I came in around 5:30/6:00p and George greeted me at the door. Asked me a few questions and started recommending models that would suit my lifestyle right away. Asked me if I wanted to test drive the Optima along with another model. Tested the Optima, fell in love. Answered every question I had about the Optima (safety, price, quality) and also showed me where everything was in the vehicle (how to turn light on/off). Made my first car buying experience smooth and painless. I was out of the door by 8:30p with my beautiful new car! I would highly recommend this dealership! I was nervous to make my first vehicle purchase at a dealership, and I had been to several Honda dealers in the area before I found Bettenhausen. I knew exactly what I was looking for, and I had seen a specific vehicle on CarGurus, so I called to see if it was available. I scheduled a test drive with Brandee and came in within 15 minutes. I was surprised that she handed me the keys without riding along; I liked that I had the freedom to test all aspects of the car without a salesperson breathing down my neck. When I got back to the office, Brandee went over the vehicle history report, and everything was very transparent. The cubicles are private yet spacious and I enjoyed the atmosphere more than any other dealership I had visited. When I decided that I wanted the car, I expected to be there for hours completing paperwork or haggling with prices. Brandee explained that they stay competitive in the market (the price for my car was more than fair based on KBB value) so their prices are bottom-line, and therefore no need for drawn-out negotiations. When she went over the purchase agreement, there were no hidden fees. I was out the door in about an hour, and it probably would have only been 30 minutes if I didn't have a personal payment issue. I was worried about my rental car and asked if I should come back the next day to pick up the new car, but Brandee offered to call Enterprise to have my car picked up, so I was able to leave immediately with my beautiful new (used) car. Based on my experience, I would say Bettenhausen Fiat holds themselves to a higher standard. They were trustworthy, knowledgeable and efficient!

Whenever I’ve had my car serviced, it’s critical that I have a “Go To” person that I can trust without question This is especially true when I bring in my car for service at a dealership. From the first time I brought my 350Z to the service department at Arlington Nissan, Al Thacker has been my Go To guy. When Al says I need work, I know it’s needed. When Al says this is the lowest price for the work, I’ve seen him do a lot of work to come up with the bottom line. If I need a loaner, Al has one waiting when I come in. If I can’t get to the service department before it closes, Al has often waited until I can. On top of all this, Al is a pleasure to deal with. I just recently bought my first used car (2012 Toyota RAV4) and cannot speak more highly of the experience I had with Melissa and Elmhurst Toyota! I pretty much knew what I was looking for and had scheduled test drives of two different RAV4s at Elmhurst Toyota, as well as another dealership down the street. I went to the other dealership first, and dealt with a different salesman than the one I had been communicating with through email AND had a scheduled appointment with that morning. I was told everyone "worked as a team" and sat down with a salesman that had no idea what I was in to test drive. After 5 minutes, I was informed that the car I was interested in had been sold the day before--no one had bothered to inform me despite my confirming my 10AM appointment at 6PM the night before. Fast forward to my experience with Melissa and Elmhurst Toyota - the dealership was clearly really busy but Melissa met me promptly upon my arrival at our designated appointment time. She was still wrapping up with another client but set me up for my test drive. Although I did wait to "talk numbers" for ~20 minutes after returning from the test drive, Melissa was super apologetic and the dealership itself has a lot of comfortable space in which to wait so it did not bother me. Trade in was valued quickly and there were no surprises with the price of the RAV4 - we had negotiated on price over email which ended up being much lower than the sticker price on the vehicle (there was no need to reminder her of the lower price we discussed). I was paying cash but needed a few days to move money from savings and Melissa was very clear in communicating my options for taking the car home that day versus returning to the dealership a few days later. I opted to pick up the car later to avoid 2 different contracts and it was ready for me when I got to the dealership so I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Given my positive experience with Elmhurst Toyota, I'm actually considering getting my car serviced at this dealership despite living in Chicago.
