Five Star Customer Service !!

I visited the Service Department of Koons Arlington Toyota on Friday morning (Black Friday) for the first time, and for my first scheduled 6 month service on our new 2018 Toyota Yaris iA sedan, which was ranked the safest subcompact on the market. For a subcompact, it has more features that most compacts have and is a pleasure to drive. As we are low mileage drivers and had just under 1,000 miles on the car, I was wondering why I had to service it at six months. I was thinking maybe so the dealership could make more money. Well, I was wrong. I approached Mr. Mehedi Patwary the Assistant Service Manager to turn my car in. After reviewing the paperwork and mileage, he advised that I should wait until the 8 month point to turn it in for the first service so that I could get all three free services spread out evenly over the 24 month free service period. And he added that the Warranty would not be negatively affected. I found Mr. Patwary to be very professional, customer oriented and very easy to work with. I was more than pleasantly surprised by his focus on my personal situation. Later that afternoon, the low tire pressure warning light went on, but upon inspecting the tires, none was losing air to the point that I had to be worried. So this morning, Saturday, Nov. 24th, I took it back and wow, was the service department busy. I re-approached Mr. Patwary thinking he probably couldn't be bothered as it was so busy, but again, I was very pleasantly surprised. He stopped what he was doing, listened to me and simply said please let me have the keys and I'll have someone reset the light after insuring all four tires were brought back up proper tire pressure right away! The car had been sitting as I purchased it over the internet some months ago for my wife who had returned to the U.S. a few months before I could. When they were working the fix for the tire pressure warning light, he came back to me and advised me that the car did not have the required Virginia safety inspection on it, asking if they could do it for me then. I had been unaware of this as I was overseas. I said yes, please. They did and everything was done with the car given back to me in about 30 minutes, a miracle in view of how busy they were. In my 40+ years of buying and driving cars, I have never received such professional customer service from any dealership's customer service department. Koons Arlington Toyota will get my service business for years to come, thanks to the superior customer service provided by Mr. Mehedi Patwary.
