Sirius subscription so I mostly Bluetooth connect my phone for streaming music and navigation. It shouldn't be necessary with an integrated system already in place but the installed system is that bad. It's all made worse by the Bluetooth tech. It often disconnects for no reason and sometimes takes a minute or longer for the system to recognize my phone. Sometimes it will be connected but there's no sound, again for no reason I can see. Usually these issues happen at start up and once I'm driving a few minutes it works fine. If I watch a video on phone there's a big latency lag from the phone to the stereo. It's big enough that it's unwatchable since a mouth moves but the sounds come later. I have to disconnect bluetooth when watching a video which is a major annoyance. I'm planning on replacing the stereo head unit in the future which hopefully will solve all these problems. Overall it's really a great car.

I did an extensive research on Japanese SUV’s and I kept coming back to the Mazda CX5. This vehicle is beautiful inside and out and is amazingly smooth and quiet. It also has really good handling and plenty of power even with the 4 cylinder. I think Mazda gives the best bang for the buck of all the Japanese car brands. I highly recommend the Mazda CX5.

We have owned our 2022 CX-5 Turbo for 10 moths and it is a great vehicle. Our previous SUV was an Acura RDX Advance. It too was great but this Mazda is of a higher quality and $10-$15,000 less when purchased new. Every once in a while the doors don’t lock when I walk away (I have it set up to do so) and that is the only issue I have had in 10 months and 10,000 miles. I highly recommend any Mazda product. We also own a ‘21 Miata RF, have owned several Miatas along with a Mazda6 Signature and a CX-9 Grand Touring. All have been great vehicles.

This is my first CX-5. I love it. Previously I drove a mazda tribute which was a 6 cylinder. I was reluctant to purchase a smaller vehicle with a smaller engine, but I’ve been pleased. My only negative comment is regarding the leg room in the back seat. It’s not great but workable for most average size adults.

Found the specific, rare car for which i was searching. It was at Blasius pre owned. I had never heard of them so I took the trip from NY to see the car. He took the time to show me different trim lines of the model I was interested in and had me test drive several of them to ensure I was buying the right one for me. I am delighted with my 2023 CX-5 Signature in the hard-to-find Eternal Blue. I've had it about one year now and it's more than adequate for my driving needs. No, I don't need a rattle-prone pano sunroof. The six-speed non-CVT transmission is just fine. Never need or use(less) the paddle shifters. Performance with regular fuel is just fine. As an "early senior", I don't need huge cargo or passenger space. Only complaints are the Apple CarPlay isn't wireless; and miss the power tilt/telescope steering wheel and power memory exit seat that I had on my unbeloved '20 Lexus NX (which I was glad to get rid of!). All told, I'm a Mazda believer and buh-bye Lexus!

Have had our 2022 for 8 months now. It's been great, the fit/finish and ride are superior, IMHO, then my previous CRV and Rav4 vehicles. The only thing I would like to see is a touch screen entertainment center rather then the manual knob. The interior is well laid out with quality accents, feel and quiet, again far superior to our previous SUVs. So far it's been mechanically sound with no issues and we are enjoying it very much.

Review for service side of things- I cannot thank Liberty Mazda Service department enough. I used Liberty Mazda for over a year until I relocated and decided to try out a different Mazda Dealership. The two just simply cannot be compared. Following damages done to my vehicle by a separate dealership, Liberty took me back under their wing and “righted all the wrongs” that were not their own. They are always understanding, kind and flexible. Their actions and work alone have kept me as a customer with the Mazda corporation as a whole. Jason, the Service manager, is personable and friendly and makes you feel like you are being cared for at a small business or local shop. Craig and George, my service representatives, have always been professional and gone above and beyond in customer service. It is rare you find a dealership service department you fully trust to take good care of your vehicle with honesty and integrity. While already rated in high regards, I hope Mazda corporation further recognizes its service members at Liberty. When it’s time to upgrade, I know exactly where I will be shopping. I would recommend this car for a single individual, maybe as a commuter or a teenage driver. I wouldn’t recommend for growing families. Four adults will not fit comfortably, it’s just too small. I wish I would have got the CX-70 but they’re just too expensive.

Have the 2025 CX-50 in white premium addition. Often think whether I should have bought the turbo as I wish I had some more power, but I didn’t want to give our insurance a reason to hike rates. It gets the job done and in style. Interior is nicely finished but I’ve experienced many little rattles from instrument cluster, A pillar, mounted Bose speakers, etc. lots of felt tape was needed to mitigate. Technology is the major con here. Constantly have to reconnect Bluetooth so I just plug it in now all the time. Wireless phone charger never works - it overheats seemingly after two minutes and stops working. At times the tailgate buttons seem to get confused and don’t know what you’re asking it to do. And the way the doors all lock / unlock together can be frustrating and I’ve learned that it depends on how many times you hit the disarm / unlock button on the key fob. Finally, memory seats never worked since buying it new, and I’m too lazy to bring it in all day for that. I like the car but I’m not sure I’ll get into another one after my time is up with it.

