2024 Toyota Camry review: Our expert's take
The bestselling sedan in the U.S. and No. 7 overall through June per Automotive News, the Toyota Camry steamrolls into 2024 with only a $100 price increase ($200 for hybrids) over 2023 to keep its momentum going. Unchanged for the new model year, the mid-size stalwart now starts at $27,515 (all prices include $1,095 for delivery).

Twin Lines
A dizzying array of powertrain options likely contributes to the Camry’s success, as there’s a version for everyone. Toyota splits the Camry into comfort (LE, XLE) and sport-oriented (SE, XSE) lines, the LE.
The Camry’s base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes up to 206 horsepower depending on the trim; it’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available with the four-cylinder for an extra $1,400. The XLE and XSE can alternately be upgraded to a 301-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 for $5,125 (the TRD is available only with the V-6). V-6 models come only with FWD. A 208-hp hybrid powertrain is also available and combines the 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor, a continuously variable automatic and FWD; it’s manufacturer-rated up to 52 mpg combined.
Trim Levels
All 2024 Camrys come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which bundles adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, and lane-centering steering with lane departure warning.
Standard equipment on the Camry LE includes dark-gray 17-inch wheels, a dark-gray grille and LED lighting front and rear. Seating in the LE is cloth, with an eight-way power-adjustable seat for the driver and six-way manual adjustment for the front passenger. The LE also gets a 4.2-inch digital screen in the instrument cluster, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, six speakers and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility.
Upgrading to the XLE nets blind spot monitors, proximity keyless entry, keyless starting, 18-inch wheels, wood trim, leather seats that are heated in front, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with expanded functionality, wireless phone charging and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
In addition to black exterior elements and a revised suspension, the SE gets front seats trimmed in synthetic leather and black 18-inch wheels. The SE Nightshade adds black heated power mirrors, bronze 19-inch wheels, a black rear spoiler and black badging. The XSE adds all the same goodies as the XLE, plus 19-inch wheels, dual exhaust with quad tips, and metallic interior trim.
The sportiest of the Camrys, the TRD rides on a TRD suspension with larger brakes and matte-black 19s. Unique aero elements including a splitter, side skirts and a red-trimmed diffuser identify the TRD, as do its gloss-black spoiler and mirrors, plus dedicated red and black badging. Inside, it gets synthetic leather sport seats with red stitching and seat belts.
Hybrid models roll on wheels ranging from 16-19 inches and get proximity keyless entry and keyless starting, while V-6 models include a panoramic moonroof, dual exhaust, 10-inch head-up display, 9-inch infotainment touchscreen and nine-speaker JBL audio.
