Very reliable, engine is built to last as long!

It's a really good car if you need a TRUE sport utility vehicle. One of the few body on frame SUVs left that stay true to their off road roots, but yet stylish and sexy for an awesome around town vehicle that still turns heads. Resale is also really good on 4Runner's, just like Tacoma's. The reason is the engines, and mechanical components are built to last, and as long as you do your regular maintenance and oil changes, your mechanic will tell you the car is like new. I have 3 friends that own 5th generation 4Runner's and their maintenance guys all say the same thing, and I've never heard of one breaking down.
On top of that if you live in an area that gets a lot of snow, this is a fantastic 4x4. Good luck getting stuck. I always say, "4Runner Don't Care!"
If you like a little luxury (leather, heated seats, touch screen nav and premium sound), they have models that have all those bells and whistles. From SR5 to Limited, there is a 4Runner that will work for you. I have the Trail, and it's built for off-roading, but still was a great "go-to-work" car for me. Gas mileage isn't bad either for such as sport worthy vehicle.