Mazda is comfortable, I'm in my 70's Reliable, rides great, great on gas. Something that is great on the road, Able to handle, I've handle: M-6 sadan, SUV 5, big enough good room ,and M-cx30 and 3. All long distance traveling. And not high maintenance. Good for all season

Car is perfect for my needs. It is spacious and well designed. 9nly problem is the passenger airbag light activated when passenger seat is empty. Very annoying. You see it every time you look in your rear view mirror. Easy fix a piece of matte black masking tape.

I love my CX30. Only a few very minor complaints. The back seat is small. I would only recommend it for small children. Since i'm the only user, it doesn't really apply to me. The car overall is small, which makes it easier to maneuver and more fun to drive than larger CX models. I'm 6'3 tall and have no problem fitting in the driver's seat - plenty of head and leg room. The other complaint is the small gas tank (under 13 gallons). Even though, I don't regret buying my CX30. It's a lot of fun! I would definitely recommend not looking at any trim level lower than premium due to all the options the premium includes. I opted for the non-turbo. It's fast enough without it, and was 3K less.

They may not have the largest selection or the biggest showroom, but the Customer Service was top notch. Incredibly easy and worry free shopping and buying process and friendly and helpful staff. Couldn't be much happier.

I purchased this car after getting hit head on in my Mazda MX five, which was totaled, but thankfully protected me from serious injury. I’m a big Mazda fan having owned a brand new Miata for 20 years prior to trading it in for the MX five. I looked at BMW, Audi, Lexus, Mercedes, and several other type SUV vehicles and chose to purchase the CX 30. I love the size and the nimbleness of handling. The reliability of Mazda’s can’t be beat in my opinion. I have essentially had no issues after buying this car brand new in December 2019 and still owning it as of spring 2024. Other than the normal maintenance I’ve had zero problems. It is easy to park maneuver and has good storage. If someone has really long legs and it’s going to ride in the back seat, they may not be perfectly comfortable. There are several things I wish I could change. One the size of the key fob is too big to fit into small purses And pockets. The center console top opens weirdly, and if you have the back seat full of items, it is often impossible to get into that compartment. It would be better if it open side to side, as is more traditional than tilting to the back where there isn’t adequate clearance when the backseat is full. The only other thing I wish is that it had electric seats. I also find that the shoulder strap on my neck given my height, and it would be very helpful if the shoulder strap was adjustable for people who are not tall. I agree with the reviews describing the easiness of the entertainment system. There is very little not to like about this car. I will definitely buy this model again.

I am very happy with my purchase. I already owned a 2018 CX-5 and it never gave me any problems so I had no qualms about purchasing another Mazda. I went with the CX-50 Turbo Premium Plus for the horsepower and the extra perks (i.e. automatic folding mirrors, and I like that the side mirrors also turn down to see the curb when parking, front AND rear cameras, panoramic sun/moonroof, speed display in windshield, heated and ventilated cooling seats, and a 12-speaker Bose Stereo system). I love the extra power of the Turbocharged engine that my CX-5 doesn't have. The things I don't care for: 1) the retractable cargo cover (a $250 addl charge) doesn't attack to the lift (like my CX-5 does. It's much more convenient if it's attached so there's no pulling it out each time you need to put something in the trunk; 2) I don't like that I have to turn off the automatic shut off of the engine at stops and that I have to turn it off every time I get in the car. I'd like there to be an option to turn it off indefinitely unless and until I want to turn it on; 3) I would also love it if the driver and front passenger seats raised a bit higher. I'm not short but I would feel more comfortable if the seat height lifted another couple of inches. Overall, I really love my car. The steering is tight and the ride is more comfortable than I expected, and the inside of the cab is quiet and the stereo is premium. The seats are attractive with the light colored stitching to accent the seats. Because of all the features in my model, I got a lot of bang for my buck as opposed to a more expensive car costing $20K more for all the same features with Mazda reliability as well as more reasonable/affordable maintenance costs. I had a BMW several years ago and, once out of warranty, the maintenance is ridiculously costly. Additionally, the service department at the dealership where I purchased my car is top notch and the transparency for maintenance is appreciated! In the last 7 years of owning a Mazda, I have never had a bad experience.

Overall, enjoy my Mazda CX Premium. Pros: Great Handling and solid stance, prefer the lower to the ground/wagon feel, priority on driving vs tech. Google maps and streaming and I am happy Cons: Short driver seat lacks support. Fabric seats in premium have developed a few snags, Infotainment bugs (I like the knob): can add same station to favorites multiple times, statelite always starts at beginning versus current station, and screen dimming auto dim required reading online forums to see the dashboard buttons override the infotainment vehicle setting. Lastly the IP plastic/crystal had to have replaced due to scratch and replaced one still seems low quality. 24 MY upgraded the suspension to make softer and the steering is not as heavy.
